Designer's Choice Cards with Catherine and Bobbi

Hello Friends! Catherine here, sharing a card featuring cute sloths “hanging out” in a kiddie pool for designer’s choice.

To start, I ink blended white card stock sized 4.4” x 5.5 “with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I set the background aside and stamped the sloths  and hibiscus flowers from Silly Sloths Stamps and die cut with the coordinating dies, Silly Sloths Dies.  I stamped the pool from Kiddie Pool Stamps and die cut the pool with Kiddie Pool Dies.

Next, I stamped the jungle border from Tropical Scenes, hat from Sealiously Sweet, coconut drinks from Tiki Time, and scuba goggles from Beach Buddies. I coloured everything with Copic Markers.

I adhered the jungle border onto the background and then adhered the sloths, pool, and hibiscus flowers with foam tape for added dimension.

I added a frame using the scalloped border in Frilly Frames Hexagon Die. I trimmed a piece of paper from Subtle Grey Tones 6x6 Paper to 4.4” x 5.5”. I placed the scalloped border in the center of the paper and then I die cut the frame out leaving the border with an inverted scalloped edge. I added foam tape on along the back of the frame and adhered it onto the background.

I finished off the card with a white heat embossed sentiment from Silly Sloth Stamps.

Hello friends. It’s Bobbi Lemanski sharing a card using a really cute stamp set from Sunny Studio Stamps called, Cruisin’ Cuisine stamp set and coordinating dies. My card features a pop-up truck on the card front for a little fun. It puts the truck in an upright position, on a concrete patio, ready to sell some sweet cream treats!

To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I used Neenah 80lb cardstock for the card base, front panel, truck, cone and back support. I stamped the truck and cone using black ink and die cut the designs. I cut another set of the two cuts out of white cardstock to finish the back side with clean white cardstock. (The back side shows when the truck is upright.) This extra backing also helps to make the truck more sturdy, too. The ice cream cone was glued to the top of the truck.

I colored the images using the following Copic Marker colors:

Truck: YR69, FR01, RV55, RV02, E57, E55, E53, 100, C08, C05, C01, BV000, B00, W4
Ice Cream Cone: E57, E55, E53, YR31, YR30, RV55, YR68, E47, W4

To make the concrete patio, I completed steps 1 and 2 (above) then cut an oval shape from the hand-drawn block patio to place under the truck. This design is clean and simple and grounds the truck on the card. I kept it simple, in black and white, only. I like the contrast with the very colorful truck and cone.

I cut the top off the oval and attached it to the card front. I created a 1.5″ wide support strip and scored it down the middle and attached 1/2 of the support to the back of the truck and the other 1/2 to the concrete oval. The truck naturally wants to spring up on the hinge, but it still folds flat down to tuck inside an envelope for mailing.

On the bottom of the card front, I sponged on Distress Oxide Ink in Kitch Flamingo and Carved Pumpkin. I splattered water over the ink and blotted it dry with a paper towel. I stamped the cone images over the top in Kitch Flamingo and Carved Pumpkin once it was dry.  Next, I added dots using Copics in YR68, RV55 and a white gel pen. I stamped the phrase on the front in black. An Icing Border die design, cut from white cardstock, was added to the bottom. I attached the card front to the card base to complete the card.

Swimming Pool Die Focused Cards with Isha and Kavya

Hello everyone, Isha here with a fun summer theme card for you featuring the Swimming Pool dies. These dies have so many scoring details that it's fun to colour them too. 

I started by sponging some inks to create the grass and sky background. I then die-cut the pool using the Swimming Pool Dies, coloured the water using watercolours and the pool side using copic markers. I then die-cut the poolside three more times and stacked them together. Adhere to the card.

Stamp the images using copic friendly ink, colour and die-cut.

Hi folks, Kavya here. I am back on the blog with another fun card for you all. Today’s card was inspired by Marine Simon - an amazing card maker that I always look up to. She used the newly released Swimming Pool Die to create a pond complete with adorable frogs! I decided to use it just like she did and create a fun jungle scene with a hippo walking in a lake. 

