Wrap Around Gift Boxes with Juliana and Mendi

Hello friends! It's Juliana with you today to share a Happy Birthday gift box featuring the Wrap Around Box Dies and a mix of stamps from the Best Fishes Stamps and Oceans of Joy Stamps. I recently shared a sloth themed birthday gift box featuring this Wrap Around Box Dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fourth of July and Best Fishes Ocean Themed Gift Boxes (using Wrap Around Box Die) by Juliana Michaels and Mendi Yoshikawa

To get started I took a piece of Bristol Paper and die cut the gift box using the Wrap Around Box Dies. Following the instructions, I assembled the box and put it to the side. Next, I took the stitched rectangle die included with this die set and cut 4 panels from Bristol Paper. I choose to use Bristol Paper because I wanted to color them using Distress Inks and I find this ink blends wonderfully on this paper.

I knew I wanted to create an underwater ocean scene. However, instead of regular die cutting and layering, I decided to go for an inlaid design. To achieve this, I took the Catch A Wave Dies and the Woodland Border Dies and used them to create an inlaid design on the die cut stitched rectangles. Using Therm O Web Purple Tape, I taped the dies down onto the die cut rectangle piece and ran them through my die cut machine. I then applied Distress Oxide ink in Salty Ocean to the water pieces and Frayed Burlap and Vintage Photo to the bottom piece.

To give the wave die cut pieces a more underwater look, I splattered water onto them and dabbed it dry with a paper towel. This removed some of the ink and gave me the look of water bubbles. For the sand, I splattered these pieces with watered down brown and black paint. White I waited for everything to dry, I die cut 4 more stitched rectangles. I then put each of the panels back together, and adhered them to the rectangles. They were then ready to attach to the gift box. For the top section of the gift box, I once again used Bristol Paper and inked it with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide.

I then went about stamping and coloring a bunch of images from the Best Fishes Stamps and Oceans of Joy Stamps. To color the images, I used Copic Markers and then die cut them using the Best Fishes Dies and Oceans of Joy Dies. Once all of the coloring was finished, I began grouping the images together to create a scene for each side of the box. I used double sided foam adhesive to adhere some of the images for a bit of dimension.

To complete the gift box, I die cut a tag from Wrap Around Box Dies and then added a sentiment and a couple of starfish from the Best Fishes Stamps. I then punched a hole in one of the top pieces of the box and tied on the tag with a piece of green and white baker's twine.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed this bit of birthday gift box inspiration featuring the Wrap Around Box Dies!

Hello there!  Mendi here, filling in for Angelica today. I'm excited to be sharing a patriotic themed treat box using the Wrap Around Box dies. To carry out my theme, I turned to my favorite Classic Gingham and Polka-dot Parade 6x6 Paper Packs.

I started by cutting four of the box panels from white cardstock and then four of the stitched rectangles to decorate the sides from the white gingham patterned paper. This type of pattern doesn't matter which direction it's turned so I was able to get all four sides from a single 6x6 sheet, by turning the die horizontal for two and and vertical for the remaining two. I then just die-cut portions of the rectangle from the red and blue versions, hanging the die off my paper and trimming them down to just over an inch.

To embellish my box, I turned to star dies from our Window Trio Square Dies and Fancy Frames Square Dies sets, cutting them from Red, white and blue textured cardstock. To add a little something extra, I then layered each of them with some Americana Star Crystals.

As a last touch, I created a matching tag from my scraps using the Wrap Around Box die set, stamping and heat embossing it with a sentiment from our Happy Thoughts Stamps (and the word "happy" from our Fabulous Flamingos Stamps).

I hope we've inspired you to create some fun summer themed treat boxes of your own. They are so much fun to decorate for all sorts of occasions!

Surprise Party Cards with Eloise and Leanne

Hello crafty friends, Eloise here and today I’ll be using the Surprise Party Paper Pack along with Berry Bliss to create a summer themed Birthday Card.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Surprise Party Berry Bliss Sweet Shoppe Sweet Word Die You're Sweet Card by Eloise Blue Birthday Card by Leanne West

I started off with cutting four small strips of paper from the paper pack using my paper trimmer. I used the red, purple, dark blue and green star patterns. I then used the Berry Bliss Stamp Set and stamped out the strawberry, blueberry and raspberry in coordinating colours, using some coloured inks. I used my stamp press to help stamp them in the right places. Before I stamp the leaves on top, I cut them out and then stamp the leaves to get the placement just right.

(Altenew Inks Used: Artic, Caribbean Sky, Persian Blue, Sapphire / Frosty Pink, Coral Berry, Ruby Red, Grapevine / Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields, Deep Iris, Midnight Violet / Bamboo, Olive)

While I was die-cutting, I also cut the ‘Sweet’ Word from white cardstock. I then cut down a white card base and ran it through my die cutting machine with the Quilted Hearts Embossing Folder. I added foam tape onto the back of my patterned paper strips and adhered them into place. I also added a brown strip of paper behind the ‘Sweet’ Word and then adhered it to my card base with foam tape. I lastly adhered the stamped fruits into place also.

Lastly, I white heat embossed the ‘You’re So’ sentiment from Fabulous Flamingos onto a black strip of cardstock and adhered it tucked behind the ‘Sweet’ Word.

That finished up my card for today, I hope you enjoyed, and I’ll see you next time.

