Slice of Summer Cards with Juliana and Angelica

Hello Friends! It's Juliana here to share a lemony fresh card using the new Slice of Summer Stamps! I just love the smell of lemons and the color yellow, so I was immediately drawn to creating a card using these gorgeous layering stamps.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Slice Of Summer Fruit Cocktail Frilly Frames You're The Zest Punny Cards by Juliana Michaels and Angelica Conrad

I began by stamping the lemons from the Slice of Summer Stamp Set using Scrapbook.com's Premium Hybrid Layering Inks in Lantern Light, Rubber Ducky and Daffodil. For the leaves, I used the Fruit Cocktail Stamps and stamped them using Guacamole and Succulent. I then die cut them using the Slice of Summer Dies and Fruit Cocktail Dies.

For the background, I die cut a piece of Bristol paper using the stitched scallop die that is part of the Frilly Frames Stripes Dies. I inked up the paper with Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean and then added some Distress Oxide Ink in Salty Ocean. Next, I lightly splattered the paper with water using a paint brush and dabbed the excess water with a paper towel. For the final step on the background, I splattered the paper with white paint that I added just a bit of water to make it splatter easier. I then set this to the side to dry.

Once the background was dry, I began arranging the lemons and leaves to create a diagonal design. Double sided foam adhesive was added to some of the images for an extra bit of dimension. I then stamped the sentiment using stamps from the Slice of Summer Stamps. To complete the card, I added a few Clear Drops.

I love how this card makes me think of lemonade and summer...a perfect combination! Thanks for stopping by today and checking out what I created using the Slice of Summer Stamps.

Hi friends! Angelica here with a card showcasing the fabulous Slice Of Summer stamp set. I’m a sucker for anything citrus, especially in print!

These two-layer stamps are really easy to line up, and have stunning results. I used my MISTI to make mass producing quick and easy. Once I finished stamping, I used the coordinating dies to cut everything out.

To assemble the card, I cut a strip of pattern paper from the Summer Splash paper pack, and adhered it to white card stock. After I trimmed the panel down, I picked out words from the stamp set to put together my sentiment.

I die cut raspberry card stock using the large rectangle from the Frilly Frames Chevron dies, then attached to an A2 size card base. I added the trimmed card front, then used different sizes of foam squares to add the fruit. My final step was gluing pink stamped hearts around the fruit.

Thanks so much for stopping by. See you next week!

Fabulous Flamingos Cards with Eloise and Leanne

Hi everyone, Eloise here and today I have a card to share with you all using Fabulous Flamingos Stamp Set. I created a cluster of leaves at the bottom for my flamingos to sit on and a watercolour stripe background.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fabulous Flamingos Frilly Frames Sweet Word Die Summer Themed Cards by Eloise Blue and Leanne West

To start off I stamped my images onto some white cardstock using black ink. I then coloured them in with Copic Markers and cut them out.

(Copic Markers Used: RV10, RV13, RV25, RV19 / R22, R24, R27, R29 / YG01, YG03, YG07, YG09 / YG61, YG63, YG67, G28 / YG03, YG23, YG13, YG17 / YR00, YR02, YR12, YR18 / BG10, BG11, BG23, BG49 / Y00, Y11, Y17, Y19)

Next, I took a piece of watercolour cardstock and some Winsor and Newton watercolours and painted blue strips horizontally across the piece. I flicked on some clean water and dried it off with a heat tool.

I then added adhesive to the backs of all my images and adhered the leaves at the bottom into place. I then layered over the flowers and adhered my flamingos over the top. For my sentiment I white heat embossed the ‘You’re So Flamazing’ onto a think black strip. I tied a hemp cord bow around one side and adhered it into place.

That finished up my card for today. Thanks so much for stopping by today and I’ll see you next week.

Hi there! Leanne here to share a brightly colored tropical inspired card showcasing the fun images from Fabulous Flamingos. My card is A2 size and features a custom two tone water colored background. To create this background I used two Distress Oxide colors - Wild Honey and Picked Raspberry.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fabulous Flamingos Frilly Frames Sweet Word Die Summer Themed Cards by Eloise Blue and Leanne West

I used a messy water color technique to cover the entire card front. Wild Honey on the top two thirds and Picked Raspberry on the bottom. I tried to make it splotchy to add interest. Next I layered the Frilly Frames Stripes over top. I Copic colored a flamingo along with several leaves and flowers from the Fabulous Flamingos stamp set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fabulous Flamingos Frilly Frames Sweet Word Die Summer Themed Cards by Eloise Blue and Leanne West

I adhered the images in a clustered arrangement towards the right side of the card using low profile dimensional foam squares. For the greeting, I wanted to combine a stamped and die cut sentiment that could be incorporated into this focal point cluster.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fabulous Flamingos Frilly Frames Sweet Word Die Summer Themed Cards by Eloise Blue and Leanne West

