Wonderful Windows Cards with Bobbi and Cathy

Hi friends! Bobbi here with the new Wonderful Windows dies by Sunny Studio Stamps. There is nothing I want more right now than a view out my window filled with flowers and singing birds! Unfortunately, all I see in Wisconsin today is barren trees and a snow-covered landscape. Spring is coming soon and this card makes me excited for the upcoming season. I’m using the Wonderful Windows Dies along with the Little Birdie stamps and dies for this card.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Wonderful Windows Die Focused Card by Bobbi Lemanski (featuring Little Birdie)

To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I cut my windows from white cardstock (Neenah 80lb Solar White) and added a little aging to the largest frame using Copics in a warm gray, W3, W1, W0.  I also cut the window frame from black cardstock and the curtains from white. This combination reminds me of the windows you’d see on older townhouses in New York City.

Next, I adhered a yellow cardstock behind the black frames and shadowed the frames, rails, stiles, and muntins using a darker yellow with Copics Y28 and Y26. The curtain folds were shadowed with W4, W3, W1 to make the pleated layers stand out a bit more. I added 1/8″ strips of metallic gold cardstock to the tops of both frames. Once assembled, I added some white lines to the glass panes to resemble glare on the glass using my white Gelly Roll pen.

To make the 5″ X 7″ card background, I used a brick stencil and Distress Oxide Ink in Lost Shadow to create the light bricks on my card base’s front panel. I used a soft touch of Black Soot around the corners’ edges of the card for a scene shadow. Next, I added black window boxes and filled them with flowers and leaves from the die set. I added so many that you can’t see the black boxes! I kept the flowers simple in white and red with the green leaves. I wanted the boxes to flow over with flowers and foliage so I used my Copic marker in YG67 to create the trailing greenery and yellow pearl pen to add tiny yellow blossoms.

Lastly, I added two blue birds from the Little Birdie set. I colored them in BG72, BG11, B02, R11, and E50. I nestled one in the flower box and one in front of the window. I think the birds add just the right touch to finish this window scene!

Hey friends! Cathy here today and I’m excited to share a Parisian Café inspired card featuring the Wonderful Windows Dies. There are so many ways to use these windows on your projects and I couldn’t wait to share this one!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Wonderful Windows Die Focused Card by Cathy Chapdelaine (featuring Sweet Treats House Add-On Dies, Paris Afternoon)

I started this A2 size card with the brick of the store front. I cut a piece of ivory cardstock 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I inked a second piece of the ivory cardstock with Tattered Rose Distress ink and I die-cut this piece numerous times using a planter box die from the Sweet Treat House Add-on Dies. I adhered these pieces to the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" cardstock piece starting at the bottom and working my way up. I then adhered the panel to an A2 card front.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Wonderful Windows Die Focused Card by Cathy Chapdelaine (featuring Sweet Treats House Add-On Dies, Paris Afternoon)

Next, I die-cut the large window from the Wonderful Windows Dies from black cardstock and adhered a 1 3/4" x 3” piece of acetate to the back of the window. I then cut a piece of patterned paper from the Subtle Grey Tones Paper 1 1/2" x 2 3/4” for the inside of the café.

I stamped a chair, table, coffee mugs and a baguette from the Paris Afternoon Stamps and a table from the Cozy Christmas Stamps (I used this for the shelf) on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb solar white cardstock, colored them with Copics and fussy cut them out. I then adhered them to the patterned paper making sure they would show through the windowpane. I applied adhesive to the back of the window frame and adhered it over the paper piece.

Next, I adhered the window to the card front, centered and 1/2" from the bottom of the card. I inked a piece of white cardstock with Speckled Egg Distress ink and die-cut the shutters. I die-cut the outer portion of the shutters twice and layered them for extra dimension. I inked a piece of white cardstock with Tea Dye Distress ink for the planter box and Peeled Paint Distress ink for the leaves.

For the awning, I cut a piece of white cardstock 2 1/2" x 4” and die-cut black and white cardstock with the ribbon die from the Ribbon & Lace Border Dies. Starting on one edge of the cardstock, I adhered the ribbon strips alternating in color.

