Backyard Bugs & Woo Hoo Owl Birthday Card with Lindsey

Hi, Lindsey here. Today I combined Backyard Bugs with Woo Hoo and a sentiment from Comfy Creatures to create a sweet little birthday card. I just love how all the Sunny Studio stamp sets work so well together. There are so many possibilities when you can mix and match images and sentiments from different sets. Let's get started!

Sunny Studio: Owl & Snail Birthday Card by Lindsey Sams (using Backyard Bugs & Woo Hoo stamps)

I started with a 4 bar size card base made from some brown woodgrain paper. I thought this would go nicely with the little nature friends I planned to use on my card. Next, I cut a slightly smaller stitched rectangle from white cardstock to do my stamping on. I had to do a bit of masking to create my scene but nothing too involved. I decided to use the mushroom house, snail, ladybugs, and bee from the Backyard Bugs stamp set and the owl from Woo Hoo to create my scene. I colored all my images with Copic Markers. I slightly curved the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Comfy Creatures stamp set over the top of the owl's head.

To finish my scene, I hand drew some grass and outlined my images with a blue Copic marker. I backed the stamped panel with a red scalloped rectangle to make the red in the scene really pop. Finally, I attached the scalloped rectangle to my woodgrain card base with some foam tape. I just love how all these cute little critters worked together. So sweet!

Comfy Creatures Island Window Card with Eloise

Hey everyone! Eloise here today and I’m here to create a super fun window type card for today’s project. I really enjoyed all the stamp sets from this release, but honestly my personal favourite set from this release was the Island Getaway set. I loved that palm tree image so so much! Plus all the other elements in the set to make scenes, which is my thing, just make the set so amazing. So for todays card I’m going to be using the Island Getaway set along with the Comfy Creatures, Summer Picnic and Sending my Love stamp sets to create my card today. I’m also going to be pulling in the Fresh and Fruity Dies to create my windows in my card today also.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Island Window Card by Eloise Blue (using Comfy Creatures Summer Picnic, Sending My Love & Island Getaway)

So to begin my card today I knew I wanted some images to peak out through some sort of windows. So I was digging through my stash to see if there was some simple shape die that I could use to make a repeating pattern to create some windows and I came across the die that cuts the orange slice in the Fresh and Fruity Die set and it was just a simple circle die – so I used this to create my windows today. I ruled up some guides just using a light hand and a pencil and make spots so the circle die could line up well and create the 6 circles I wanted. Once it was ruled up I ran my die through 6 times to create the pattern.

I now needed to pick out my images I wanted to use. So I used the tree, island, waves border, hibiscus flower and the monkey in the bathing suit from Island Getaway, the panda / koala head, tail and bodies in bathers from the Comfy Creatures set and the cat head from Sending my Love. I coloured all my images in using my Zig Clean Colour Markers once again and then die cut them all using the coordinating dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Island Window Card by Eloise Blue (using Comfy Creatures Summer Picnic, Sending My Love & Island Getaway)

Now it was time to arrange my card together. I first placed a blue cardstock panel behind the window panel and drew around the circles to know where to put my images. I worked through one circle at a time positioning and cutting down the images to fit inside the circle so it doesn’t hang over into the above and below circles. I used all flat runner adhesive for this, as it was easier to keep it all flat.

To finish up my card, I first adhered a piece of green cardstock to my card base and then adhered the blue panel with all the images adhered to the green card base too. I then used some foam adhesive to adhere the window piece over the blue piece with the images and then I needed to figure out the sentiment. I pulled out my Summer Picnic stamp set and stamped ‘relax, it’s your day!’ in some Versamark ink on some black cardstock and heat embossed it in white. I lastly adhered the sentiment with some foam tape also to the window piece and that finished up my card.

I hope you enjoyed my window card today, I had a lot of fun making it and being able to use so many of those cute little animals that you can sort of dress up.

Tropical Paradise Watercolored Flamingo Card with Vanessa

Hi everyone! Vanessa here with a flamingo card using Tropical Paradise

I've seen many pretty patterns with flamingos everywhere and wanted to create my own on a card with a messy watercolor look.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Paradise Watercolored Flamingo Birthday Card by Vanessa Menhorn.

