Build-A-Birdhouse Cards with Marie and Catherine

Hey there crafty friends, Marie here! Today I am sharing a very spring inspired birthday card featuring Sunny Studio Stamps' Build-A-Birdhouse Dies. These dies create the cutest little birdhouses that pair so perfectly with their Out On a Limb Dies

Sunny Studio Stamps: Build-A-Birdhouse Die Focused Card by Marie Marco (featuring Big Bold Greetings, Out On A Limb Dies)

To begin, I used an A7 size die to cut out my card base from 110 lb heavyweight cardstock paper. I used bristol smooth cardstock for my background panel which I ink blended using Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink. Then I adhered my inked panel to my cardbase using double sided tape adhesive.

Next, I die cut all the pieces from the Build-A-Birdhouse Dies, the Out On a Limb Dies, as well as the adorable tiny flowers from the Wonderful Windows Dies. I cut out my birdhouses from watercolor paper, and used watercolor pencils from Faber-Castell to color each one in a shabby chic style. To give the houses dimension I die-cut the roof about 5 times and stacked them up. For my flowers I cut them from pink shades of cardstock paper. All the tree limbs and leaves were cut from bristol smooth cardstock and inked using Vintage Photo and Mowed Lawn Distress inks. After inking, I went over some of the die cuts with color pencil for some extra shading.

I positioned all my tree limbs to create a frame. From there, I built up my scene by adding all the leaves and flowers using Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue. The last thing I added were the birdhouses. I used some foam tape on the back of each house to create a floating dimensional look and I added some gold twine to the back of the houses and glued it to the top of the tree branch. I then created some super tiny bows and attached them to the top for the cutest hanging birdhouses!

Moving on to the inside of my card, I stamped out a big Happy Birthday Sentiment using the Big Bold Greetings Stamp and cut it out using the Big Bold Greetings Dies. I used some extra leaves and flowers to create some cute floral accents and called this card done!

Thanks so much for joining me on this week's card inspiration! Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Hello Crafty Friends! Catherine here, and today I am so excited to share another card created with Build-A-Birdhouse Dies. I thought it would be fun this time to use a circle slider die so that the birds can fly around their homes.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Build-A-Birdhouse Die Focused Card by Catherine Cohen (featuring Little Birdie, Fluffy Cloud Border Dies, Out On A Limb Dies)

There are many fabulous circle slider dies out in the market. The one that I used is a generic one listed in my blog link below. There are essentially three pieces that is required for the circle: circle slider track (A), circle used as a slide backer (B), slider disc (C).

Sunny Studio Stamps: Build-A-Birdhouse Die Focused Card by Catherine Cohen (featuring Little Birdie, Fluffy Cloud Border Dies, Out On A Limb Dies)

To start, I ink blended two (one will be the front panel and the other will be the back) A2 white card stock with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide using a cloud stencil that I created with Fluffy Clouds Border Dies. I splattered both with blue watercolor paint. Once dried, I die cut the front panel with the circle slider track (A). I die cut the slide backer out of white cardstock (B). I attached the slider disc (C) onto the slide backer (B) using a glue gun.  I put the slider disc inside front panel with the circle track. (A).  I attached the front panel onto the back panel with foam tape.

Next, I die cut the birdhouses from Build-A-Birdhouse Dies and branches from Out On A Limb Dies. I ink blended the birdhouses with Scattered Straw, Wilted Violet, and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxides. I ink blended the branches with Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress Oxides and the coordinating leaves with Shabby Shutters and Bundled Sage Distress Oxides. I thought it would be pretty to add some flowers so I used the flower die from Window Quad Square Dies and ink blended the flowers with the same inks.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Build-A-Birdhouse Die Focused Card by Catherine Cohen (featuring Little Birdie, Fluffy Cloud Border Dies, Out On A Limb Dies)

I stamped and die cut the cute birds from Little Birdie Stamps and colored the birds with Copic Markers listed in my blog link below. I die cut an extra die cut for each of the two birds that I wanted to attach onto the slider discs for extra support. I glued the birds onto the slider discs with a hot glue gun. I attached the birdhouses onto the branches with some yellow bakers twine. I finished off the card with a reverse scalloped frame and a sentiment from A Bird's Life Stamps.