I then placed the bag topper die from the Sweet Treat House Add-on Dies cutting face down on the ribbon piece (evenly positioned on the side black ribbon strips), taped it in place and die-cut the piece. I folded along the score line at the top, applied adhesive to just the top edge and adhered it 1/2" from the top of the card. Adhering just the top edge allows the awning to stick up a bit from the card front but will still push down flat to fit in an envelope.

To finish, I stamped the café from the City Streets Stamps, colored the café sign and fussy cut it out. I die-cut 2 hinges from the Wonderful Windows Dies from black cardstock to hang the sign at the top of the window. I inked a piece of white cardstock with Saltwater Taffy Distress ink and die-cut it using the ribbon die from the Ribbon & Lace Border Dies. I then heat embossed a sentiment on it from the City Streets Stamps and adhered it across the awning.

I hope you enjoyed my café card and thanks for stopping by today! For more inspiration, please visit my blog www.inkredibleadventures.com and you can also find me on Instagram as @cathy.chapdelaine.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Garden Critters Cards with Leanne West

Hello everyone, Leanne West here! I’m so happy to be here on the blog again. I have made two cards to share and they both feature the adorable bugs from the Garden Critters stamp set. I have such an affinity for bug images. Especially bees and ladybugs! They always add a touch of whimsy to any scene.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Garden Critters Friendship Cards by Leanne West

The first card I’ve made is a relatively clean and simple one. I’ve created a stenciled cloud background and placed a greeting right in the center. I then arranged the bugs flying around it. I hand drew some swirly trails for the dragonflies. After trimming this panel down a bit, I added a scalloped white border and the colorful gingham pattern paper behind it. The finished card is A2 size.

Here are the copics I used to color the stamped images: bees- Y11,Y13,Y15, N4,N6, B00; butterfly- RV52, RV63, RV55, YR61,YR65, W3, W4; Dragonfly- B00, BV01,BV02, YG11, YG05; Ladybug- RV63, RV55, N4,N6, N8

My second card is a mini slimline design. I’ve created a garden scene with the bird houses, grassy hills, some flowers, bees and a ladybug. The cloud background and polka dot grass hills are patterned paper from the Spring Fever paper pad.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Garden Critters & Build-A-Birdhouse Friendship Cards by Leanne West

I’ve done a little die-cutting magic to create the double-decker birdhouse. You’ll notice that the Build-a-Birdhouse dies come with two different styles of house. I wanted the third in my scene to be a little different. When die-cutting this birdhouse, I positioned the top cutting plate off of the bottom edge of the die before I ran it through my die cutting machine. Then on the next pass through to complete the cut, I moved the die down slightly to elongate the shape. I positioned the top cutting plate off of the roof area of the die this time. This may sound complicated, but it’s really easy to do and allows you customize die cuts.

Panda Party Cards with Tina and Vanessa

Hello crafty friends, Tina here with a festive card featuring the adorable Panda Party stamp and die set. With all their fun accessories, these cuties are ready to have a great time!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Panda Party Happy Anniversary Card by Tina (featuring Scalloped Circle Mat Dies, Frilly Frame Dies, Ribbon & Lace Border Dies)

First, I stamped and die cut all my images from this set and colored them with my Copic markers, adding extra details with a white gel pen. I followed the color scheme from a Spring Fever plaid paper.  Next, I cut a circle frame from this sheet using the largest die of the Scalloped Circle Mats 3 and a smaller circle from an Infinity set.

My card panel was cut from a piece of Neenah Solar White paper using the Frilly Frame Eyelet Lace die. Next, I dry embossed this panel with a bamboo folder from my stash. The Panda Party stamp set has lots of words you can mix and match to create a custom sentiment. I stamped the ‘Happy annibearsary’ onto a small white banner with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Panda Party Happy Anniversary Card by Tina (featuring Scalloped Circle Mat Dies, Frilly Frame Dies, Ribbon & Lace Border Dies)

To assemble the card, I adhered the white embossed panel to a pink card base. Next, I mounted the circle frame with foam tape for dimension. The little pink rectangle for my bears to stand on was cut with one of the Ribbon And Lace Border dies.

I continued building the scene with the two banners and the sweet bears, making sure they all were given a party hat to celebrate! Lastly, I adhered the sentiment banner under the circle frame and added a few Pastel Mix Jewels for that extra bling! After considering white pompoms for the hats, I discovered that the smallest of the Pure White Jewels were a perfect match.