I stamped the flamingos repeatedly onto a panel of watercolor paper and messily colored them with Peerless Watercolors. Now I added spritzes of ink and adhered the panel to my pink card base. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock, trimmed it and adhered it with foam tape. Then I die-cut stars from pink and gold glitter cardstock and adhered them, together with gold sequins.

This technique can be used for many images, the possibilities are endless! I hope you liked today's card!

Thanks for stopping by :)

Fresh and Fruity Birthday Card with Lexa

Hi everyone! Lexa here with the whole fruity gang to share a birthday card starring the Fresh and Fruity stamp set and coordinating dies. Don't you think that they are the cutest gang everrr??

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fresh & Fruity Googly Eyes Fruit Birthday Card by Lexa Levana.

I started with a panel of 4.25"x 5.5" white cardstock and a blue striped patterned paper in the same size. I had the thought of giving these fruits legs (since they already have the smiley faces, why not?) and they were dancing together. So drew some legs for them, and I think it makes them even cuter. I lightly blended Tumbled Glass Distress Ink in the bottom part of my card.

I stamped all the images with Versafine Onyx Black and watercolored them with Distress Markers, my favorite!  The pink flowers on the lemon and the pear are from Comfy Creatures, I love to add extra details every time. The sentiment also comes from the same set. And you know that I love sequins, right? This various size clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh are so pretty. Here's a closer look at the gang...

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fresh & Fruity Googly Eyes Fruit Birthday Card by Lexa Levana.

I can't get enough of googly eyes in my life. LOL in fact I really love to shake and see them moving, so much fun! I hope you like today's card as much as I do. Have a wonderful weekend. xx

Summer Picnic & Comfy Creatures Birthday Picnic Card with Lexa

Hi everyone. Lexa here today with a super fun mix of sets, Summer Picnic and Comfy Creatures. I think both of these sets are a match made in heaven. They go together really, really well. As in this card, the panda and his fellow monkey are having a picnic together under the apple tree.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Summer Picnic & Comfy Creatures Birthday Card by Lexa Levana.

I started with a 4.25" x 5.5" neenah solar white as my card base and die cut the stitched curve on the top and the bottom. After I got the middle part, I started to blend some Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink from the top towards the middle for my sky. I stamped all my images with black ink, I use Versafine Onyx Black, because I will watercolor all of them with Distress Markers.

One of the best things about working with clear stamps is you can bend your stamps as I did with this card, I bent the "happy birthday" and "from the whole gang" to follow the curve. And the happiest part about making a scene is to arrange them all together..haha.. I adhered some of them with glue and the others with mounting tapes so you can see some dimensions here and there.

I hope you like my card for today! Have a wonderful weekend to all my crafty friends. :)

Comfy Creatures & Summer Picnic Panda Card by Vanessa

Hi sweet Sunny Studio fans! Vanessa here with a cute panda card combining Summer Picnic and Comfy Creatures

I love that the sets work all so well together!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Comfy Creatures & Summer Picnic Let's Do Lunch Panda Card by Vanessa Menhorn.

I started with a white card base and softly inked the bottom left area with pink dye ink. Then I added tiny drops of pink and white ink with a brush. Now I die-cut a picnic blanket from plaid patterned paper, trimmed it and adhered it to the card. I stamped, colored and die-cut the images and adhered them (using foam tape for some). Finally, I stamped the sentiment.

Summer Picnic & Comfy Creatures Monkey Shaker Card with Lindsey

Hi!  Lindsey here today sharing a fun shaker card combining two adorable sets, Comfy Creatures and Summer Picnic. These two sets work so well together. I mean, who better to go on a fun picnic than some adorable critters. My card features two cute little monkeys having a tree top picnic. Let's get started on how I created this card.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Summer Picnic and Comfy Creatures Monkey Shaker Card by Lindsey Sams.

