Backyard Bugs Hello Toadstool House with Marion

Hello! It's Marion here sharing two cards with you today. They are the same card, but I stepped up the second card and made it into a shaker card. Both cards use the newly released Backyard Bugs stamp set. The sentiment is from the Sunny Sentiments stamp set (also a new stamp set).

To start with, I partially diecut a circle (leaving the bottom section uncut). Next, I stamped the house and the flowers. I then took my pointy scissors and cut around the house and flowers, leaving the window. The images were coloured with Copic Markers and the grass was coloured with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. I sponged on some Salty Ocean distress ink onto the card base, and then popped up the front panel onto the card base with mounting foam.

Now to be honest, these cards were a labour of love! It took me about 5 tries to get it right, but I am glad that I persisted.

The second card uses exactly the same process as the first, except I adhered a piece acetate to the back of the front panel and created a well with the mounting foam to house the sequins.

Backyard Bugs Lovebug Card with Heidi

Hello everybody!  It's Heidi here and I'm so happy to be back at the Sunny Studio Stamps blog!  We have an amazing new release. Today I am sharing a card featuring the new Backyard Bugs Stamp and coordinated die set.   There are so many cute images to combine for creating adorable cards for Spring time and all year 'round occasions.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Backyard Bugs Love bug Ladybug card by Heidi Criswell.
For this card I used a circle stencil for the background, which I inked with a soft bluish green ink. I stamped, colored and die cut the flowers, the mushroom and the lady bugs. I also used the banner from the "Sunny Borders" stamp set, which I colored using purple Copic Markers.

I stamped the "you are my" sentiment from the Sunny Sentiments stamp set and then stamped the words "love bug" using the Sweet Script stamp set.  This is a very easy to use alphabet set.  I really like the font--it's a must have for customized sentiments.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  We would love to see what you create using our stamps and dies!  Have a lovely day!

Backyard Bugs Home Is Where The Heart Is Card by Melissa

Hello everyone, Melissa here!  Today I have a card to share using another one of the newly released stamp sets, Backyard Bugs. This set has a bunch of cute little bugs to make the sweetest outdoor springtime scenes . I absolutely LOVE it!

Sunny Studio: Home Is Where The Heart Is Mushroom House Card by Melissa Bowden (using Backyard Bugs & Happy Home stamps)

To make this card I first die cut a stitched rectangle out of white card and used a light brown ink to lightly blend the outside edge. After that I stamped the sentiment which is from the Happy Home stamp set. I wanted to do this first so I knew exactly how much room I had to fit my scene.

I then stamped and masked off the flowers, mushroom and lady bug before stamping the mushroom house. I also free-handed a little path leading up to the house with a Copic multi-liner. I then removed all of the masks and colored the images with Copic markers. To create the striped paper for the card base I used a stencil and some red distress ink.

I hope you enjoyed the card for today and that you love this stamp set as much as I do! Don’t forget to check back for more inspiration!

Rain or Shine: You Make Me Happy Card with Elise

Good morning! It's Elise again to share a colorful card with you that features the Rain or Shine stamp set and dies!

I was so excited about the rainbow and cloud stamps in this set, and I knew they would be perfect for a cheery, colorful card!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Rain or Shine You Make Me Happy Rainbow Card by Elise Constable.

The images are all colored with Prismacolor pencils and attached with foam tape. I used a smiley face stamp from another set that I had in my stash, but the face could easily be drawn on the cloud with a black marker. I also added some stickles to the edge of the clouds and the hearts for some extra detail. Here is a close up on those adorable clouds!

This set is so cute and its perfect for making sunny, spring cards! I can't wait to send this card to a friend to brighten their day!

Rain or Shine: Let's Weather It Together Card by Marion

Hi there. It's Marion here with another card using the Rain or Shine stamp set. Isn't this puppy just the sweetest thing?

Sunny Studio Stamps: Rain or Shine Let's Weather It Together Card by Marion Vagg.

I created the background with my new Kuretake water colour paints onto some Tim Holtz water colour paper.  I thought it created the perfect background for the cute doggy image from the set which I coloured with Copic markers. I popped up the images with some foam dimensionals.

Rain or Shine Sending Sunshine Rainbow Card by Mendi

Hello there!  Today the team is showcasing ways to use the Rain or Shine stamp set and I have a fun Rainbow card that I created pairing sentiments from the complimentary Sunny Sentiments stamp set.