I hope you will create a fun party card with this sweet set too! Thank you for visiting the blog and happy crafting!

Hello to you! Vanessa here with a fun explosion card using the cute Panda Party set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Panda Party Birthday Card by Vanessa Menhorn (featuring Big Bold Greetings)

I created the box with the WRMK Explosion Card Punch Board. Onto the yellow background, I applied Distress Oxide inks with an ink blending tool and a circle stencil. Then I added white strips of cardstock to the bottom of the box. Now I stamped the images, colored everything with Copics, die-cut the pieces with the matching dies and adhered them to the box.

Onto the tray, I stamped the sentiment from Big Bold Greetings and added the same circles. Finally, I used a white gel pen to highlight the images, sentiment and the circles.

Tranquil Tulips Cards with Waleska and Marine

Hello there friends, Waleska here! My card today features the beautiful Tranquil Tulips Stamps from the most recent release mixed with the Moroccan Circles Embossing folder and the Mini Mat and Tag Dies #3.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tranquil Tulips Thank You Card by Waleska Galindo (featuring Mini Mat & Tag Dies, Moroccan Embossing Folder)

For this card I wanted the Tulips to be the focal point in my card, to do that I decided to leave the tulips very colorful and the background white so they can really stand out.  I started by stamping the different layers of the tulips with the following inks: Hero Arts Ombre Pink Ink, Lawn Fawn Plastic Flamingo Ink and Lawn Fawn Lobster Ink, for the leaves I used Lawn Fawn Jalapeno Ink and Lawn Fawn Noble Fir Ink. I hand cut the tulips and arrange them in the way I wanted.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tranquil Tulips Thank You Card by Waleska Galindo (featuring Mini Mat & Tag Dies, Moroccan Embossing Folder)

I then embossed a white panel with the Moroccan Circles Embossing folder and cut 4 of the scalloped rectangle from the Mini Mat and Tag Dies #3, I wanted to have dimension to this piece so I adhere them together.  Finally I assemble my card by using the pattern paper as a base layer from the Dots and Stripes Jewel Tones, then the embossed panel and finally the small scalloped rectangle, my sentiment is from the Big Bold Greetings.

Thank you so much for stopping by today I hope you will be inspired to create today by my post!

------------------------------------------

Hello crafty friends! Marine here, so happy to be back on the blog today with a bright & beautiful bouquet showcasing Tranquil Tulips! It's no secret that I love to create little scenes with multiple images and details, but I also really love to play with the amazing layering stamp sets we have in the Sunny Studio catalogue.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tranquil Tulips Thank You Card by Marine Simon (featuring Thank You Word Dies, Words of Gratitude)

I started off with the background. I knew that the flowers, watering can & shaker accessories would be very bright, and I didn't want all those elements to get lost on a too colorful background, so I picked a light pattern paper from the Subtle Grey Tones paper pack, and cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches panel. Next I took a sheet of plastic from my stash a little bit bigger than my panel, added double sided tape along the four edges, placed my grey panel in the middle of it, and while keeping the panel in place with my left hand, I cut the four plastic corners off, and this way created four plastic tabs on each side of the grey panel. I folded and attached three of those tabs at the back of the grey panel, added a mix of sequins, jewels & confetti inside the plastic pocket, and then folded and attached the fourth tab to totally close the pocket. I attached my infinity shaker panel on a white card base using double sided tape, and then moved on to the images.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tranquil Tulips Thank You Card by Marine Simon (featuring Thank You Word Dies, Words of Gratitude)

I stamped the tulips and leaves from Tranquil Tulips, as well as the watering can from Watering Can on Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock using distress oxide inks. For the tulips, I used spun sugar + kitsch flamingo + picked raspberry. For the leaves, I used shabby shutters + mowed lawn. And for the watering can, I used salvaged patina + hickory smoke. Once all the images were stamped, I used the coordinating dies to cut them all, and then I attached everything on the infinity shaker panel using foam squares.

And finally I created my greeting in two parts. I started by cutting the word "Thanks" out of gold mirror cardstock using a die from the Thank You Words die set. Next I white heat embossed the phrase "for always being there" from Words Of Gratitude on a dark grey slim banner, and then I attached both elements on the bottom left corner of my card using liquid glue and foam squares.