To get started, I stamped the tree from Summer Picnic three times in a row. I only stamped the top of the tree because that's where I wanted the monkeys to have their picnic. I had to mask the tree in the middle, so I could overlap the tree top on either side. I colored the tree tops with Copic markers and fussy cut the tree panel out. Next I stamped two of the sitting critter bodies from Comfy Creatures. Then, I stamped one of each of the cute little monkey faces on top of the bodies. I also stamped two soda bottles for the monkeys to enjoy at their picnic. I colored all the images with Copic markers. I fussy cut the monkeys and used the coordinating die from Summer Picnic for the soda bottles.

In order to create a shaker card I needed a frame, so I cut one from some Kraft cardstock. I then attached a piece of acetate behind the frame so you could see thru to the background and shaker bits. I attached all of my colored images to the front of the frame on top of the acetate and Kraft cardstock. I just used a tape runner for everything except the soda bottle in the front. I popped it up with a little foam tape. For the background, I used a piece of white cardstock that I blended some blue print distress ink on. I also added my sentiment from Summer Picnic and some stars from the Star Border die.

I added a double layer of foam tape to the back of the frame panel and layed it on top of my background panel which had the shaker bits laying on top of it. By doing this, I trapped the sequins and beads inside so they could now move around.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Summer Picnic and Comfy Creatures Monkey Shaker Card by Lindsey Sams.

That's it for me today! I hope you'll check back to the blog for more inspiration, and I can't wait to see what ideas you come up with. Have a great day!

Comfy Creatures Heart Themed Thank You Card Set by Eloise

Hello everyone! Eloise here today and I’m here to share a fun set of cards featuring the new stamp sets – Comfy Creatures, Summer Picnic and Fresh and Fruity. I’m also using some little heart dies from the Stitched Heart Dies to create something fun and using the Sending my Love stamps too. I had so much fun creating these four cards for you all today and they’re just great little thank you notes to give to someone. Plus the punny sentiments make them all the more fun too!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Comfy Creatures Heart Themed Mini Thank You Card Set by Eloise.

So to begin my cards today, I created two 4” x 5 ½” side fold card bases out of some white cardstock. I then took a trimmer and cut them both long ways at 2 ¼” – so I created 4 top-fold mini cards. My thought for these mini cards was having something easy to pop on a box of chocolates or a small gift, just something simple to say thank you. So once my card bases were cut, I moved on to decorating them. I decided it would be fun to create a stencil out of some of the small simple heart dies from the Stitched Heart Dies, so I took all three small ones that didn’t have the stitching detail and adhered them randomly together with some washi tape, I then ran this through many times on top of some acetate to create my own re-useable stencil. By all means you could do this with cardstock of course, but acetate will last longer. Once it was all die cut out – just enough to cover the card base I adhered it over the top just using some washi tape along the sides and used some red distress ink to blend over the top. I was heavier handed towards the bottom and lighter at the top to create a fun ombre pattern without having to use several shades of red.

I completed this on all four cards and then worked on the images. I stamped out the bodies, tails and a couple of the heads from the Comfy Creatures stamp set and then stamped a couple of other heads from the Sending My Love set. I also stamped out some of the fruit images from the Summer Picnic stamp set. I decided to use my Copic markers this time around to colour in all my images. Once they were all coloured I used the coordinating dies to cut them all out – so super easy!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Comfy Creatures Heart Themed Mini Thank You Card Set by Eloise.

Now that I had everything together I decided to figure out what body I wanted with each head and fruit. Once I figured that out I adhered them together. I then stuck the critters on each card with some foam adhesive and then took the Fresh and Fruity stamp set and figured out which sentiments went with each fruit and then stamped them directly on the card base with some black ink and that finished up all of my four cards.

I hope you enjoyed a look at my cards today. I had a lot of fun making them and I hope this inspires you. Make sure you check by the blog this week as the other ladies are going to have some amazing projects as always!

Comfy Creatures Happy Graduation Card with Lexa

Hello everyone!  Lexa here again with another graduation card but this time I use a sweet koala from Comfy Creatures as the star of my card. The hat from Woo Hoo fits perfectly on her.  She looks sooo cute!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Comfy Creatures & Woo Hoo Koala Bear Graduation Card by Lexa Levana.