Sunny Studio Stamps Sending Sunshine Rainbow Card by Mendi (using Rain or Shine and Sunny Sentiments)

I colored my image in with Copic markers.  I used a pale B0000 to color in shade the bottom of my clouds and then popped them up with foam tape to add some interest.  I then added a little clear glossy accents over my hearts to give them some shine.

For my sentiment I gently bent the stamp on my block to have it follow the curve of my rainbow.  Love how clear stamps can be shaped like this!  :)

I hope I've managed to spread a little sunshine your way today.  Make sure to check back to see all the darling ideas the team has up their sleeve this week!  :)

Rain or Shine Let's Weather It Together Card with Melissa

Hello everyone, Melissa here! I am super excited to share a card with you today featuring the newly released stamp set Rain or Shine! This set is so much fun!

Sunny Studio Stamps Rain or Shine Rainy Day Let's Weather It Together Card by Melissa Bowden.

Like a lot of my cards, this is one layer so required quite a bit of masking. I first stamped the dog holding his umbrella, then masked them off and stamped the grassy border from Sunny Sentiments. Once that was done I masked off the grass area with masking paper and inked up the sky using a variety of blue inks. I then used a darker blue to stamp the raindrops. I then removed the mask from the grass and stamped the sentiment on the bottom of the card and heat embossed it using white embossing powder.

To add the color to the grass I masked off the sky and inked it up using several green inks. Next I colored both the dog and his umbrella using distress inks. To finish the card I stuck the scene onto a scalloped card base.

Sending My Love & Birthday Wishes Teddy Bear Card with Francine

Hi everyone! Francine here for my first post on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog! Yay!

Today, I’m featuring the newest Sending My Love stamp set and here is my project:

Sunny Studio Stamps Teddy Bear Birthday Card by Francine Vuillème (using Sending My Love & Birthday Smiles stamp sets)

I decided to create a birthday card and I thought bright colors would be perfect for that. I first stamped the bear and I colored him with Copic markers. I then fussy cut and fixed him behind the label where I stamped the “Birthday Wishes” sentiment in black ink. This sentiment is from an older Sunny Studio set called Birthday Smiles.

For more interest and dimension, I decided to add eyelets and fix the label with hemp cord and foam pads to make the focal point pop against the bright patterned paper I used for the background. To finish off my card, I attached all layers together and added small hearts that you can find in the Sending My Love set.

I hope you like what you’ve seen! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Sending My Love Valentine's Day Heart Gift Tags with Mendi

Hello there!  I'm back today with a quick set of heart shaped gift tags using the middle sized heart from our Stitched Hearts dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps Valentine's Day Heart Gift Tags (using Stitched Heart Dies, Sweet Script & Sending My Love Stamps)

To decorate each of the tags I stamped a little critter face from our Sending My Love stamp set and then personalized the tag with each of my family's names using our Sweet Script alphabet stamps.

Sunny Studio Stamps Valentine's Day Heart Gift Tag (using Stitched Heart Dies, Sweet Script & Sending My Love Stamps)

To finish off each tag I punched a 1/8" hole in the top corner of each tag and then threaded a little sheer organza ribbon through the hole and tied it off with a twine bow.

Sunny Studio Stamps Valentine's Day Heart Gift Tag (using Stitched Heart Dies, Sweet Script & Sending My Love Stamps)

I wanted to make the stitching stand out a bit more against the patterned paper so I used a white gel pen to trace the stitched lines on the heart.

I think these will be a great little extra to tie onto some gifts for my family for Valentine's Day this year!  I hope I've inspired you to make some cute little tags of your own.  ;)

Make sure to stop back by tomorrow.  The amazing Francine will be sharing her debut post as part of our design team.  :)

Sending Sweet Birthday Wishes Chocolate Wrapper by Marion

Hi there! It's Marion here with a little project using the newly released Sending My Love stamp set. Talk about a cutsie patoosie stamp set! Lots of different mixing and matching can be done with this one and it also has coordinating dies as well.

Today I have created a simple chocolate wrapper; a perfect little gift to give to someone special on their birthday.

Sunny Studio Stamps Sending Sweet Birthday Wishes Chocolate Wrapper by Marion Vagg.