And that's it! I hope that you like this new shaker card! Feels like Spring, right? Thanks for stopping by, and see you next week with more flowers!

Hayley Alphabet Die Focused Cards with Catherine and Marie

Hello Crafty Friends! Catherine here, today I am sharing a rainbow card featuring Hayley Uppercase Alphabet Dies and Hayley Lowercase Alphabet Dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Hayley Alphabet Die Focused Rainbow Card by Catherine Cohen (featuring Panda Party, Stitched Circle Dies)

To start, I ink blended the cloudy background with a stencil made using Fluffy Cloudy Border Dies with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide on to A2 size cardstock. I splattered some blue watercolor onto the card for added interest.

Next, I die cut four more cloudy borders for the top and bottom of the card. Two out of white cardstock and two out of pearlescent vellum. I lightly inked the edges of the two white cloudy borders with the same ink. I layered the cloudy borders onto the top and bottom of the card with foam tape.

To make the rainbow, I used the circle dies from Stitched Circle Large Dies and Stitched Circle Small Dies. I nested the smaller circles inside the larger circles and ran it through my die cut machine and cut the circles into an arch. I tucked the rainbow into the cloudy border and adhered it onto the background with glue. I used the bright and cheery paper from Spring Sunburst Paper. I added a sun using Sunny Sentiments Dies and a stitched circle from Stitched Circle Large Dies using paper from Classic Gingham 6x6 Paper.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Hayley Alphabet Die Focused Rainbow Card by Catherine Cohen (featuring Panda Party, Stitched Circle Dies)

For the sentiment “Bright,” I die cut the letters twice  with Hayley Uppercase Alphabet Dies and Hayley Lowercase Alphabet Dies out of white card stock and once out of scrap colored cardstock. I adhered the white letters together and then the colored letters on top and added highlights with a white gel pen.

I added a few more clouds from Balloon Rides Dies and I couldn’t resist but to add a panda from Panda Party StampsI finished off the card with a colorful sentiment Happy Thoughts Stamps using the following Altenew Inks: Fresh Lemon, Pinkalicious, Deep Iris, and Firefly.

Thank you so much for stopping buy! Have a wonderful day!

Hello Crafty Friends, Marie here! Today I am back sharing a very simple Easter card featuring Sunny Studio Stamps' Hayley Lowercase Alphabet Dies and Hayley Uppercase Alphabet Dies as well as some super cute images from their Chubby Bunny Stamps and Bunnyville Stamps. This adorable chubby bunny has been blessed with tons of Easter treats and it doesn't look like he's about to share anytime soon!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Hayley Alphabet Die Focused Bunnyville Easter Card by Marie Marco (featuring Chubby Bunny)

To create this simple and sweet Easter card, I first start off by die cutting my A2 sized card base from 110 lb. heavyweight cardstock. I die cut another A2 sized panel of bright yellow pattern paper from the new Spring Fever Paper. I then attached my pattern paper to my card base using a double sided tape adhesive. To create my background, I die cut a smaller sized panel from bristol smooth cardstock because inks glides smoothly with this type of paper. I used distress ink in the color Salvaged Patina to ink blend my sky and Twisted Citron for my grass. I centered my background panel and attached it to my card front with Bearly Art Precision craft glue.

For my Easter Blessings sentiment, I combined the Hayley Uppercase Alphabet Dies with the Hayley Lowercase Alphabet Dies. I cut out all my alphas from  Neenah Solar White cardstock. I just love the typography of these dies! It's whimsical and elegant at the same time, and I absolutely love how you can create your own sentiments.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Hayley Alphabet Die Focused Bunnyville Easter Card by Marie Marco (featuring Chubby Bunny)

For my images, I used both the Chubby Bunny Stamps and the Bunnyville Stamps. I stamped out all the images onto watercolor paper using Distress Ink in Antique Linen. I colored all my images using watercolor pencils. I cut all my images using the Chubby Bunny Dies and the Bunnyville Dies

Finally, I adhered my sentiment and all my images using a combination of craft glue, tape adhesive, and foam tape. There you have it friends, a very simple Easter card that could be mass produced! Thanks so much for joining me for this week's card inspiration! Until next time, have fun crafting and creating!
