Guest Designer Spotlight: Cards with Tina Smith

Hello Crafty Friends! My name is Tina Smith, I have a blog called Cards & Coffee Time. I am super excited to be joining Sunny Studio this month as a Guest Designer on their Blog celebrating their amazing Spring Release:) Love and Springtime is in the air and I am so happy to share two projects using some of the new items from this fantastic release! 

For my first project, I will be creating the adorable Passionate Penguins Stamp set along with the coordinating dies. I paired them with some Spring colored patterned papers and also used the new Spring Greenery Die set for a bit of interest!! 

For my second project I created a fun everyday card with the Heart Bouquet Stamp, the coordinating die and one of the penguins from the Passionate Penguins Stamp. I love that you can mix and match these stamps! I used the Spring Greenery Die set to create a background full of leaves and love the outcome!

Lovey Dovey Cards with Vanessa and Audrey

Hello to you! Vanessa here with a slimline card using the wonderful Lovey Dovey set.

I started with a panel of white cardstock and stamped the cute bear from Bear Hugs. Then I die-cut the moon shape from masking paper using the Stitched Circle Large Dies and masked the moon and the bear image. I inked the background with Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide inks and added clouds with a cloud stencil. 

After I had removed the masks, I colored the moon and the bear with Copics and drew the string with a black marker. I added stars with a white gel pen and adhered the panel to my blue card base. Finally, I stamped the sentiment onto vellum, heat-embossed it with white embossing powder, die-cut the element with the matching die and adhered it to the card.

I love sentiments with matching dies, this makes them so versatile! Have a lovely day and thanks for stopping by today!

Hello friends! Audrey here with a Lovey Dovey card to share with you! 

To create this card, I started out with a piece of white cardstock cut to 4" x 5.25". I stamped a sentiment from the Lovey Dovey stamp set in black ink and then used the coordinating dies to cut a post-it note to mask off the sentiment. Then, I used the Pink Peonies stamp set to stamp flowers and leaves around the sentiment. I masked off each flower and stamped the leaves for an almost one layer card. I colored the images with the Tombow ABT PRO Alcohol Markers, in the red and green sets, which were kindly sent to me for my review. The colors are bright and vibrant, and I love the brush tip. They blend well and work nicely in combination with the Copic Markers. 

When everything was colored, I splattered on some white watered down acrylic paint before removing the mask that I had placed over the sentiment. Before popping the panel up on a white A2 card base, I added a strip of coordinating striped paper from the All is Bright 6x6 paper pad. To finish off my card, I added a scattering of sparkling clear sequins.

Quilted Heart Die Focused Card & Bookmarks with Anja and Marine

Hi everyone, Anja here with you today sharing a love themed card created with the Quilted Hearts Portrait Die.

First, I made a regular A2 card base from white cardstock. I did some ink blending on another white cardstock panel using Distress Oxide Inks (Picked Raspberry, Kitsch Flamingo, Worn Lipstick, Spun Sugar andTattered Rose). For some texture, I randomly splattered on water droplets and lifted off the color with a paper towel. I let it dry before running it through my diecutting machine with the Quilted Hearts Portrait Die.

Next, I stamped two birds and the tree branch from the Little Birdie set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic Markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut out the images which I then adhered with foam tape.

The big scripty sentiment from the Lovey Dovey set was stamped in VersaMark Ink onto a piece of white cardstock. I heat embossed it with WOW! Metallic Brass Sparkle Embossing Glitter. I really like that there are coordinating dies to cut out the sentiments for a finished look. Finally, I popped up with foam tape as well.

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm glad to be back on the blog with this trio of cute and colorful Valentine bookmarks showcasing the new Quilted Hearts Portrait die.

I started by stamping the images using an alcohol marker friendly black ink: a crocodile from Outback Critters, a cow from Barnyard Buddies, a shark from Sea You Soon, and several hearts from Fabulous Flamingos, and I colored everything using my alcohol markers.

I chose three pattern papers from the Dots & Stripes Pastels paper pack, and cut three Quilted Hearts Portrait panels. And then from those three panels, I cut three mini slimline panels.

And to make the back of those bookmarks pretty, I cut more mini slimline panels: three white panels and I stuck one behind each quilted heart panel + three colored panels and I attached one at the back of each white panel to get a nice and pretty finish. And between the white panel and the colored panel, I slid a piece of ribbon to create a handle at the top of each bookmark.

