Dashing Dachshund Card with Isha

Hello everyone! Isha here with another festive theme card featuring the adorable Dashing Dachshund stamp and dies. This card can be mass produced and the ombre sponging and sentiment takes it up a level.

I started by die-cutting the semi circle from the Stitched Semi-Circle die. Sponge clouds using a cloud mask I made from the Slimline Nature Border dies. I used salty ocean distress ink for this. Now apply more salty ocean, blueprint sketch and chipped sapphire distress oxide inks to create the depth. Stamp the smaller of the snowflakes from the set. Flick some ink and white paint splatters.

Stamp the bigger snowflake. Stamp the images, color using copic markers and die-cut using coordinating dies. Add glitter to parts of the images. Stamp the sentiment from the Holiday Greetings stamp set using various blue inks for an ombrè look. Die-cut using the coordinating dies. Die-cut the sentiment 3 more times using red card and stack them behind the sentiment. Adhere pattern paper from the Joyful Holiday paper pack to a white card base. Assemble the card.

Sunflower Fields Card with Isha

Hello everyone! Isha here sharing a CAS card using the Sunflower Fields stamps and dies. I love these layering stamps as it's so easy to layer and achieve beautiful dimensional effects in no time. 

I started by creating a watercolor background onto watercolor paper using peacock feathers distress ink. Adhere it to a white cardbase. Stamp the flowers and leaves using various inks. Die-cut using the coordinating dies.

Die-cut the word hello from the Slimline Scalloped Frame dies. I die-cut it twice, once with white and once with black cardstock. Adhere the white over the black die-cut, slightly offset.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Cards with Hanh Nguyen

Hello, Crafty Friends! This is Hanh Nguyen here with you. I am so thrilled to be Guest Designing for Sunny Studio and celebrating the newest Fall/Holiday Release. I can't believe that we are 3 short months away from Christmas! I absolutely love Christmas and have two holiday projects to share with you today.

My first project is a mini slimline pop-up box card featuring these adorable images for the new Truckloads of Love and Dashing Dachshund sets. This Truckload is so versatile with images that are just perfect for so many different occasions. I also used one of the scenes from the Scenic Route set for my background.

I stamped the images onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb card stock. I colored the images with Copic markers and accented them with gel pens. I used the coordinating Truckloads of LoveDie Set and Dashing DachshundDie Set to cut them out.

I created a boxcard from one panel (5.5" x 4.5") and two strips (7.5" x 1.25") of red cardstock. I scored the strips at the 1.5" and 7" marks. The box card measures 4.5" x 7" when folded. I made some snowy hill shelves using one of the dies from the Slimline NatureBorders Die set. I colored the edge lightly with a Copic marker. I ink-blended the blue background with some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink and added snow with a white gel pen. 

For the sentiment, I combined sentiments from the Truckloads of Love set with one from the Feeling Frosty set. I stamped some snowflakes from the Dashing Dachshund set with the same Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink. 

I assembled the box card and adhered all of my colored images with liquid adhesive. I also added some large snowflakes that I die-cut from the new Woolen Mittens Dies.

My second card is a shaped card that I created with the Woolen Mittens Die set. This is such a fun set and has so many possibilities. 

I die-cut the mitten once out of red cardstock and once out of a white A2 card base (the die was placed slightly beyond the fold line to preserve the fold). I also die-cut some snowflakes, holly leaves, and berries for the decorations. I lightly colored the edges of the die cut with matching Copic markers and added highlights with a white gel pen for some interest and dimension. I decorated the red mitten. 

Next, I stamped a sentiment from the Inside Greetings - Holiday Set onto the inside of the card base before adhering the red mitten to the front. 

I had so much fun playing with these sets and truly appreciated this amazing opportunity to Guest Design for Sunny Studio Stamps.

Little Buckaroo Card with Cathy

Howdy friends! Cathy here today and I’m excited to share my take on the Little Buckaroo Stamps with a Southwestern scene! I had a ton of fun creating this by combining several stamp sets that you might not think of using for a desert scene.

I started this A2 card with an Arizona desert background. I created this by drawing the mountain landscape on a 3” x 6” piece of Eclipse masking tape. There’s nothing complicated to drawing this. I just looked at photos online and drew a very simple outline. I cut along the line with scissors leaving me with a mask for the mountains and a mask for the sky as pictured below:

I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white cardstock panel, placed the sky mask at the top and inked the mountains with Rusty Hinge and Brushed Corduroy Distress inks. I then masked the mountains and punched a circle in a piece of Eclipse masking tape for the sun. I inked the sun with Squeezed Lemonade Distress ink and masked it as well before inking the sky with Scattered Straw, Ripe Persimmon, Dried Marigold and Saltwater Taffy Distress inks. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Critter Campout Stamps with black embossing powder.

Next, I cut 2 pieces of white cardstock (2 1/4" x 5 1/2" and 2 1/2" x 5 1/2") and inked them with Tea Dye and Tattered Rose Distress inks. I die-cut the top edge of each piece using dies from the Slimline Nature Border Dies.

Since I tucked some images behind the hills, I waited to adhere them to the background panel. I stamped all images on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb solar white cardstock, colored them with Copics and fussy cut them out. I used the following stamps:

I finished by tucking some of the stamped images behind the hill pieces and adhering everything as shown. I just love how some of the ocean themed stamps helped to bring this desert scene together! I hope this inspires you to look at your stamps in new ways and maybe find the unexpected.

Outback Critters Card with Cathy

Hey friends! Cathy here today sharing a fun card featuring the adorable Outback Critter Stamps. They decided to take a vacation to the coast! Tropical/ocean themed cards are my absolute favorite to make so I couldn’t resist a little surfin’ wombat and chillin’ koala on the beach.

I started this A2 card with the sky and ocean background. I cut a piece of white cardstock 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and placed post-it notes across the panel 2” from the top edge to mask the sky. I inked the ocean with Salvaged Patina and Peacock Feathers Distress inks. I then removed the post-it notes and inked the sky with a cloud stencil using Tumbled Glass Distress ink.

Next, I cut 2 strips of white cardstock (1 3/8”x 5 1/2", 2” x 5 1/2") and die-cut the top edge of each using the Catch a Wave Dies. I inked both with Salvaged Patina and Peacock Feathers Distress inks and splattered a little water on them. I also used a white gel pen on the top of a few waves. I adhered these to the background panel with the 2” wide strip behind the 1 3/8” wide strip. For the sand, I cut a strip of white cardstock 1 1/4" x 5 1/2", die-cut the top edge using a Slimline Nature Borders Die and inked it with Antique Linen Distress ink.

I stamped all the images on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb solar white cardstock, colored them with Copics and fussy cut them out. I used the following stamps:

To finish, I heat embossed sentiments from the Beach Buddies Stamps on teal cardstock in white embossing powder. I fussy cut around the “Summer” sentiment and die-cut the “wishing you an endless” sentiment using a die from the Notebook Photo Corners Dies.
