Rain Showers Froggy Friendship Card with Vanessa

Hey everyone! Vanessa here with a card mixing various cute stamp sets. The sweet frog from the Froggy Friends set was deserving some love, so I put him on today's card.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Rain Showers Froggy Friendship Card by Vanessa Menhorn

I first stamped the Rain Showers stamp with light blue ink all over my cardstock panel. Then I trimmed a rectangle from blue vellum, die-cut the upper edge with the Wavy Border Dies, stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment from Color Me Happy and adhered it to the card.

I stamped the frog, the leaf and the flower onto white cardstock, colored everything with Copics and fussy-cut the images. For more dimension, I adhered the elements with foam tape.

I hope someone fills your days with rainbows! Thanks for visiting today!

Oceans Of Joy Underwater Sea Creatures Card with Vanessa

Hi everybody! Vanessa here today to take you to a trip to the sea. I love the cute Oceans of Joy set, it is so much fun to play around with the sea critters to create summery cards.

One of my favorite things to do with sea themed sets is to find new ways to create water. For today's card I used vellum to make the waves:

First, I trimmed four layers of light blue vellum the same size and die-cut off the tops with the Wavy Border Dies. Then I stamped the bottom of the sea onto Kraft cardstock, die-cut the edge with the matching die and layered it with the vellum pieces. Now I stamped all the images, colored them with Copics and die-cut them with the matching dies.

After I had adhered the layered panel to the card, I added the images, using foam tape for the dolphin and the turtle. I trimmed an orange piece of cardstock, stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment and adhered it to the card with foam tape. Then I finished the card off with sequins.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Tropical Paradise Wish You Were Here Flamingo Card with Lexa

Happy Fri-YAY everyone!

Lexa here with a color block shaker card for today. Let's take a look for more details about it right now..

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Paradise Wish You Were Here Flamingo Card by Lexa Levana.

I started my card with a 4.25" x 5.5" eggplant cardstock and arranged various sized heart dies to make a window for my shaker card. It gives a little twist instead of a regular shape for the window. Those flamingos from Tropical Paradise are in looove. I made diagonal stripes on the background with a stencil and pink pigment ink and added a mix of pink sequins to match the flamingos and the hearts..sweet! I also cut two stripes of blue cardstock with the Wavy Border Dies as the water for they stand. The yellow flower and 'wish you were here' sentiment are from Island Getaway.

I don't usually use colored backgrounds for my cards, but usually prefer a white and clean background most of the time. But... now that I've made one, I kinda like how it turned out. What do you think? Please let me know in the comment section below.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great day!

Comfy Creatures Monkeys & Rainbows Birthday Card with Lindsey

Hi, Lindsey here again! Today I'm sharing a cute birthday card featuring the adorable stamp set Comfy Creatures. This set is full of adorable critters that you can mix and match with different bodies and accessories, and there are plenty of sentiments to make different kinds of cards. You get a lot of bang for your buck with this set.

I used the little monkeys with the beach bodies for this card. I started by getting my background ready. I cut some sunburst paper with a stitched rectangle for the top half of my card. For the bottom part of the card, I used the Wavy Border dies to create the water with two different colors of teal cardstock.

I also added a rainbow I made using different colors of cardstock and circle dies. I drew and cut out the clouds myself. Next, I stamped and colored the island and monkeys. I used the coordinating dies to cut the island, monkey tails, and flower on the girl monkey's head. I fussy cut the monkeys. The next step was to put together the scene. I used regular adhesive to attach everything but the monkeys and clouds. I popped them up a bit with foam tape. Lastly, I added some Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen to the rainbow, clouds, flower, and the clothes on the monkeys.

Stars & Stripes Fourth of July Cards with Lindsey

Hi! Lindsey here again sharing several cards using the Stars and Stripes stamp set. This set is perfect for Fourth of July cards, but also has images and sentiments that would work great for birthday cards or even a card for your favorite hero! I also incorporated the new Star Border die, the Wavy Border dies and the cute koalas from the Comfy Creatures stamp set. Let's get started.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fourth of July Flag Card by Lindsey Bailey (using Stars & Stripes, Comfy Creatures, Wavy Borders & Star Border die)

I started with an A2 size card base. I used the Wavy Border dies to create red and white strips of cardstock which became the stripes on my American flag. A simple rectangle out of blue cardstock created the background for the Star Border. I cut the Star Border from white cardstock and trimmed it down to six stars, so it would fit in my rectangle. Once I had the background done, it was time to stamp and color the adorable little boy and girl koala. I colored the koalas using Copic markers and fussy cut them out. I added a star and hat on top of their heads from the Stars and Stripes stamp set

Finally, I stamped my sentiment under the blue rectangle on one of the white stripes. Since my sentiment said "reach for the stars", I decided to add a few more larger stars above the little koalas. These stars also came from the Stars and Stripes stamp set. I added a little Wink of Stella to all the stars for a little extra sparkle and that completes my card.

For my second card, I used almost all the images in the Stars and Stripes stamp set to create another fun Fourth of July card. I just arranged the different stamps on my white rectangle, which was slightly smaller than an A2 size card, to see what layout I preferred. Once I had them where I wanted them, I stamped them down. I colored all the images with Copic markers. I also outlined each image with a light blue marker. Then I used my glitter pen to add a little sparkle to all the stars on my card.

