Guest Designer Spotlight: Cards with Wanda Guess

Hi everyone! Wanda Guess here! I'm very happy and excited to be the guest designer today on the Sunny Studio Blog! I'm always delighted to work with the beautiful and fun stamps and dies from Sunny Studio! They are some of the faves in my craft room for sure. For today's post I combined a bunch of different stamp sets and created two cards. One is super bright and cute, and the other is more sophisticated with a neutral palette. First up today is a super fun birthday card with those adorable new monkeys! I love them! I stamped and die cut out a bunch of monkeys and vines. I also made them some accessories like cake and party hats! I used the Purrfect Birthday stamp set for those add-ons. 

Then, for the sentiment I used the Two Scoops stamp set. Really, when I make cards, I love to mix and match to create my own unique creation. This is a long card - measuring 8" x 4". I love the Staggered Circles die cut and cut that out of a white panel. 

I backed the circles with beautiful blue gingham paper. I had fun coloring everything with my Copics in shades of blue, yellow and pink. Who wouldn't want to party with these guys? The top white layer with the circles was mounted to the card using foam tape. 

Then I attached the monkeys and vines with foam tape also. Just the right amount of dimension, but not too much that it won't fit into an envelope. 

My second project is a card made with lots of neutral colors and the gorgeous Everything's Rosy stamp set. I also used the beautiful Quilted Hearts embossing folder and some brown gingham. This card is an A2 size with a kraft card base. 

The flowers were stamped onto cream cardstock. The embossed background is also on cream cardstock. I layered gingham, vellum and kraft for my focal point of the card. I wrapped the kraft layer with pretty natural twine. 

I used gold paint to splatter gold flecks onto the cream embossed layer and the small kraft layer. Just a bit of added elegance. I stamped the roses using my MISTI in dark pink and pretty green shades. The sentiment is from the Happy Harvest stamp set! 

See - you don't have to only use that set for autumn! The roses and leaves were mounted onto the card with foam tape. I added a few sparkly pink enamel dots to finish it off.

Puppy Parents Cards with Franci and Mona

Hello there! Franci here with you today with a lovely card featuring the new Puppy Parents set.

First I die cut the frame using the Fancy Frames Rectangle dies and this lovely pink striped paper from the Dots & Stripes Pastels paper pad. I created a coordinated base out of white cardstock, I masked the top to ink a light green ground for my cuties to stand on.

I stamped colored and die cut these cute doggies and I glued them down with foam adhesive, then I added my sentiment on the bottom and some dimensional hearts.

I completed the card and then I moved onto the envelope. I decided to decorate the flap by stamping randomly lots of images from the same set. I colored some of the images and I stamped some others with colored inks.

I'm so happy about how it turned out, decorated envelopes always makes me happy!!

Hi crafty friends! It's Mona here, I made today's card for my mom with the adorable Puppy Parents Stamp Set!

I started the card making with die-cutting so I made a die-cut with the Window Trio Squares Die. For the background I used pastel blue patterned paper with tiny flowers from the Flirty Flowers Paper pad.

Next, I stamped the images from the Puppy Parents Stamp Set Stamp Set and cute tulips from Spring Greetings stamp set and I colored them with Copic Markers.

After the coloring I used the coordinating dies to cut the images and added highlights with Signo Uniball white pen.

(Copics used: 0, W0, W1, W3, W5, E31, E33, E35, E42, E43, E44, R20, R32, R24, BG10, BG11, BG13, B000, B12, B14 )

Chubby Bunny Cards with Vanessa and Anja

Hello everybody! Vanessa here today with a z-fold card using the cute Chubby Bunny set. These little bunnies are adorable, I wanted to put a lot of them onto my card. A z-fold card offers plenty of space to do so.

For the base, I trimmed my cardstock pieces like this:

As you can see, I trimmed the upper panel 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored it at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4. For the grass layer, I scored the panel at 4 1/4 and 2 1/8 from the other side. To assemble the card, I put on the adhesive as shown in the pic. 

But before assembling, I used a cloud stencil on the base to create the sky, then I die-cut the birch trees and leaves from Rustic Winter, colored them with Copics and adhered them. 

Now I trimmed a strip of cardstock, inked it with green Distress Oxide ink, die-cut a grass edge and adhered it.

I stamped all the images onto white cardstock, colored them with Copics and adhered them, raising some with foam tape.

As you can see, I added two more strips of grass into the square to add more dimension here. And when folded, the card fits into an envelope easily.

Hello everyone, Anja here and I'm happy to be back again with a new card showcasing the adorable Chubby Bunny Stamps. I just love their cute little faces!

At first, I created an A2 landscape top-folding card base from white cardstock. I used the Window Trio Square Dies to cut three openings into a panel of lilac cardstock. I also chose a stitched scalloped die to create a decorative border.

Next, I took a piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth Cardstock and marked where the windows would be with a pencil. I did some light handed ink blended with Distress Oxide Inks (Spun Sugar, Milled Lavender, Tumbled Glass). I picked one of the purple Gingham Pastels 6x6 Papers, cut it to size and adhered it at the bottom of my card base and popped up the window panel with foam tape.

I stamped the bunnies, sentiment banner and a little flower in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic Markers (colors listed below). I used the coordinating dies to cut the images out and adhered them with foam squares.

(Copic colors used - Aqua: BG10, BG11, BG32, BG45; Green: G40, YG11, YG13; Grey: C00, C0, C1, C3; Pink: RV10, RV02, RV55; Purple: V000, V01, V12, V15)

Happy Owlidays Peek-A-Boo Window Holiday Card with Juliana

Hello friends! It's Juliana Michaels and today I'm here to share a Christmas card featuring the adorable Happy Owlidays stamp set.

I began by stamping and coloring the sweet little owls with Copic markers. I then die cut them with the coordinating dies.

After the coloring was completed, I took a piece of striped patterned paper from the Holiday Cheer 6x6 paper pad and trimmed it to 4 x 5.25 inches. I adhered it to a white card base. Next, I used the Window Trio Circle dies to cut a piece of white cardstock. I then trimmed it into a border strip to fit on the card front. I thought it would be fun to have the little owls peeking out of the windows! To give them a bit of dimension, I added some double sided foam adhesive to the back sides of the owls.

To complete the card, I die cut a piece of white cardstock and a piece of green patterned paper using the pennant die from the Fancy Frames Rectangle dies. I then stamped the sentiment onto the white cardstock and adhered them to the card front.