I started off by creating a background by ink blending Saltwater Taffy and Dried Marigold for the sky and a strip of green cardstock for the grass. I created my lake by using green and blue cardstock ink blended with coordinating dye inks. 

Then, I stamped and colored a bunch of images from Savannah Safari and Tropical Scenes stamp sets. Finally, I added a heat embossed sentiment and I was done!

Designer's Choice Cards with Marine and Marieke

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm back with a rainbow shaker card featuring some cute and colorful jellyfish from Fintastic Friends. I first started by stamping six jellyfish using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, and I went all rainbow to color those adorable sea critters.

I cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches bristol panel, and to match the jellyfish, I picked some oxide inks to create an underwater rainbow background. From the top to the bottom I applied: kitsch flamingo, squeezed lemonade, cracked pistachio, peacock feathers and wilted violet. I added a little bit of texture but not too much: water splatters and white ink splatters.

Next I created the shaker. I cut the frame and two borders out of white cardstock using the Tropical Trees Backdrop die set, and first attached the frame on a piece of acetate. At the back of that frame, I added two layers of foam strips, poured a bunch of clear jewels inside the window, and then attached my rainbow panel to the foam strips to close and complete the shaker panel.

On the front of the card, I attached a border on each side, these are like vertical rocks and the jellyfish will swim between those two walls. I also embossed my sentiment from Best Fishes in white in two parts: "It's your birthday" & "Make a splash" on black cardstock. And I trimmed those two phrases into two slim banners that I attached on my panel, along with the rainbow jellyfish, using foam squares.

As always I finished my card with some white highlights on the images, and I added a few clear droplets here and there on each side to totally complete my card.

Hello Sunny Studio friends, Marieke here. Today I hope to inspire you with a fun underwater birthday card using a few different stamps together. 

First off I made the background using Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Broken China and Chipped Sapphire Distress ink. Splattered some water and inked up some rays using Salty Ocean and a stencil.

Stamped all the images from the Fintastic Friends, Tropical Scenes and the Purrfect Birthday stamps. Colored them up using my Copic markers and cut them using the matching dies. Stamped and cut the shark using the mirror image technique and cut the cake.

Decided where I wanted the large air bubble to be and drew it using my Copic markers and white gel pen, added a few smaller ones above the large one. Heat set the sentiments from the Fintastic Friends and Heartfelt Wishes stamps on the card. Added all the images onto the card and finished it off using some glossy accent on all the air bubbles.

Fintastic Friends Cards with Alma and Gladys

It's Alma and today I want to show you a card featuring the wonderful new Fintastic Friends Stamps Set. 

First of all I stamped the motifs and coloured them with Copics. For my underwater scene, I also stamped and colored the corals from the Tropical Scenes Stamps Set. They should shine really brightly. I punched out the images with the corresponding Outline Dies (Tropical Scenes Dies & Fintastic Friends Dies).

I chose a card design using the filmstrip from Sunny Studio's retired Fall Flicks Filmstrip Dies Set. So I punched out the film strip three times and glued it on top of each other to give the card a 3D effect. 

The background was wiped with Distress Oxides Inks in the colours Wilted Violet, Peackock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio, then sprinkled the colours with water and added highlights with the white gel pen. Finally I assembled everything, stamped the text from the Fintastic Friends Stamps Set and attached the animals with 3D Pads!

Hello crafty friends! Gladys here with a fun ocean theme slimline card using the Fintastic Friends stamps and dies.

To begin I stamped and colored the ocean critters from Fintastic Friends and the cute kids from Kiddie Pool. I also colored a few of the ocean elements for the ocean floor. All the images were cut using their coordinating dies.

Next I used a scalloped slimline die to cut from Bristol Smooth cardstock. I ink blended the background using distress oxide inks. I used the colors salvaged patina, salty ocean, prized ribbon, tea dye and vintage photo. For interest I used a small paint brush to add water droplets and diluted white paint to add speckles.

Once the panel was dry I arrange the scene and took a photo to remember the placement of the images. I used foam tape for most of the images to add dimension and liquid glue for the others. For the sentiment I white heat embossed it on black cardstock which was then cut down using a fishtail banner die. That completes my card I hope you like it!