Thank you so much for joining me today. Please feel free to visit me at Crafti-Cat. Have a wonderful day!

Guest Designer Spotlight: Garden Critters Cards with Leanne West

Hello everyone, Leanne West here! I’m so happy to be here on the blog again. I have made two cards to share and they both feature the adorable bugs from the Garden Critters stamp set. I have such an affinity for bug images. Especially bees and ladybugs! They always add a touch of whimsy to any scene.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Garden Critters Friendship Cards by Leanne West

The first card I’ve made is a relatively clean and simple one. I’ve created a stenciled cloud background and placed a greeting right in the center. I then arranged the bugs flying around it. I hand drew some swirly trails for the dragonflies. After trimming this panel down a bit, I added a scalloped white border and the colorful gingham pattern paper behind it. The finished card is A2 size.

Here are the copics I used to color the stamped images: bees- Y11,Y13,Y15, N4,N6, B00; butterfly- RV52, RV63, RV55, YR61,YR65, W3, W4; Dragonfly- B00, BV01,BV02, YG11, YG05; Ladybug- RV63, RV55, N4,N6, N8

My second card is a mini slimline design. I’ve created a garden scene with the bird houses, grassy hills, some flowers, bees and a ladybug. The cloud background and polka dot grass hills are patterned paper from the Spring Fever paper pad.

I’ve done a little die-cutting magic to create the double-decker birdhouse. You’ll notice that the Build-a-Birdhouse dies come with two different styles of house. I wanted the third in my scene to be a little different. When die-cutting this birdhouse, I positioned the top cutting plate off of the bottom edge of the die before I ran it through my die cutting machine. Then on the next pass through to complete the cut, I moved the die down slightly to elongate the shape. I positioned the top cutting plate off of the roof area of the die this time. This may sound complicated, but it’s really easy to do and allows you customize die cuts.

Ribbon & Lace Die Focused Cards with Catherine and Marie

Hello Crafty Friends! Catherine here and today, I am sharing a spring card created with the pretty Ribbon & Lace Border Dies and Build-A-Birdhouse Dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Ribbon & Lace Die Focused Everyday Card by Catherine Cohen (featuring Out On A Limb Dies, Frilly Frame Dies, Build-A-Birdhouse)

To start, I trimmed 9 strips of paper 0.5”H x 4.5” W out of white cardstock. I used one of the scalloped edge border dies in the Ribbon & Lace Border Dies and die cut the 9 strips of paper. I evenly spaced the scalloped edge borders onto a piece of white cardstock 4.5”W x 5 ¾” H and adhered the borders.

I die cut the birds and bird houses from Build-A-Birdhouse and ink blended with Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass, Tea Dye, Scattered Straw, and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxides.

I die cut some branches and leaves with Out On A Limb Dies and ink blended with Scattered Straw, Tea Dye, and Gathered Twigs (branches), and Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn (leaves).

Sunny Studio Stamps: Ribbon & Lace Die Focused Everyday Card by Catherine Cohen (featuring Out On A Limb Dies, Frilly Frame Dies, Build-A-Birdhouse)

I adhered all the images onto the card and hung the birdhouses onto the branches with black twine.  I added a reversed scallop frame onto the card. I had a piece of white cardstock which was left over from a die cut using Frilly Frames Hexagon and thought it would make a pretty frame.

I finished off the card by adding “hello” from Slimline Scalloped Frame Dies, ink blended with Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxides.

Thanks so much for joining me today! For inspiration, please feel free to visit me at Crafti-Cat. Have a wonderful day!

