Big Bold Greetings Cards with Marine and Waleska

Hello crafty friends, Marine here with you today, back with this fun and bright birthday slimline card showcasing some chubby tropical birds, as well as the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from Big Bold Greetings.

I started off by stamping my images on Transotype perfect coloring paper using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and Graph'it Brush markers. And as very often I picked the stamps from different sets to create a cute mix & match on my card. The birds are from Chickie Baby and are supposed to be chicks, but I turned them into tropical birds using turquoise shades, the butterflies are from Bunnyville, the leafy border is from Tropical Scenes, and the branch is from Little Birdie.

Next I created the background. I cut an 8,5 x 3,5 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel, and used one of my favorite color combos: squeezed lemonade, dried marigold, kitsch flamingo and picked raspberry oxide inks. This combination is versatile and can be used on any card for any theme, but I think it fits the tropical vibe quite nicely.

Once the ink blending was done, I used a birch tree stencil from my stash and the same oxide inks to emphasize the jungle look I wanted to give to my card, and then I attached the images on the panel using 1mm foam squares and 3mm glue dots.

I created my greeting in two parts, and attached them in the middle of my panel. I first gold heat embossed "Happy Birthday" from Big Bold Greetings on vellum, and cut those words using the coordinating die. And next I white heat embossed the phrase "You're one cool birdie" on a slim brown banner. The words "You're one cool" are from Chickie Baby, and the word "Birdie" is from Little Birdie.

Hi friends, Waleska here! If you love Pandas and Rainbows this card is for you! For my card today I used the Panda Party Stamps, the Big Bold Greetings and lots of colors!

I wanted to create a very colorful card having a contrasting color, in this case black, and to do that I used colorful backgrounds with black and white cute pandas. I started by cutting the Comic Strip Everyday Dies on white cardstock and coloring each of the panels with Oxide inks:Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet, I almost always like to add more interest to my inked pieces with water and sparkle watercolor. I adhere this pieces to the comic strip inspired die. I stamped and color all of the pandas, cupcakes and banners with copic markers and hand cut them.  

I stamped and cut with the coordinating die the sentiment Make a Wish from the Big Bold Greetings set and adhere all the cute pandas. I finally adhered this panel to a white card base and this card is done! Ready to wish happy birthday someone special. Thank you friends for stopping by today! Wonderful Windows Die Focused Cards with Marie and Catherine

Hello Crafty Friends, Marie here! Thank Heavens, it's officially Spring! Out with the cold and in with the warmth! Spring brings about renewal, and rebirth within nature as well as within ourselves. Spring can also be a reminder to revive or nurture past friendships. In my case, Spring couldn't have come at a better time as I reconnect with a dear friend from my high school days! My card creation today is a friendship card I created for my friend to show her my gratitude for finally reconnecting after so many years. This card features the Wonderful Windows Dies from Sunny Studio Stamps' Spring 2023 collection. It sure is wonderful as it's one of my favorite dies from this release! I also paired this window scene with tiny, adorable bees from their Garden Critters Stamps.  

The first step to create this friendship card was to cut out two A2 sized card panels from Bristol Smooth Cardstock paper. This paper is super smooth and perfect for ink blending. Then taking the background panel, I used a brick stencil, and ink blended a light lavender color using Milled Lavender Distress Oxide Ink. To darken the edges, I went in with Shaded Lilac Distress Ink. For the bottom portion of the card, I inked it with some Mowed Lawn Distress ink and splattered some water droplets to create some texture.

For all my die cuts except the flowers, I used Bristol smooth cardstock because it takes Copic markers very well. Starting with my window frame, I colored it using copic markers in cool grey tones. I used the colors Cool Gray No.3 (C-3) , and Cool Gray No 1. (C-1). For the window curtains I used some beautiful yellow pattern paper from the Spring Fever Paper. For the inside window portion and the top triangle window pieces, I used Vintage Paper Distress Oxide to mimic the warmth of a softly lit room. I used some gold metallic paper for the curtain holders. And for the flower box, I used Copic Markers in the colors Chamois ( E35) and Sepia (E37) and to make it a terracotta color, I layered over top Rose Blush (PP4) from Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers. All the dainty and adorable mini flower blooms were cut from various colors of red, and shades of pink cardstock. For all the tiny leaves, I used Yellow Green Copic marker in (YG03) and did some Mowed Lawn distress ink for shading on the base. For the cute fence, I used Sunny's Scalloped Fence Dies and colored it using Mauve Shadow (BV00) and Cool Grey No. (C-1) Copic Markers. I positioned all my die cut elements and adhered them to my card front panel with Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue. 