To create the wrapper, I took some red card stock and trimmed it to just under the width of the chocolate box. I wrapped it around the chocolate and drew some pencil marks on the edges, so I knew where to make the fold fines with my scoring board. I made it a fairly snug fit, but still loose enough to slip on and off easily. Before adhering the wrapper ends together, I stamped some love hearts from the Furever Friends stamp set in red ink to create a subtle tone on tone effect.

The bear was coloured with Copic markers. I added some some red Stickles to the love heart to add some sparkle and some Glossy Accents to his nose.

Sending My Love Simple Puppy Dog Hugs Card by Mendi

Hello there!  How was your first day back to a normal schedule?  For those who have kids, are you the type who like to have your kids back in school or do you love the break in routine?  I'm sort of in the middle.  I loved not having to wake up early and pack lunches, but I also love having my kids in school and not sitting home bored while I work.  ;)

Today I have a simple little card I created for a friend who had lost a pet using our new Sending My Love stamps... I wanted to keep my design clean so I colored the image with Copic markers and fussy cut it out.  To ground the image I added a shadow using the solid oval found in the Sunny Borders stamp set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Sending My Love Simple Puppy Dog Hugs Card (with hugs die from Furever Friends)

For my sentiment I cut out 4 of the "hugs" word dies that come as a bonus with the Furever Friends dies, coloring just the top one with an ombre look with my Copics before stacking and gluing them together with my zig glue pen to create the look of chipboard and add a little dimenson.  :)

I hope you have a great day and check back tomorrow to see what the team has up their sleeves using this new set.  :)

Sending My Love Critters Sending Birthday Wishes Card by Mendi

Hello there!  Happy Monday!  Thanks to everyone who made our new release such a success so far!  I can't wait to see what you all create with your purchases!  :)

This week we are showcasing some more ways to use the new Sending My Love stamps and dies and I couldn't resist taking the opportunity to use the little critter faces all by themselves!  :)

To get my faces to line up in a somewhat perfect circle, I used a smaller circle die in my nested set to help push my faces up against and help me with spacing before adhering them to my card with a glue pen.

Sunny Studio Stamps Sending My Love Critters Sending Birthday Wishes Card

For my sentiment I mixed the "sending" word from the set with the "Birthday Wishes" sentiment from Birthday Smiles.  My background was inked up using Peacock Distress ink and I just love the way it compliments the grey and brown critters.  :)

The stamps and dies were a bit late arriving to the team so I will be back tomorrow with one more idea using the Sending My Love set while they try to catch up.  Until then, I hope you have a fabulous day!  :)

Inspiration Week: Introducing Sunny Borders & Sweet Script

Happy Friday!  Today's the big day! Our Spring release is officially available for purchase in our online store and slowly becoming available at select retailers.

Today I am showcasing some of the fun ways to use our new Sunny Borders stamps & dies and the new Sweet Script alphabet stamps.  :)

This first card shows one fun way to use the chevron border from the Sunny Borders set.  I used my MISTI tool to have the stamp and then moved my card panel up by 1/4" between each color.  I paired it with the snail from Backyard Bugs and the little mailbox, letters and part of the sentiment from Sending My Love.
Sunny Studio Stamps Sending Snail Mail Card (using Bunny Borders, Backyard Bugs & Sending My Love)

My second card was shared yesterday, but I wanted to share it here as well to showcase the heart border from Sunny Borders which I heat embossed in the background.  I alternated clear and white embossing powder for a fun twist, heating them up between each row.

Sunny Studio Stamps Valentine's Day Card (using Sunny Borders and Sending My Love stamp sets)

My next card uses both the Sweet Script stamps for my custom sentiment and the Sunny Border stamps and dies.  I love how the dies perfectly cut out the matching scallops for the stamps!  For the images I used the chick, puddle and umbrella from our Rain or Shine set shared on Monday.  :)

Sunny Studio Stamps Welcom Baby Card (using Sweet Script, Sunny Borders & Rain or Shine)

For this card I used both the banner and the scalloped stamps and dies from Sunny Borders, paired with the butterfly, flower pot and sentiment from Backyard Bugs.

Sunny Studio Stamps Butterfly Card (using Backyard Bugs & Sunny Borders stamp sets)

For my last card I used the Sweet Script stamp set to create another custom sentiment for a baby or Bridal shower using the umbrella and hearts from the Rain or Shine set.