Hey Crafty Friends! It's Marie and today I'm sharing a vintage pastel "Hello" themed card that can easily be a new baby card which features the gorgeous slimline Ribbon & Lace Border Dies from Sunny Studio Stamps' latest Spring 2023 release. This card also features their Baby Elephants Stamps and being a huge fan of elephants, this stamp set is absolutely adorable and so much fun!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Ribbon & Lace Die Focused Baby Card by Marie Marco (featuring Baby Elephant, Loopy Letter Dies)

To begin my card making process, I first die cut an A2 sized card base from 110 Lb Neenah Solar White Cardstock. Then, I used the Ribbon & Lace Border Dies to create lovely doily like texture using some scrap pieces of pattern paper. I cut another A2 sized panel of pattern paper and die cut the base using one of the border dies. I then adhered that to the white card base, and layered on the rest of the pattern paper. I die cut some white cardstock using one of the ribbon dies from the set and placed that on top of my paper layers.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Ribbon & Lace Die Focused Baby Card by Marie Marco (featuring Baby Elephant, Loopy Letter Dies)

Next, I stamped out all my images onto watercolor paper using Antique Linen Distress Ink and colored them all using Faber- Castell Watercolor pencils. I then cut out the images using the corresponding Baby Elephant Dies. For my "Hi" sentiment, I used the Loopy Letters Dies because it has a very dainty and delicate cursive style that matched the vintage vibe of my card perfectly! For the letters, I layered basic white cardstock on top of some gold cardstock. And finally to finish off my card, I used some gold star die cuts to embellish the background.

That does it for my super sweet and easy card inspiration of the week! Thank you so much for joining me today and until next week, Happy Crafting!!!

Build-a-Birdhouse Cards with Cathy and Bobbi

Hey friends! Cathy here sharing a tweat card today featuring the cute Build-A-Birdhouse Dies! I just love the different detailed pieces that you can use to make each birdhouse unique.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Build-A-Birdhouse Spring Themed Friendship Card by Cathy Chapdelaine (featuring Little Birdie, Picket Fence Border Dies, Fluffy Cloud Border Dies)

To begin this mini slimline card, I cut a piece of white cardstock 3” x 6” and lightly inked the very top with Spun Sugar Distress ink. I die-cut 3 panels with the Fluffy Clouds Border Dies and overlapped them on the 3” x 6” panel after inking each lightly with Tumbled Glass Distress ink. The top panel measures 1 1/2" x 3” and I adhered it approximately 1/2” down from the top edge. The middle cloud panel measures 1 1/2" x 3” and the bottom panel measures 3” x 4”. I stamped the “tweatheart” sentiment from the Little Birdie Stamps on the middle cloud panel in Memento London Fog ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder before adhering it to the 3” x 6” panel.

Next, I cut a white card base 6 1/4” x 6 1/2" (scored on the 6 1/2" side at 3 1/4" and folded in half) and adhered the 3” x 6” panel to the card front. I die-cut a fence from white cardstock using the Picket Fence Border Die, added some gray Copic details and adhered it 1” from the bottom edge of the 3” x 6” panel. I inked 2 pieces of white cardstock (1 1/4" x 3” and 3/4" x 3”) with Shabby Shutters Distress ink and die-cut the top edge of each with the grass border die from the Picket Fence Die. I adhered the 1 1/4” x 3” piece to the bottom edge of the 3” x 6” panel slightly overlapping the fence. Before I adhered the 3/4” x 3” grass piece, I needed to adhere a birdhouse and tulips. I die-cut the Build-a-Birdhouse elements from gray, yellow, pink and white cardstock and Copic colored the white house portions. I adhered a birdhouse to the left side of the card front. For the tulips, I stamped and Copic colored the tulip planter from the Garden Critters Stamps and die-cut it using the coordinating dies. I adhered it over the post of the birdhouse and then adhered the bottom grass piece so that only the tulips were peeking out. I then adhered the second birdhouse.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Build-A-Birdhouse Spring Themed Friendship Card by Cathy Chapdelaine (featuring Little Birdie, Picket Fence Border Dies, Fluffy Cloud Border Dies)

To finish, I stamped 2 adorable birds from the Little Birdie Stamps on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb solar white cardstock, colored them with Copics and die-cut them using the coordinating dies. I added 3 little die-cut hearts from the Build-A-Birdhouse Dies. Finally, I die-cut the “hello” sentiment from the Slimline Scalloped Frame Dies from a light and dark yellow cardstock and overlapped them slightly to help it stand out a bit more.

