Designer's Choice Cards with Catherine and Bobbi

Hello Friends! Catherine here, sharing a swimming pool edge to edge shaker card created with the new Swimming Pool Die and the adorable friends from Kiddie Pool Stamps.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Kiddie Pool Summer Card by Catherine Cohen (featuring Swimming Pool Dies)

For the pool water background, I ink blended white cardstock sized 4.25” x 5.5” with Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Ink. I lightly splattered Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink mixed with some water onto the background. I then embossed another piece of white cardstock sized 4.25”x 5.5” with Moroccan Circles Embossing Folder. The Moroccan Circles has a summer feel is perfect for this card.

I used the Swimming Pool Die to die cut the top left side and the bottom right side of the embossed cardstock to complete the card front.

I placed the embossed cardstock onto the water background and lightly traced the pool shapes. I adhered foam tape all around the pools. I added Blue Topaz, Crystal Clear Jewels, and Magic Blue Jewels into the pools. I then wrapped a polybag which was cut 6.5” x 5.5” around the card and secured it with double-sided tape on the back.

Next, I place double sided tape onto the back of the card front and adhered it onto the pool background.  I added some cute pool friends from Kiddie Pool Stamps, and swimming accessories from Beach Buddies and Sealiously Sweet which were colored with Copic Markers. I finished off the card with white heat embossed sentiments from the Kiddie Pool Stamps and Fabulous Flamingoes.

Hi there! It’s Bobbi here with a thinking of you card designed for the summer season. Nothing says summer like tropical leaves and hibiscus flowers. This floral centerpiece is a special way to send happy thoughts to someone you are thinking about.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Summer Greenery Card by Bobbi Lemanski (featuring Tropical Paradise)

I am using the following Sunny Studio Stamps products:

Summer Greenery Dies

Tropical Paradise Stamps

Watering Can Stamps

Sweet Treat Bag Dies

To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I started with a light wash of color on Canson XL Watercolor paper using Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor paint. I used soft blues and yellows which also created some nice greens, too. For the centerpiece bowl, I got creative with my Sunny Studio dies. I used the rounded flap from the Sweet Treat Bag die set and added a striped piece of pattern paper from the Subtle Greys pad for a decorative top edge to the bowl.  I used my Copic C1 and C0 to add shading below the pattern strip to make it look more real.

For the centerpiece flowers and foliage, I cut a number of sets of leaves using the Summer Greenery Dies and colored them using G28, YG67, YG17, YG03, and YG00. I like to make them look a bit striped because often they really are a bit striped in real life. Rarely are they perfectly blended (I spent years in my mom’s flower shop!)

For the hibiscus, I used the following red Copic markers to color them: R89, R29, R24, R17, R43, R22, YR31, and Y21. For the butterfly, I used YR27, YR24 and YR21. The leaves and flowers were arranged into the centerpiece bowl and adhered in place. I use Scrapbook Adhesives foam squares to make the flowers stand out a bit more. I added some sparkle to the front using coordinating shades of  embellishment jewels. Lastly, the front was attached to a white card base using double-sided tape. Tip: The double sided tape holds watercolor paper flat and keeps the edges secure.

Kiddie Pool Cards with Bobbi and Catherine

Hello Sunny Studio friends! It’s Bobbi here with a summer card featuring the new products, Kiddie Pool stamp set and coordinating die set. I’m also using the palm trees from the Ocean View Stamps for my 5″ X 7″ card. This Kiddie Pool stamp set has all the summer lovin’ fun in one set. Friends, a backyard pool, fruity drinks… what more do you need? How about a BIG, refreshing splash?!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Kiddie Pool Summer Themed Card by Bobbi Lemanski (featuring Ocean View)

To create this card, I stamped, die cut and colored the palm trees, pool, kids, and chair images. I used the following colors:

Grass: YG 67, YG63, YG61, YG03 and YG00 Copic colors
Pool: R27, R17, R14, YR68, Y38, Y19, Y15, YG67, YG03, YG00, B26, B02, B00
Kids: E21, E11, E04, E00, R01, BG97, BG93, R27, Y19, R17, R14, E57, E55, E43, E49
Sky: B0000, B000, BG000
Palm Trees: E57, E43, YG67, YG03, YG23, YG00

I knew I wanted to make a big splash coming out of the pool so I hand drew in some splashes using Copics in B21, B41, B02, B00 and a very fine tip gray marker.

I added a stripe of Subtle Grey Tones pattern paper at the bottom of my card scene with a 1/4″ black strip over the seam. I stamped the phrase in the lower right corner. Once all of the elements were positioned and secured in place, I added Glass Effect Gel drops in a turquoise color in and around the pool area for dimensional water drops. I think these kids are having the time of their (summer) life!

Hello Friends! Catherine here, sharing a “fish you were here” card featuring the cute Kiddie Pool Stamps and Kiddie Pool Dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Kiddie Pool Summer Themed Card by Catherine Cohen (featuring Swimming Pool Dies, Fluffy Cloud Border Dies, Ocean View)

To start, I masked off 3” from the bottom and ink blended the sky with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink using a stencil made with Fluffy Couds Border DiesI then splattered the the clouds with the same ink mixed with water.