I stamped and heat embossed in white the “you’re so” on black card stock. I trimmed it into a skinny strip with a fish tail end and then tucked under the flamingo. Next I used the Sweet Word die. I created a layered look by cutting the “sweet” twice - one from white glitter card stock and one from black then adhering slightly offset. To finish off this card I added a few clear sequins plus some extra tiny flowers around the main focal point cluster.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Cards with Amy Kolling

Hello! Amy Kolling here and am very excited to be a guest on the Sunny Studios blog today. I have two cards to share that really focus on the spring season … my favorite!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Hawaiian Hibiscus Frilly Frames Sunny Sentiments Hello Word Die Friendship Cards by Amy Kolling

Hibiscus is one of my favorite flowers … they are so gorgeous. The Hawaiian Hibiscus stamps are so incredible detailed with all the layers! One little detail these stamps have is that they are numbered so you know exactly which layer is next to stamp!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Hawaiian Hibiscus Frilly Frames Sunny Sentiments Hello Word Die Friendship Cards by Amy Kolling

I stamped my hibiscus in shades of orange, yellow, and coraly reds. Using the coordinating dies, they were each die cut along with the leaves. I wanted the hibiscus to be the focus on my card so I kept the rest bright white by layering them on a white Frilly Frames Striped Dies. A simple die cut Hello in bold black cardstock was adhered along with a few white gems.

Rainbows seem to be everywhere and they certainly bring happiness and sunshine, right? I love the sentiments and elements from Sunny Sentiments. I created my own rainbow using ¼’ strips of colored cardstock. Each strip was added to a scrap piece of white cardstock to adhere easily. My rainbow measures 1 ½’ wide. I added the rainbow to the center and went to work on the other elements.

The stitched cloud stamps are adorable along with the sun that was stamped with a smiley face. The cloud was the perfect place to add part of my sentiment in black ink. For the rest of my sentiment, it was stamped at the bottom of a strip of green cardstock that was die cut with the grass border die from Sunny Sentiments Dies. A few bees were added with foam adhesive along with my clouds and cute sun which was embellished with some crystal Stickles.

Thanks for joining me here today!!

Silly Sloths Cards with Rachel and Lexa

Hello and Happy Friday everyone! It's Rachel here today to share with you a card using the adorable Silly Sloths Stamp Set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Silly Sloths How's It Hanging Wanna Hang Out Punny Cards by Rachel Alvarado and Lexa Levana

These sloths are just the cutest! I created a slim line card measuring 8.5" tall by 3.5" wide so that I could fit as many of the sloths as possible. This sized card fits perfectly into a #8 sized envelope but will also fit easily into the standard US Business Envelope.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Silly Sloths How's It Hanging Wanna Hang Out Punny Cards by Rachel Alvarado and Lexa Levana

To start, I first created my background by blending some Distress Oxide Inks (Antique Linen, Twisted Citron, and Mowed Lawn) onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I then loosely splattered this ink blending with water and allowed it to stand for a minute before gently blotting it dry with a paper towel.

I then splattered this panel with diluted Opaque White Paint and Black and Green Watercolor Paints. My images were all stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto another sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, colored with Copic Sketch Markers and diecut with the coordinating Silly Sloths Dies. I also added one more branch from the A Bird's Life Stamp Set for the sleeping sloth to lie on.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a lovely weekend!

------------------------------------------------

Hi everyone! Lexa here with a card starring Silly Sloth Stamps and the coordinating die. I tried to make a split card, which is simple but super adorable and lots of fun. Let's get started!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Silly Sloths How's It Hanging Wanna Hang Out Punny Cards by Rachel Alvarado and Lexa Levana

I stamped all the images with Versafine black ink and watercolor them with Distress Markers. After I finished I cut them with the coordinating dies. I use green leaves patterned paper from Summer Splash Paper and plain green cardstock using stitched scallop dies for the trees illusion. Here's the closer look.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Silly Sloths How's It Hanging Wanna Hang Out Punny Cards by Rachel Alvarado and Lexa Levana

It's a split card window on the front. So you basically can see through the inside part of the card from outside. The trick is to attached the upper and bottom part using the images you will use.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Silly Sloths How's It Hanging Wanna Hang Out Punny Cards by Rachel Alvarado and Lexa Levana

Any border dies will do the trick. Or you can use simpler thing like straight lines on both sides. I will give you more pictures so you can get the idea.

I also stamped some hibiscus flowers and leaves inside. And as if four sloths in front of the card aren't enough, I'll add two more. Just because they are so cute and it gives you an element of surprise.

That's all for today, I hope you like today's card as much as I do. And I would recommend you to give this a try. Have a wonderful day!
