Watering Can Die Focused Cards with Bobbi and Catherine

Hello friends. It’s Bobbi here with a floral card using the new Watering Can and coordinating dies and Lovely Lilacs stamps and dies. Both sets are easy to achieve desired results with their layered stamps. I am also using the Woodgrain Embossing folder and the Icing Border dies.

To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I stamped (using all the image layers) and die cut the water can and lilacs. I used Distress Oxide Inks for the stamping. Once they were dry, I added a little more “vintage” using my Copics. Here’s the list of colors I used:

Watering Can: Speckled Egg and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Inks. I also used Copics in YR27, YR24, E57, E44 and #43 for the rusty spots.
Lilacs: Tattered Rose, Antique Linen, Scattered Straw, Saltwater Taffy, Gathered Twigs, Walnut Stain, Bundled Sage and Mowed Lawn. I also used Copics in R22 and YG67.
Butterfly: Copics in R24, R22, R20 and Y21.

I hand drew the strip of woodgrain to create a ledge for the watering can to “rest” on. I colored it in E59, E57, E55, E43, E53 and W4. I assembled the watering can with the lilacs, adding a few foam tabs behind the front two lilacs to make them stand out a bit more from the background florals.

For the card front panel background, I used the Woodgrain Embossing folder on the top and three strips of the Icing Border dies at the bottom, allowing room for the woodgrain strip in between. I attached the watering can and added shadowing around the base using W6, We and W1 Copics.

Lastly, I added a small notecard to the floral bouquet. I cut a notecard to measure 1-1/2″ wide X 7/8″ tall when folded. I added more icing border die cuts to the front and then the butterfly from the Watering Can set.

Inside the notecard, I stamped the “Thinking of you” phrase from the Watering Can set. I stamped it twice masking the words to create a 2-line phrase to fit inside.

Hello Friends! Catherine here, sharing a watering can themed card with a beautiful bouquet of flowers!

To start, I die cut a piece of white card stock 4.25” x 5.5.” I ink blended the cardstock with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I then die cut the frame with Frilly Frames Quatrefoil Dies. I adhered the frame onto the background with foam tape.

Next, I stamped the watering can and butterflies from Watering Can Stamps and die cut with Watering Can Dies. I splattered some blue watercolor ink onto the watering can for texture.

Inks:
Pinks:  Altenew Blush, Hero Arts Cotton Candy, Hero Arts Bubble Gum
Yellows: Pinkfresh Lemon Whip, Sweet Mustard, Marigold
Oranges: Pinkfresh Peach Fuzz, Apricot, Clementine
Greens: Hero Arts Key Lime Fizz, Green Apple, Moss

To make the bouquet, I used the Timeless Tulips Stamps, Cheerful Daisies Stamps, and Spring Greenery Dies. I finished off the card with a tag from Stitched Arch Dies and a sentiment from Lovely Lilacs Stamps.

Wedded Bliss Cards with Vanessa and Audrey

Hello to you! Vanessa here with a pretty shadow box card using the cute Wedded Bliss set.

I first constructed the shadow box card using the Stitched Rectangle Dies and the Stitched Heart 2 Dies. After I had inked the background with Broken Glass, Cracked Pistachio and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide Inks, I stamped all the images, colored the elements with Copic markers, die-cut the pieces with the matching dies and adhered everything to the card.

Hello friends! Audrey here with a fun wedding card for you! 

To create this card, I started off with a piece of white cardstock cut slightly smaller than an A2 size. I ink blended some Saltwater Taffy Distress ink in the bottom right corner on an angle and faded it out as I move up the panel. Then, I splattered it with some gold watercolor. I stamped and colored the adorable penguin pair from Wedded Bliss and die cut them with the coordinating Wedded Bliss dies. To ground the bride and groom, I used a sentiment from the Inside Greetings Congrats sentiment set. I stamped that in black ink, and popped them up just above it.  

To add some more interest to the panel, I used the Icing Borders to add some scallops to both the left and right side of the panel, then added a tiny strip of gold glitter cardstock to each edge to finish it off nicely. For another touch of gold, I added a trio of tiny hearts using the Basic Mini Shapes Dies 2 die set. To finish off the card, I added some white gel pen accents and popped the panel up with foam tape on an A2 card base.

Country Carnival Cards with Bobbi and Catherine

Hello Sunny Studio friends friends. It’s Bobbi here with a fun carnival card using the new stamp set, Country Carnival. This set is filled with all the fun a carnival offers including a merry-go-round, Ferris wheel, big tent and more.