For the ocean, I masked off the clouds and ink blended the ocean starting with Tumbled Glass, followed by Mermaid Lagoon, and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Inks. I then used the wave die from Swimming Pool Die to make the waves for the sharks. I colored the friends and pool from Kiddie Pool Stamps and die cut with Kiddie Pool Dies.

I adhered the pool onto a small tropical island with palm trees from Tropical Scenes Stamps. For the shark fins, I used the shark from Best Fishes Stamps and the stingray from Fintastic FriendsI tucked the shark fins into the waves and used a white gelly roll pen to add foam.

I finished off the card with a white heat embossed sentiment from
Oceans of Joy and added a crab and seashell from Ocean View.

Swimming Pool Die Focused Cards by Marieke and Marine

Hello Sunny Studio friends, Marieke here. Today I hope to inspire you with a slimline shaker card using the Swimming Pool Die

Sunny Studio Stamps: Swimming Pool Die Focused Card by Marieke Slaats (featuring Sending Sunshine, Sunshine Word Die, Kiddie Pool)

So first I started with the wooden deck. Using wood grain specialty paper I cut the slimline rectangle. Then cut strips of 1/4 inch and cut some in three pieces and the other ones in two pieces. Ink Blended each of them using Walnut Stain Distress inkt and glued them on another kraft rectangle.

Die cut the Swimming Pool die out of the middle and adhered some acetate behind it. Cut a slightly smaller blue rectangle, traced it on the back of the kraft rectangle and added some foam tape on the back of the kraft rectangle and "closed" the swimming pool so it would turn into a shaker compartment. Filled the compartment with sequins and closed it using the blue rectangle.

Used Copic Colors:
Swimming Pool - C1, C00, 0
Purple - BV17, BV04, BV13, BV02
Yellow - Y17, Y15, Y13
Teal - BG15, BG13, BG11
Pink - RV06, RV04, RV02
Green - YG67, YG03, YG01
White - C5, C3, C1, C00, 0
Tree Trunks - E47, E44, E43
Chairs - E37, E35, E33, E31
Skin - E000, E00, E11, E21, E04 / R22, R20
Blond hair - YR24, YR23, Y21, Y11
Brown Hair (girl) - E37, E35, E33, E31
Black / Brown Hair - W9, W6, W5, W3
Brown Hair (boy) - E59, E57, E55, E53

Die cut the Swimming Pool die 4 times out of white cardstock and on one of them I added some grey details using my Copic markers. Adhered them together, die cut the stairs out of silver cardstock and glued it on to the swimming pool.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Swimming Pool Die Focused Card by Marieke Slaats (featuring Sending Sunshine, Sunshine Word Die, Kiddie Pool)

Stamped the images of Kiddie PoolSending SunshineTropical Scenes stamps. Colored them up using my Copic markers and cut them using the matching dies or cut them by hand. Adhered all the images onto the cardbase using foam tape.

Heat set the sentiment out of Sending Sunshine on some yellow cardstock and cut it into a smaller strip. Die cut the larger word four times out of link cardstock using the Sunshine Word die, glued them together and added some white gel pen details. Stamped the sentiment from the Kiddie Pool on some white cardstock and cut it using a speech bubble die.

Adhered the shaker onto a 1/2 inch larger white rectangle. Cut a top fold white base card 1/3 larger than the white rectangle and added the paper out of the Sleek Stripes Paper Pad. Adhered everything onto the base card using double sided tape and my card was all done.

Hey crafty friends! Marine here with you today, back with three little frogs having fun around the pond! I used the Swimming Pool die to create the pond, as well as some images from different sets to make this cute scene:

Sunny Studio Stamps: Swimming Pool Die Focused Card by Marine Simon (featuring Country Scenes, Feeling Froggy)

I stamped all those cute images using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, coloring them using my alcohol markers, and cut everything using the coordinating dies.

For the background, I first cut a 5,5" x 4,25" bristol panel, and I used grass stencils along with mowed lawn + rustic wilderness distress oxide inks to create a large grass section on half of the panel. And on the rest of the panel, I created the sky using a cloud stencil along with tumbled glass + salty ocean distress oxide inks.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Swimming Pool Die Focused Card by Marine Simon (featuring Country Scenes, Feeling Froggy)

Next I cut the Swimming Pool element, and I wanted the pond to look natural, so I colored it using grey markers to give it some stone effect. And to make the water inside the pond, I placed the die on a piece of bristol cardstock, traced the shape on the paper, fussy cut it, and then I colored that element using shabby shutters + broken china distress oxide inks.

I attached my pond border on the water element using foam squares, and then I stuck the whole piece on the panel using liquid glue. I cut around the frog images to get rid of the lily pads, and next I attached all my cute images on the panel around the pond using foam squares and glue dots.

For the sentiment, I stamped the words "You're" & "Awesome" on the top part of the panel, and between those words, I glued some letters that I cut using the Chloe Alphabet die set to finally read "You're froggin' awesome".

I finished my card by attaching the panel on a kraft card base and adding white details and highlights on the images, and that's it! We have a cute and fun little scene, and I hope that you like it! As always, feel welcome to check the process video for more details (click the image above). Thanks for stopping by and see you next week!