I hope you enjoyed and are looking forward to Spring as much as I am! Thanks for stopping by today! For more inspiration, please visit my blog www.inkredibleadventures.com and you can also find me on Instagram as @cathy.chapdelaine.

Hi friends, Bobbi here. With spring just a few months away, It’s time to start thinking about singing birds and cute birdhouses. Sunny Studio Stamps has a cute new birdhouse die set, called Build-a-Birdhouse, that has a number of fun design elements to make one-of-a-kind houses for our feathered friends. There’s two darling birds in the set, too.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Build-A-Birdhouse Spring Themed Birthday Card by Bobbi Lemanski (featuring Big Bold Greetings, Fluffy Cloud Dies)

To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I splattered watercolor paints in vibrant colors on a white card base. I added a cloudy sky with a stitched cloud design. Sunny Studios offers a cute stitched cloud die set called Fluffy Clouds to make a fun stitched sky background. I applied Distress Oxide Ink in Tumbled Glass and Salvaged Patina for a varied sky color. I attached the blended background, bordered with 2- 1/8″ strips made from green pattern paper from the Spring Fever paper pad on the top and bottom, and attached it to the splattered front panel.

I made three birdhouses, mixing and matching the die cut pieces. Each one was colored using shades of pink, oranges and aquas. Additional details were added like scalloped roofs, hearts, flowers and more. Each birdhouse was adhered to a post and attached to the card. I added a number of blue birds to the houses, too.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Build-A-Birdhouse Spring Themed Birthday Card by Bobbi Lemanski (featuring Big Bold Greetings, Fluffy Cloud Dies)

Using the Big Bold Greetings stamp set and coordinating dies, I stamped the “Happy Birthday” in two tones of blue and cut it out. I attached it with foam tabs to make it stand out. I added additional flowers around the greeting and a few sparkly sequins, too.

Spring Fever Focused Cards with Lien and Isha

Hi crafty friends! It's Lien here back with a colorful clean and simple card. With lots of friends living abroad, I use a ton of "miss you" and "thinking of you" cards. And any sort of card you need a lot from, you probably want a quick way to make them. Even better, this card design works for any occasion, just swap out the sentiment and you're good to go!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Passionate Penguins Card by Lien Leysen

I simply stamped the fun image from the Passionate Penguins stamp set in alcohol marker friendly ink and colored it in with my Ohuhu Markers. I do use a trick when stamping for marker colorings where I leave the stamp sitting in my Misti and after I'm done coloring I stamp it once again in Versafine Onyx Black ink. This is a pigment ink and stays wet for a while so I can add clear embossing powder to it.

I love a glossy black embossed outline but if you go over that line too often with alcohol markers, you will rub it away and it might even ruin the nib of your markers. This simple trick takes 2 minutes extra and I love the finished look. I die cut the image with the coordinating dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Passionate Penguins Card by Lien Leysen

To put this card together, I just used a piece of patterned paper from the gorgeous Spring Fever paper pack and adhered that to the top of my card. I added a sentiment white embossed on black from the Breakfast Puns stamp set and put it behind the image which I propped up on some foam tape. Simple, quick, easy to mass produce, and you can make this work for any occasion!