I white heat embossed some words on black cardstock, trimmed them to create small banners, and I also cut letters using the Chloe Alphabet die set to create the phrases: "You croc my world", "I love moo" and "I chews you". And I cut three banners using a die from the Stitched Rectangle die set. And then I stuck all the elements on the bookmarks using foam squares and liquid glue.

As always I added highlights on the images using a white gel pen, and the last final touch was to add glossy accents on the hearts to make them shine and pop even more. And that's it. Passionate Penguins Cards with Franci and Gladys

Happy Wednesday everyone! It's Franci here with you today, showcasing the Passionate Penguins set. These little penguins are so adorable! 

First of all I created my mini slimline card base out of white cardstock and cut out a slightly smaller panel out of the same cardstock. I stamped all the penguins, colored them with copics and cut them out with coordinated dies. I created a custom circle stencil by cutting a circle out of a scrap of paper and added some color to the white panel using Distress Inks.

I stamped my sentiment at the top and glued the panel down to my card with foam adhesive. Finally I added the penguins with more foam adhesive and some colorful Rainbow dot confetti.

Hello crafty friends!! Gladys here and I’m back to share a mini slimline card featuring the sweet Passionate Penguins stamp set. This set is definitely one of my favorite from the release. The illustration is just so adorable, don't you think?

I cut the main panel out of white cardstock and bristol smooth cardstock using a mini slimline die that measures 5 3/4" x 3 1/4". Next I used the medium size heart from the Stitched Heart 2 dies to cut three times on the white cardstock to create a frame. I used the same heart to cut from masking paper to use as a mask. I inked blended the hearts on the bristol smooth cardstock. I used distress oxide colors in spun sugar, kitsch flamingo and worn lipstick from left to right. I lined up the white cardstock heart frame onto the blended panel and adhered it using liquid glue. 

Next I stamped and colored the penguins from the set using alcohol markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I adhered three of the penguins onto the hearts using double sided foam tape. The sentiment was white heat embossed onto black cardstock, trimmed down and foam mounted onto the panel. To complete the card I matted the panel onto patterned paper to frame the sweet penguins and accentuate the hearts.

Heart Shaped Die Focused Cards with Isha and Kavya

Hello everyone! Isha here with you sharing a CAS mixed media card today featuring the Stitched Heart 2 and Scalloped Heart dies. I love creating layers and textures using various mediums and this card turned out as I imagined :)

To start, I took a watercolor paper and added a wash of spiced marmalade distress ink and some pink spray by heidi swapp. Apply Distress Crackle paint to some areas. Once dry, I die-cut the largest heart using the Stitched Heart 2 die. Adhere the negative piece to the cardbase.

Die-cut a gold heart using the largest of the Scalloped Heart die. Adhere the scalloped heart to the card using 3d foam and now layer with the watercolor heart. 

Stamp the sentiment using the Lovey Dovey stamp, die-cut using the coordinating die. Die-cut one more sentiment using a pink card and adhere to the back of the stamped sentiment slightly offset. Die-cut the medium scalloped heart from vellum, adhere to the  card. Adhere some gold floss and the sentiment.

Die-cut some leaves from the Spring Greenery dies. Adhere to the card. Next, I die-cut smaller hearts from the stitched heart 2 dies from pink cardstock, apply nuvo midas touch shimmer pen and add nuvo crystal glaze. Use these as accents to finish the card.

Hi folks, Kavya here. I am back on the blog with another fun project! In one of my past posts, I mentioned that I want to expand and try out new techniques and this includes products that are just collecting dust. Over the last two years, I have accumulated a lot of embellishments and shaker bits from my DT packages. I am not sure why I haven’t made many shaker cards and I want to change this! For this week’s project, I decided to combine some basic shaped dies to create a fun shaker card :) 

I first started off with a 4.5” square card base. I ink blended it using Picked Rasberry, Abandoned Carol and Tattered Rose distress oxide inks. I added ‘land’ using Slimline Nature Border dies. I also ended up cutting a square scalloped border using  Fancy Frames Square dies and a bordered heart element using Stitched Heart 2 dies and Scalloped Heart Dies. I used the inner square border to create my shaker by adhering 1/8” foam strips around the edges. I filled it with Red and Pink Heart Confetti and placed the heart element on top. 

Finally, I stamped a bunch of images from Party Pups and adhered them around the heart :) I decided to skip the sentiment as it was already a bit too crowded and I am sure anyone can make it out that it’s a birthday/party themed card!