I made the background by cutting black cardstock into 1/2" stripes and arrange them on the white 4.25" x 5.5" card base. It might takes some time, but in the end it's all worth it. I stamped all the images on a piece of watercolor paper with my black Versafine ink and watercolored them with Distress Markers. I die-cut the tags on a pink and green paper to match the color of the koala, and I also die-cut the Star Border Die with a pink patterned paper for more fancy look.

Finally I arrange all the pieces together, stamped the sentiment in a piece of white cardstock and layered it with vellum underneath it. As you know that I love sequins, so I can't miss that for this one as well. :)

I hope you like it and thank you so much for reading.

Hey everybody!  Vanessa here with a happy banana card :)

The Comfy Creatures set is so cute with its adorable images and fun sentiments. Here is my card for today:

Sunny Studio Stamps: Comfy Creatures & Summer Picnic Bananas For You Monkey Card by Vanessa Menhorn

I started with a panel of watercolor paper that I had trimmed slightly smaller than a Kraft card base. I stamped the banana from the Comfy Creatures set and the banana from Summer Picnic repeatedly using archival ink, colored the panel with Peerless Watercolors and adhered it to the card. Now I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment onto a strip of turquoise cardstock and adhered it with foam tape. I stamped, colored and die-cut the head and the tail of the monkey and adhered them. Finally, I added yellow sequins to the card.

Comfy Creatures Monkeys & Rainbows Birthday Card with Lindsey

Hi, Lindsey here again! Today I'm sharing a cute birthday card featuring the adorable stamp set Comfy Creatures. This set is full of adorable critters that you can mix and match with different bodies and accessories, and there are plenty of sentiments to make different kinds of cards. You get a lot of bang for your buck with this set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Comfy Creatures Monkeys & Rainbows Birthday Card by Lindsey Sams.

I used the little monkeys with the beach bodies for this card. I started by getting my background ready. I cut some sunburst paper with a stitched rectangle for the top half of my card. For the bottom part of the card, I used the Wavy Border dies to create the water with two different colors of teal cardstock.

I also added a rainbow I made using different colors of cardstock and circle dies. I drew and cut out the clouds myself. Next, I stamped and colored the island and monkeys. I used the coordinating dies to cut the island, monkey tails, and flower on the girl monkey's head. I fussy cut the monkeys. The next step was to put together the scene. I used regular adhesive to attach everything but the monkeys and clouds. I popped them up a bit with foam tape. Lastly, I added some Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen to the rainbow, clouds, flower, and the clothes on the monkeys.

That's it for me today. Be sure to keep checking back to the blog for more inspiration, and thanks for reading. I hope you'll try your own card using this sweet, fun set!

Comfy Creatures: Celebrate Birthday Card with Anni

Hey stampers, Anni here!  Today I'd like to share a card I made using the set Comfy Creatures. For the stars in the background I used the Star Border Die and the sentiment is from the set Sunny Borders Die.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Comfy Creatures Monkey Birthday Card by Anni

I stamped and colored the little monkey. I chose colored pencils for the coloring. I really love to use colored pencils but it takes a little bit of time. Coloring with Copics is so much faster. But when I have the time I prefer to use colored pencils.

I paper-pieced the sweater of the monkey. Hey, a monkey in a polka dot sweater - it couldn't get cuter, could it?

For the panel I cut a tag from white paper and a bigger one from patterned paper with stars, added a hole and twine bow.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Comfy Creatures Monkey Birthday Card by Anni

For the sentiment I die-cut the word Celebrate once from yellow cardstock and a few times from black cardstock and stacked it up.  I finished the card with some die cut stars in the background to complete the theme.

Thanks for stopping by and have a sunny week!

Comfy Creatures Island Retirement Card with Eloise

Hi everyone, Eloise here and I’m going to be creating a fun retirement card that would be perfect for someone going to retire on a island somewhere, or I guess someone that’s dreaming about it would work too! I’m going to be using the new Comfy Creatures stamp set as my focal point, but I’m also going to be pulling in the kitty head from the Sending My Love set (a previously released set) and the island from the new Island Getaway stamp set too, since it works perfectly with the two little summery bodies in their bathers from the Comfy Creatures set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Comfy Creatures and Island Getaway Summer Card by Eloise Blue.