----------------------------------------

Hello everyone! Isha here today with a fun and cheerful card. I played with patterns from the new Spring Fever paper collection. I decided to incorporate some of the new and old stamps and dies as they all blend well together.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Looking Sharp Card by Isha Gupta (featuring Big Bold Greetings, Mini Mat & Tag Dies, Build-A-Birdhouse Dies)

To start, I cut the floral pattern, matted it with a pink cardstock and adhered to a white card base. Then cut the dotted yellow paper stripe and adhere. Next, I die-cut the tag using the cloud background paper from the Mini Mat and Tag 2 dies. Die-cut the grass from the grass pattern paper using the Picket Fence dies. Die-cut the birds from the Build-A-Birdhouse dies, color using copic markers.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Looking Sharp Card by Isha Gupta (featuring Big Bold Greetings, Mini Mat & Tag Dies, Build-A-Birdhouse Dies)

Stamp the cactus from the Looking Sharp stamp set, color and die-cut using the coordinating dies. Stamp the word "THANKS" from the Big Bold Greetings stamp and die-cut using the coordinating diesAssemble everything together. To finish add the twine and some enamel dots.

Thank you for dropping by and have a nice day!

Build-a-Birdhouse Die Focused Cards with Marine and Waleska

Hello crafty friends, Marine here with you today, I'm super happy to be back on the blog with a cute spring card showcasing the brand new and ever so cute Build-a-Birdhouse die set. It's not that usual for me to only use die cuts on my projects, I'm more of a busy-scene-with-critters kind of crafter, but I really enjoyed creating and assembling this lovely card!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Build-A-Birdhouse Missing You Card by Marine Simon (featuring Out On A Limb Dies)

I wanted the birdhouses to be super colorful, so I started off by cutting all the different elements and birds out of several plain colored cardstock. The Build-a-Birdhouse die set comes with a pole die to place the houses on, but I wanted them to be hanging from a tree, so I used the Out On a Limb die set to cut two branches out of some brown cardstock, and some leaves out of a green dotted pattern paper from the new Spring Fever paper pack.

Next I cut a 5,5" x 4,25" pink floral panel using another paper from the Spring Fever paper pack, as well as a slightly smaller vellum panel. I temporarily taped the vellum panel to the pink one using washi tape, I assembled the birdhouses, and glued them on the vellum along with the branches, leaves and birds using foam squares.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Build-A-Birdhouse Missing You Card by Marine Simon (featuring Out On A Limb Dies)

For my greeting, I first white heat embossed the words "Wishing you the" from Country Carnival, and I cut some gold glitter letters to form the word "Best" and finally read "Wishing you the best". Next I removed the washi tape that was keeping the pink panel and vellum panel together, I flipped the vellum panel over and applied liquid glue at the back of each die cut element, and then I attached that vellum panel to the pink floral one. And finally I added stitched lines above each birdhouse using a white gel pen to connect them to the branches.

And that's it! Feels like spring already, right? Thank you so much for stopping by, and see you next week!

------------------------------------------

Hey friends, Waleska here! I am excited to share today's card featuring the new Build-a-Birdhouse dies. They are perfect to create all kinds of scenes they can be spring, summer or even winter.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Build-A-Birdhouse Birthday Card by Waleska Galindo (featuring Out On A Limb Dies)

I started my card die cutting and coloring the bird houses, I used oxide inks in colors Shaded Lilac, Kitsch Flamingo and Peacock Feathers, some details I leave them white and others I used copic markers to color them. I then started working on the background. I used a cloud stencil and the same colors I used for the bird houses. I mix the oxide inks with a little bit of water and splash the sky and the houses. I really wanted to incorporate the birds to this scene so I die cut two branches from the Out on a Limb dies with kraft cardstock as well as some leaves that I color with copic markers.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Build-A-Birdhouse Birthday Card by Waleska Galindo (featuring Out On A Limb Dies)

I started to assemble my card using all the elements, I also cut and color two birds and adhered them on the tree branches. I added a frame from the Fancy Frames Rectangle dies and cut a kraft base for my card and a white card as a base. The fun sentiment is from the A Bird's Life Stamp set. This is one of my favorite dies from the latest release. What dies were your favorite?

Thank you for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your day!
