Guest Designer Spotlight: Fun Summer Cards with Anita Madden

Hello everyone!  It's Anita here today and I’m so excited to be joining Sunny Studio Stamps once again as a guest designer!

Sunny Studio Stamps Summer Island Getaway Monkey Card by Anita Madden.

I used the adorable Island Getaway stamps for this card.  That monkey in the bikini is just too cute, right?  I colored the images with copics and then cut everything out with the coordinating Island Getaway dies.  For my background, I cut a piece of watercolor paper with a stitched rectangle die and sponged on some distress inks.  I flicked some water drops on the paper, let it sit for several seconds, and then dried the water with a clean towel.  I adhered all the images with foam dots for dimension and then added a few sequins for a bit of sparkle.

Once again I used the Island Getaway stamp set but went with a very clean and easy card!  I stamped the flip flops onto some Neenah cardstock, colored then with copics, and then cut them out with the coordinating Island Getaway dies.  I also used the tiny flowers from the stamp set to decorate the flip flops.  I used my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen on the flowers so they sparkle.  I used some bright pattern paper in summer colors and added a few matching enamel dots.

I used the sweet Fresh & Fruity stamp set for my next card.  I love all the different fruits in this set and the sentiments are perfect for so many different occasions.  I colored all the fruit with copics and then cut all of them using the coordinating Fresh & Fruity dies.  For my background, I cut a piece of watercolor paper with a stitched rectangle die and applied distress ink with lots of water for a splash of bright color.  I adhered the fruit with foam dots and then added a few sparkly sequins.

For my last card I used the Fresh & Fruity stamps to make another quick and easy card.  I colored all the fruit with my Copics and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  I mounted stitched squares onto some green cardstock and then adhered the fruit with foam dots for dimension.  The cute sentiment is one of many that are included in this set.  To finish my card, I simply wrapped some baker’s twine around the top and tied a bow.

A Summer Picnic Card with Lexa

Hello!  Lexa here with a picnic scene card with all the little details starring Summer Picnic stamp set and coordinating dies. I love everything about this set, so many elements to compliment your cards or projects. Here's my card for today...

Sunny Studio Stamps: A Summer Picnic Watercolor Card by Lexa Levana.

I started by cutting two pieces of white cardstock in 4.25" x 5.5".  For the first piece, I blended some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to create my clear blue sky.  For the second one, I die-cut it with a cloud border die and applied Crushed Olive Distress Ink for the grass using the negative portion of a grassy border die-cut as a mask.

I colored all the images with watercolor and Distress Markers before I arranged them all together to create the scene. The picnic mat is paper pieced in a red plaid patterned paper. If you look closer, you will see that I did some detail for the picnic basket. I cut the line exactly above the cloth so I can tuck in some of the fruits as if they were inside the basket. ;)

Last step is stamp some of the ants and the sentiment to match the scene. It was so much fun to create this card. I hope you all have a great day!

A Summer Picnic Shaker Card with Vanessa

Hello everyone! Vanessa here with a fun shaker card. I love all the little elements from the Summer Picnic set and thought they would make a perfect filling for a shaker window:

Sunny Studio Stamps: Summer Picnic Even The Best Picnics have a few Ants Shaker Card by Vanessa Menhorn.

I trimmed a panel of patterned paper slightly smaller than my Kraft card base and die-cut the circle from it. Then I stamped the ants around it, adhered a piece of clear cardstock behind the window and backed the panel with fun foam to create a shaker space. I stamped, colored and die-cut the various fruits and filled the window with them, together with colorful sequins. Now I closed the window with a piece of white cardstock and adhered the panel to the card. Finally, I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock, trimmed it and adhered it.

What do you think? I hope you like this idea, I had so much fun creating it :)
Thanks for stopping by today!

Summer Picnic Basket of Birthday Wishes Card with Lindsey

Hi, Lindsey here!  Today I'm sharing a card using the new Summer Picnic stamp set. When I saw this set, I knew I was going to create a card using the cute little ants. It makes such a sweet card for a summer birthday.

Sunny Studio: Summer Picnic Basket of Birthday Wishes Ant Card by Lindsey Bailey.

I used three different size rectangles to create this card. The largest is an A2 size. I did my stamping on the smallest of the three. I created a little scene with the ants delivering their food to the picnic basket for the little squirrel's birthday. Ha ha! It was a pretty simple card to make once I had all the little images lined up in the right spots. I didn't even have to do any masking. I just lined up the ants under the food and set the squirrel on top of the basket handle. Everything fit perfectly. I drew in some grass and colored everything with Copic markers. I stamped the clever little sentiment in the top left corner and the card was done!

I hope you'll check out the Summer Picnic set, and maybe even try your own version of this card. I love to see what everyone creates! Thanks for reading.

A Summer Picnic Card with Anni

Hey stampers, Anni here!

Can't you wait for the summer to start? There are so many fun things you can do: Swimming, staying at the beach... AND have a picnic! If you like picnics you will LOVE this set called Summer Picnic. It is awesome!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Summer Picnic Card by Anni.

I stamped, colored and die-cut way more food than you can see here. I like to prepare more images than I use in the end. That way I can arrange them as I want and have a lot of opportunities.

I used a piece of patterned paper as a picnic blanket and arranged all the food. It looks yummy, doesn't it?  To emphasize the focal point I added some ink blending to my background.  I stamped the sentiment and that finished my card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a sunny week.

Summer Picnic & Sunny Sentiments Let's do Lunch Card by Eloise

Hello everyone! Eloise here today to feature the new Summer Picnic stamp set. I love this stamp set with so many images to colour in and to create fun scenes. This set has so many great uses and it mixes in well with lots of the other stamp sets that have been released as well. It’s super fun!

Today I’m going to be creating a scene using a ton of the fun images included in this set along with the previously released stamp set called Sunny Sentiments to create a fun sort of lunch date card for a friend or family member.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Summer Picnic & Sunny Sentiments Let's do Lunch Card by Eloise Blue.

To start off this card I first stamped out pretty much all of the image stamps included in the Summer Picnic stamp set. I used some black ink along with some white cardstock. I decided for this card I would use some Copic markers to colour them in. Once they were all coloured in, I cut them all out. This set along with other sets have coordinating dies too, which makes it super easy! Once they’re all cut out I decided to work on the background. I cut down a piece of card stock and first started off with the sky. For this I used Broken China and Tumbled Glass distress ink. I then moved onto the grass. For this I used Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn. Once the grass was coloured I used the grass stamp from the Sunny Sentiments set and stamped it onto the green piece. I then used my scissors to cut along the black line. To complete the sky and grass pieces I also flicked on some water to create a water splotch effect.

Once the piece had dried I moved on to creating my scene. I placed all my images onto the card first before I adhered them down to know the placement. Once I was happy with it I started adhering pieces down. I used some liquid glue and foam adhesive to do so to give varying heights. Once everything was glued together including the sky and grass piece I took the ‘let’s do lunch’ sentiment from the same Summer Picnic stamp set and stamped that onto the sky with some more black ink. I then adhered the whole panel onto a white card base. I decided to add some clouds from the Sunny Sentiments set also because I thought the sky needed something a little extra. That finished up my card.

I hope you enjoyed and don’t forget to stop by tomorrow and check out another project using this super fun Summer Picnic stamp set!