My card measures 5″ X 7″ in size. I stamped, colored and die cut the elements from the set with the coordinating dies. I used the following Copic marker colors to color in the images:

Blues: B26, B05, B02, and B00
Reds: R89, R29, R24, R17, and R14
Yellows: Y38, Y28, Y26, Y18, Y15, and Y06
Browns: E57, E55, E43
Grays: C5, C3, C1

On the bottom half of the front panel, I added 3/4″ wide strips of blue pattern paper from the Dots and Stripes Jewel Tones paper pack and 80lb Neenah white cardstock. I alternated the pattern designs. I stamped the “Enjoy the ride” phrase on the upper white strip.

All of the colored die cut elements were attached to the card front, with some of the smaller ones trailing down towards the phrase. I used Scrapbook Adhesive foam tabs to attach the big tent, Ferris wheel, popcorn cart and ticket office for dimension. Little bears from the set were added to the carnival scene to finish the card.

Hi Friends! Catherine here today sharing a fun carnival tent card created with the adorable Country Carnival set!

To start, I cut a piece of white cardstock 6.6”W x 3.3”H. I scored vertical lines measuring from 1.65” from the left and right hand side of the cardstock. The two score lines will form the two front flaps. To make room for the triangle top, I made a vertical incision 0.3” from the top of the cardstock along each of the two score lines and trimmed horizontally across each of the front flaps.

For the top of the tent, I used a ruler and drew a triangle 4.3” W x 2”H on white cardstock and I fussy cut the triangle out. I repeated this using cardstock from Heroic Halftones Paper Pack but shortened the height of the triangle to 1.8”H in order to have a border. I die cut cardstock from Striped Silly Paper Pack using Icing Borders to make the bunting. I also used cardstock from the same paper pack to die cut the flag using the bunting piece from Wonky Windows.

I cut two rectangles 1.65”W x 3”H out of the same cardstock from Heroic Halftones Paper Pack and adhere it to the outside of the front flaps. For the tent curtains, I drew and fussy cut two triangular shapes out of the Striped Silly Paper Pack and white cardstock.

For the inside of the card, I inked the sky with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide. For the grass, I used Slimline Nature Borders and ink blended with Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron. I mirror imaged stamped some of the cute bears. I colored the bears, ferris wheel, ticket booth, and popcorn cart with Copic markers from the Country Carnival Stamps and die cut using the coordinating dies, Country Carnival Dies. I added some clouds and sun from Balloon Rides, and white heat embossed the sentiments. I added a card wrap by white heat embossing balloons onto a strip of vellum 8.5”W x.9”H.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Cards with Tina Smith

Hello Crafty Friends! My name is Tina Smith, I have a blog called Cards & Coffee Time. I am super excited to be joining Sunny Studio this month as a Guest Designer on their Blog celebrating their amazing Spring Release:) Love and Springtime is in the air and I am so happy to share two projects using some of the new items from this fantastic release! 

For my first project, I will be creating the adorable Passionate Penguins Stamp set along with the coordinating dies. I paired them with some Spring colored patterned papers and also used the new Spring Greenery Die set for a bit of interest!! 

For my second project I created a fun everyday card with the Heart Bouquet Stamp, the coordinating die and one of the penguins from the Passionate Penguins Stamp. I love that you can mix and match these stamps! I used the Spring Greenery Die set to create a background full of leaves and love the outcome!

Icing Border Die Focused Cards with Audrey and Vanessa

Hello friends! Audrey here! Today, I have a fun card to share with you that uses the Icing Borders in a unconventional way! 

To create my card, I started off with a piece of watercolor paper cut to 4" x 5.25". I used Distress ink in Salty Ocean to watercolor an underwater background. I die cut a piece of kraft cardstock with the Slimline Nature Borders dies, then inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide before splattering the entire panel with watered down white acrylic paint. Then, I stamped and colored the adorable shark from the Sea You Soon stamp set, and die cut him with the coordinating Sea You Soon Dies. I used images from the Best Fishes stamp set to decorate the ocean floor, and die cut them with the coordinating Best Fishes Dies. 

I popped all of the images up with foam tape, then used the Icing Borders dies cut from white cardstock to add waves all around them. I cut them smaller to fit in the spaces around the shark. I stamped a sentiment from the Best Fishes stamp set on a white banner and popped that up at the top of the panel, then adhered the panel to an A2 card base. To finish off my card, I added some white gel pen accents and a scattering of tiny bubbles.

Hello to you! Vanessa here with a winter card using the Icing Border Dies.

I started with a white cardstock panel and stamped the penguins from the Penguin Pals set. Now I masked the images and die-cut the borders from masking paper. After I had adhered the masks to the panel, I inked the background using Tumbled Glass, Victorian Velvet and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Inks. Then I removed the masks, colored the images, added snow with a white gel pen and adhered the panel to the card base.

Finally, I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment from Feeling Frosty onto a strip of cardstock, notched one edge and adhered it to the card.