Next, I stamped out all the bee images onto watercolor paper.  I used Faber-Castell watercolor pencils to color all the images. I cut out the bees using their corresponding die from the Garden Critters Dies. I adhered the bees using repositionable double sided tape adhesive. For some detailing, I used a white Gelly Roll pen to create some flying bee trails. 

Moving on to the inside of my card, I did the same brick stenciling and ink blending as I did on the front to create continuity. I stamped out my Sentiment from the Garden Critters Stamp onto 110 lb. cardstock, and used some banner dies to cut them out. I also inked around the edges for some added interest with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide. Finally, I used some bee images on the inside, and voila all finished and ready to personalize!

Hello Crafty Friends! Catherine here, and today I am sharing a card created with the Wonderful Windows Dies. This die set is so versatile, it comes with an arched radius frame, outer rectangular frame, curtains, flower box, and shutters which you can add to your design.  For my card, I used the arched radius frame, shutters, and flower box.

For the background, I die cut A2 white cardstock with a stitched rectangle die.  I ink blended the background with Spun Sugar, Dried Marigold, Shaded Lilac, and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxides. I lightly splattered Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide mixed with water for added interest and set the background aside to dry.

Next, I die cut the outer rectangular frame, shutters, flower bed, flowers, hinges, and arched frame out of white cardstock. I ink blended the shutter panels and flowers with the same color combination as the background. I added a few leaves ink blended with Shabby Shutters Distress Oxide. I ink blended the flower bed and hinges with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide.

For the “gang,” I stamped the critters from Cruising Critters Stamps onto white cardstock. To fit as many of the critters into the frame as possible, I masked off the bunny with a post it note. I fussy cut the gang and colored the critters with Copic Markers listed in my blog link below. For the window background, I ink blended a piece of white cardstock trimmed to the same size as the arched frame and ink blended with the same color combination. I adhered the gang onto the window background and then onto the card background along with the remaining window pieces.

I added the flower bed along with some flowers. For the bottom of the card, I added a white fence and grass ink blended with Shabby Shutters and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide using the Picket Fence Border Die.

I finished off the card with sentiments from Holiday Express Stamps stamped onto white banners. I added some clear enamel dots for added details.

Panda Party Cards with Isha and Lien

Hello everyone! Isha here today with a slimline rainbow color card featuring the Panda Party stamps and coordinating dies. There are so many playful panda images on this stamp set.

To start. I sponged some distress oxide inks in rainbow colors to create the background. I then added more ink through a brick stencil for added texture. Flick water and white paint.

Stamp the sentiment from the Big Bold Greetings stamp set. Stamp the pandas, birthday caps, muffin from the Panda Party stamp set, die-cut using the coordinating dies. Color the images using copic markers. Adhere to the layer to create a scene. Adhere this panel to a white card base.

Hi crafty friends! It's Lien here, with a very bright and happy birthday card. I really love the cute little pandas from the Pandy Party stamp set. Pandas are just amazing critter images to have in your stash, they're adorable, they're really easy to color and because the coloring is very muted, you can go absolutely wild for your background and pull in all the colors your crafty heart desires!

I stamped three of these party bears + the banner with alcohol marker friendly ink and colored them in with my Ohuhu markers. Once they were colored, I put the paper back in my Misti and stamped them all again with Versafine Onyx Black ink so I could add clear gloss embossing powder for a nice shiny outline. I cut them out with the coordinating dies and set them aside to work on my background. 

For the background, I die cut one of the ovals from the Scalloped Oval Mat 1 die set from watercolor cardstock. I masked off a portion at the bottom and added color to the rest with Distress spray stains. You can also do some ink smooshing here and intensify the color around the edges with ink blending!

I covered my A2 card with a piece of light blue cardstock and added the oval on top with foam tape. I love dimension, so I also added some foam tape to the back of the stamped images. A really easy card, but with all that color, it definitely packs a punch!

Tranquil Tulips Cards with Bobbi and Cathy

Hi Sunny friends! It’s Bobbi sharing a card using the new Tranquil Tulips stamps and dies. These layered beauties are so pretty in any color. I’m using shades of oranges for my bouquet today. I arranged them in a rusty watering can using the Watering Can stamps and dies.