Hi friends, Leanne here! We are showcasing the Surprise Party paper on the blog today. When I think of a party, my mind immediately goes to the party decorations and sweet treats. That’s what inspired my card design today. I decorated my card with layers of the Surprise Party paper but with a fun twist - fringe!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Surprise Party Berry Bliss Sweet Shoppe Sweet Word Die You're Sweet Card by Eloise Blue Birthday Card by Leanne West

I started with a white A2 size card base. I picked out 4 different colors of the star pattern from the Surprise Party pack and trimmed them into 1.75” wide strips. I used a special pair of scissors that has multiple blades for cutting the fringe. I layered the fringe strips onto the card front. I left just a little of the white card front showing at the top and bottom.

Next I wanted to make a tag to add a sentiment and cupcake images onto and then tie to the top of the card. I cut out a tag with a die from the Build-a-Tag #1 set. I stamped a sentiment from Sweet Shoppe directly onto the top half of the tag. I stamped and Copic colored the cupcake, strawberries, and cherry also from Sweet Shoppe

After die cutting with the coordinating Sweet Shoppe dies, I adhered the images with dimensional foam squares to complete the tag. Once I had the tag tied to the top of the card front, I secured it in place with adhesive foam squares on the back. Lastly I added just a few iridescent lavender gems, because every party needs a little sparkle.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Cards with Wanda Guess

Hi everyone! Wanda Guess here! I'm very happy and excited to be the guest designer today on the Sunny Studio Blog! I'm always delighted to work with the beautiful and fun stamps and dies from Sunny Studio! They are some of the favs in my craft room for sure.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fabulous Flamingos Coastal Cuties Sending Sunshine Fluffy Clouds Summer Themed Pop Up Card by Wanda Guess

For today's post I combined several tropical and summer themed stamp sets and made a vacation scene in a pop up card! This one will have you reaching for a Mai Tai! Please visit me on my blog sometime! You can find me at A Blog Called Wanda or find me on Instagram. Let's get tropical!

This card was so much fun to make! I started by stamping and die cutting out a lot of pieces and parts! Palm trees, birds, flamingos, swimming cuties, pineapples, and leaves. Oh My! I combined several sets - Fabulous Flamingos, Coastal Cuties, and Sending Sunshine - for all of my images.

Then I had fun coloring everything with Copic Markers. I then added accents with a white gel pen ... and then some shimmering glitter Diamond Stickles! Once I had all my images colored and ready, I decided to create a pop up card scene that is like a vacation when you open it!

I used the awesome Catch A Wave dies set to die cut waves from teal cardstock. I added white gel pen accents to the waves too. I also die cut some puffy clouds for the back of the scene.

I used the fabulous Summer Splash paper pad to add colorful paper accents to the project. (Secret: I have about 20 Sunny Studio paper packs in my studio!! LOVE.) I assembled everything together placing all the images inside the pop up. I used the extra images to decorate the sides of the pop up.

The Sunny Studio stamp sets are all perfectly sized and scaled to mix and match, and that makes it so much fun to create with all your stamp sets. I loved combining everything for this card! I have so many more ideas for this release. Another winner for sure!!

Sweater Vest Dies Cards with Rachel and Lexa

Hello! It's Rachel here and I am so excited to share with you a couple of different ways to use the Sweater Vest Dies. Not only is this die perfect for Christmas time, but it works well with Father's Day and masculine birthdays as well!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Sweater Vest Dies Loopy Letters Dies Father's Day Masculine Cards by Rachel Alvarado and Lexa Levana

I went with two separate designs today that share a lot of similarities but look extremely different. The first one is a military tactical vest. I have two brothers that have served in the United States Marine Corps, and I had them in mind when creating this. I used some 12"x12" camouflage paper from Hobby Lobby and then used the dies to create my base. I added some pockets by simply using both a basic rectangle and square die and then rounding the bottom edges with a corner punch.

I added some "material" to the top of each pocket by die cutting some more camo with the long ribbed die that comes with this set. I also created some dog tags by die cutting some mirror paper with the teeny tiny, half circle looking die that comes with the Sliding Window Die. I cut them from mirror card stock and then attached them to some beaded string and then glued them to my card.

My second card is a fishing vest. Both my husband and my dad love to fish and this style card would be perfect for either one of them. I used the Loopy Letters Dies to create the word "dad" but you can customize it however you like.

I used the same technique as above to create all of my pockets except for the very tiny ones. For those, I used a very small square die and then used that same small half circle die from the Sliding Window Die Set to cut the bottom of each square to resemble a pocket. For the larger pockets, I once again used the corner punch. I actually used the v-neck die and cut it to size to add some top trim to the pockets. For some added interest, I also adhered some brown cord behind each pocket to resemble zippers and compartments like most fishing vests have.

I hope you enjoyed these cards today! Thanks so much for dropping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Hi everyone! Lexa here today with a dad's card using Sweater Vest Dies. But instead of using it as a vest shaped card, I'm trying to stretch out my creativity to create a square one. It's a simple and clean card which is a perfect style for the man of your life.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Sweater Vest Dies Loopy Letters Dies Father's Day Masculine Cards by Rachel Alvarado and Lexa Levana

I use this color combination, dark grey, blue and purple. I cut a 4.25"x4.25" light blue cardstock and a strip of 2.5"x4.25" purple cardstock. I use the dies to create diagonal holes along the purple stripe and some dark grey diamonds and the bow tie. I adhere the diamonds with foam tapes to create dimension.

The alphabets are cut using Loopy Letter Dies and they look so gorgeous! This is actually my first time using this dies and I'm pretty sure that I will use it more often from now on. I use the blue stripes patterned paper from Striped Silly 6x6 Paper Pad

Here's the closer look of my card. It's easy and simple, I hope you get inspired. Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you have an amazing day!