To begin my card I chose the two summery looking bodies, the monkey’s head, flower and the two tails from the Comfy Creatures stamp set. I also took the little island from the Island Getaway set and the cat head from Sending My Love to stamp and colour too. To colour these in, I’m going to be using watercolours. I’ve been completely obsessed with water colouring everything lately!  I stamped out my images in black ink and clear embossed over them and then coloured in my images with Zig Clean Colour markers. To cut out all my images I used the coordinating dies from all three sets.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Comfy Creatures and Island Getaway Summer Card by Eloise Blue.

For a little bit of a different background I decided to cut down a piece of watercolour cardstock and then cut it at a diagonal to create two different angled panels. I thought it would be fun and a little bit of a different look. I used some Distress Inks on both pieces using various yellows on the top panel and blues on the bottom panel. I sort of figured it looked like sand and water I guess. I the splattered some water on to give a splotchy look – I love doing this! I adhered the two angled pieces together with some washi tape on the back side to make sure they don’t shift and then I added some fun foam at the back to permanently adhere them together and then adhered it onto my card base. I then took my images and mounted them all on foam adhesive and placed them down into the bottom right corner of my card. To finish off my card I stamped out the ‘Happy Retirement’ sentiment from the Comfy Creatures set and white heat embossed it on a strip of black cardstock. I also adhered this using foam adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed my project today. I just love creating island scenes and I think those little bodies from the Comfy Creatures set is just perfect and I also love how it works so well with other stamp sets and you can mix and match from previously released sets – just makes it that much more versatile!

Make sure you check back tomorrow and the rest of the week to see what the other design team ladies have designed! I’m sure they’re going to be fantastic.

Stars & Stripes Reach For The Stars Card with Lexa

Hi there crafty friends.  It's Lexa here with a happy card to celebrate your Friday! :)

When I saw the Stars & Stripes stamp set for the first time I kept thinking what other possibilities I could use it for rather than for a 4th of July card. You may know that I'm not an American so today I'm going to show you that this set absolutely can make through the whole year.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Reach For The Stars Monkey Card by Lexa Levana (using Stars & Stripes and Comfy Creatures)

First, I cut a 4.25" x 5.5" white cardstock panel as a card base, then I embossed it with an arrow pattern. The texture will elevate your plain white background. All the images are stamped with Versafine Black Onyx and I use Distress Markers to watercolor them. I also added some smiley faces to the bigger stars.  Don't they look so cute? The monkey is from Comfy Creatures and I added googly eyes for extra fun.

You can pick some bright colors for this set to make other occasion cards, just like I did. I tied up a white string and tied a bow in the left corner, giving the scalloped banners a place to hang. For the sentiment, I stamp it on a piece fish tail banner which I decided to keep white so it wouldn't overpower the other images.

I hope you like today's card. Thanks for stopping by.

Stars & Stripes Let's Celebrate Pinwheel Card with Vanessa

Hey everybody!  Vanessa here with a fun window card using the Stars & Stripes set. I am not from the U.S., so I didn't create a patriotic card with it, but a cute birthday card instead.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Let's Celebrate Koala Bear Card by Vanessa Menhorn (using Stars & Stripes and Comfy Creatures)

I softly inked the bottom portion of a white card base. Then I trimmed a panel from white cardstock slightly smaller than the card and die-cut a square from it. Now I stamped the sentiment and adhered the panel to the card with foam tape. I stamped, colored and die-cut the stars and the pinwheel from Stars & Stripes and the head and hand from Comfy Creatures and adhered everything to the card.  Then I finished it off with matching sequins.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Let's Celebrate Koala Bear Card by Vanessa Menhorn (using Stars & Stripes and Comfy Creatures)

I love to combine the various sets, they go together so well! And this cute Koala Bear face just makes me smile :)

I hope you liked today's card! Thanks so much for stopping by!