To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I stamped the tulips, stems and leaves following the layered numbers provided on the stamp set sheet. I also stamped the watering can in Ranger Distress Oxide Ink in Lost Shadow and colored it using Copic Sketch Markers in YR27, YR24, E55, E53, E50, and E40. I also used a few cool grays to shade some of the Lost Shadow inked lines. The YRs create the rusty spots! I cut the blossoms, leaves, and stems as well as the watering can using the coordinating dies.

For the card base, I attached a grey and white paper from our Subtle Grey Tones pattern paper pack for the background and two 1/8″ strips of orange and peach to the bottom of the 6″ long pattern, leaving 1″ strip of white at the bottom of the panel. I stamped the "thinking of you" sentiment from the Watering Can set in the white space. I arranged the tulips in the watering can and added a hemp twine bow to the can’s handle to finish the card.

Hey friends! Cathy here today and Spring has sprung in my neck of the woods. I couldn’t be happier about the warmer weather! The tulips are blooming and inspired me on this card today featuring the beautiful Tranquil Tulips Stamps.

 

This is an A2 size card and I began with the lace borders on the left side of the card front. First, I inked a 1” x 7” piece of white cardstock with Lost Shadow Distress ink and placed a doily lace die from the Ribbon & Lace Border Dies face down along one edge. I then placed the straight stitched die from the same dies face down right next to the lace die, taped them in place and die-cut the cardstock. I cut a piece of black cardstock 3/4" x 7” and die-cut one edge with a small scallop border die from the Ribbon & Lace Border Dies. I adhered the gray piece centered on the black piece and adhered them to the card front. I then trimmed the excess from the top and bottom edges.

To add a little more gray and extra interest, I adhered gray diamonds to a portion of the card front. I first inked a piece of white cardstock with Lost Shadow Distress ink and die-cut it using the lattice portion of the Frilly Frames Lattice Die. I placed the lattice frame on the card front as a guide and adhered the die-cut diamonds in the pattern shown.

 

Next, I stamped the Tranquil Tulips Stamps on white cardstock and die-cut them using the coordinating dies. I adhered them to the card front and trimmed the excess along the bottom edge of the card.

 

To finish, I stamped the “Thanks” sentiment from the Big Bold Greetings Stamps in Versamark ink on black cardstock, heat embossed it in white and die-cut it using the coordinating dies.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Cards with Rachel Alvarado

Hello crafty friends! It's Rachel from RachelAlvaradoDesigns.com, and I'm excited to share two projects with you today using products from the latest Sunny Studio Stamps release. For my first project, I created an A6 sized box card that showcases the super cute Clucky Chicken Stamp Set. I paired this set with some images from the Seasonal Trees Stamp Set to create a fun 3D scene. 

When folded, my card measures at 4.5" x 6.25" and fits easily into a standard A6 (or even a 5x7) envelope for mailing. All of my images were stamped onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, colored with Copic Markers, and cut out with both the Clucky Chicken and Seasonal Trees Die Sets.

Copic Colors Used:

• Reds: R35, R59, R89
• White: 0, C00, C1, C3
• Chicks/Hay: Y19, Y21, E34
• Tree: YG23, YG25, YG67
• Birdhouse: B12, B16, B18

I also added a cute little white picket fence around the perimeter using the Picket Fence Border Die Set. For my grass, I used both the grass die from the Picket Fence Die Set as well as the grass die from the Slimline Nature Border Dies along with some green card stock. For my background sky, I trimmed a piece of the sky/cloud patterned paper that comes in the new Spring Fever Paper Pad.

For my second project, I made a simple card using the adorable new Build-A-Birdhouse Die Set. I layered my card with some pink patterned paper from the same paper pad that I had used above. After stamping my sentiment from the A Bird's Life Stamp Set, I then die cut a basic circle and blended it with some Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick, and Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Inks. I added another piece of a white picket fence to this circular piece with some liquid adhesive and then trimmed off the edges of the fence so that it was flush with the edge of the circle. I then added this piece to the front of my card and framed it with some gorgeous white scalloped circles that I had die cut using the Fancy Frames Circles Die Set.

Lastly, I added my birds and bird house with some 3D Foam adhesive tape for some extra dimension. I love how sweet these birds are and how simple this set is to use.