After everything was colored, I backed my white rectangle on a piece of red cardstock to really make the white panel pop. Finally, I attached the red panel to a gray polka dot piece of cardstock that was cut to four and a quarter by five and half.

For my last card I decided to focus on the little firecracker image in the set. I wanted to create a background sky full of exploding fireworks with the little firecrackers in the foreground.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Stars & Stripes Red, White & Blue Fourth of July Rocket Card by Lindsey Bailey.

The first thing I did, was create the background using a piece of watercolor cardstock. I used some distress ink on an acrylic block to create the "fireworks." I simply put a dab of ink on the block and then used my water brush to spread the ink around in the shape of a firework. Then, I placed the paper on top of the ink. Ta-da.....watercolor fireworks! I think this technique worked well for the look I was going for.

Next I stamped and colored three little fire crackers. I also stamped a little face from the set onto each firecracker to give them some personality. Once the watercolor panel was dry, I stamped the sentiment in the bottom left corner where I had a left a little white space. Then, I decided where to place the firecrackers and stamped the little firecracker trail in black. I used foam tape to pop up each of the firecrackers and added a little Wink of Stella to make them sparkle. Finally, I backed my watercolor panel on a gingham blue and red cardstock.

I hope you'll check out this fun set, and stay tuned to the blog for more inspiration! I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with! Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Inspiration Week: Introducing Tropical Paradise & Island Getaway

Hello there!  I'm so thrilled to be kicking off the countdown to our new release on Friday with some fun projects using the newest sets along with a GIVEAWAY each day!  Today I am showcasing just a few of the fun ways you can use Tropical ParadiseIsland Getaway and our fun new Wavy Borders dies!

Up first is a card using Island Getaway and borrowing a monkey from the new Comfy Creatures set to be showcased on Thursday.  ;)  For this card I die-cut clouds from a sticky masking material using the dies from Rain or Shine and Sunny Sentiments.  I added them to my background before sponging on Tumbled Glass distress ink.  I then layered on some Peacock feathers distress ink along the bottom of my card front feathering out the color to blend with the tumbled glass.  I then stamped the waves over the top in Tumbled Glass using the waves stamps from the set.

To create the hammock, I die-cut a circle from some extra white cardstock and then cut another circle in same size from the edge of the original circle to create the moon shape.  I then inked it up with a heavy layer of that same Peacock Feathers distress ink and traced the edge with a sharpie (using a piece of scratch paper beneath it) to give it the appearance that it had been stamped like the rest of the scene.

For my next card with Island GetawayI used the same cloud masks from the Rain or Shine and Sunny Sentiments dies.  Then for my waves, I sponged on Peacock Feathers, then Mermaid Lagoon and Salty Ocean distress inks with masks cut with the Wavy Borders dies.  I used Post-it tape and was able to cut and use them over and over again on a number of cards before they lost their stickiness.  I love the finished results of the waves with the layered colors!

I finished my card by coloring in the flip flops and the little clothespins from the set with Copic Markers and stamping a sentiment onto a strip of paper, cutting the end with our Fishtail Banner dies.

For my third card using Island Getaway I wanted to create a card with the monkey playing in the waves.  I used my island stamp in the set to form my sandy beach, hiding the edge behind some die-cut waves.  This time for my waves using the Wavy Borders dies I cut them all from white cardstock.  I then sponged on ink starting at the bottom using Salty Ocean, trying to make the blend gradual and keeping the top edges fairly light.  I love how it gives a frothy appearance to my waves and makes them stand out against each other.  I finished my card with a flower in the corner from the Tropical Paradise set.

Up next I have a card combining the palm tree, island, waves & sentiment from Island Getaway with the flamingos from Tropical Paradise.  For this card I used my mask to sponge on Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon ink on the bottom two-thirds of my card, moving the mask down as I worked to add some different layers of color.  I then used the waves stamp from Island Getaway to add some more waves.  For the top half, I cut a second mask using the other side of the die and sponged on Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade distress inks.  Keeping my wave mask in place, I layered the negative portion of a circle mask over the top and inked the sun in more Spiced Marmalade before stamping my sentiment over the top in black ink.

My stamped images were colored with Copic markers and I cut a little sliver from my wave using a craft knife to slip one of the flamingos feet into the water so it didn't look like it was walking on water.  ;)

My next card uses the florals from Tropical Paradise, the smaller hibiscus flower (in my background piece) from Island Getaway and a sentiment from the Sunny Sentiments stamp set.

For this card I sponged my background with Peacock Feathers distress ink and then stamped the subtle flower print in the background using Tumbled Glass distress ink.  My flowers were colored in Copics and my sentiment was stamped using SSS Doll Pink ink

For my last card today I wanted to focus on all the fun fruity drinks and pineapples from the Tropical Paradise set.  I started by die-cutting a circle from white cardstock and lightly sponging on some Tumbled Glass distress ink in the center.  I then layered my stamped images colored with Copics, grounding them with a banner from our Sunny Borders stamp set.  For my sentiment I borrowed one from the Island Getaway set, curving it on my clear acrylic block to match the curve of my banner.  The outer frame of my card was inked using Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade distress inks and then I used a small heart stamp from the Tropical Paradise set with the Mustard Seed ink to stamp a repeated pattern.
