Guest Designer Spotlight: Christmas Cards with Francine Vuillème

Hi everyone!  Francine Vuillème here! I’m so glad to be back on the Sunny Studio blog as a guest. I have two cards for you today.

For my first project, I’m featuring the Blissful Baking stamp set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Blissful Baking Christmas Card by Francine Vuillème

This set is the cutest!!! Look at all those baking tools and ingredients . I decided to create a little scene in non-traditional Christmas colors. I colored all images with Copic markers and cut them out with scissors. I created the tablecloth with a gingham paper and sponged the background with blue ink. I adhered the images with foam pads to the table to create this sweet baking scene. The sentiment is from the Blissful Baking stamp set too and was stamped in black ink. To finish off my card, I fixed the scene with foam pads to a soft blue card base.

For my second project, I’m featuring the fabulous Holiday Style layering stamp set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Holiday Style Jingle Bell with Tree Branch Christmas Card by Francine Vuillème

The bell looks so real, it's amazing! I decided to create a monochromatic card with a touch of red. I stamped the pine branch in light grey directly onto the card base, as well as the sentiment in black ink. I then stamped the bell, from the darkest to the lightest, onto a white panel and cut it out with scissors. I adhered the bell to the card base with foam pads for more dimension. To finish off my card, I made a cute little bow with a red and white gingham ribbon that I glued over the bell. I really like the elegant look of that color scheme. That red stands out so beautifully!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Bundled Up Sweet Christmas Card by Lexa

Hi everyone! Lexa here with inspiration using the Bundled Up set featuring an adorable little penguin who will be today's star. I'm counting down to Christmas, the most festive of holidays with so many treats. I remember how my granny always baked for us on Christmas day.  Her special treat is pineapple tarts --They're super yummy!!  And I am taking that precious memory as today's inspiration. I paired up the little penguin with the Blissful Baking stamps and it's coordinating dies for today's card.

I came up with the idea of creating my grandma's kitchen scene. I started with a piece of 4.25" x5 .5" white smooth cardstock and create a background by blending some Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar Distress Inks. Honestly, I stamped tiny flowers from Happy Home stamp on the background to make it kinda look like a wallpaper. But sadly, it didn't show up in the picture.

The kitchen cabinet is a 1" x 5.5" piece of polka-dot patterned paper, while the doors are 3/4" x 3/4". I stamped all the images with Versafine black ink on watercolor paper. And colored them with Distress Inks, after they all set up I gave some details with white gel pen and glossy accent. The penguin size is just perfect with the tray, together with some assorted cookies on it. Yum. Here's a closer look...

Christmas Icons Sweet Wishes Cookie Card with Vanessa

Hi everybody! Vanessa here with a card using the Christmas Icons and Blissful Baking sets. I haven't started baking for Christmas yet, but embellished some cookies on today's card :)

Sunny Studio Stamps: Christmas Icons & Blissful Baking Tree Cookie Card by Vanessa Menhorn.

First, I stamped the tree cookies, always masking the stamped ones before stamping the next. Then I removed the masks and colored the images with Copics. Now I stamped the tiny elements around the cookies. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark Ink and embossed it with gold glitter embossing powder. Finally, I adhered the panel to my card base.

Creating A Background using Merry Sentiments with Lindsey

Hi! Lindsey here today sharing a card featuring the new stamp set, Merry Sentiments as well as some accents from Christmas Icons. I love being able to mix and match my stamp sets and these two pair perfectly together. Let's get started on how I created this card.

To begin, I cut a piece of white card stock a little smaller than an A2 size. Then I used all the different sentiments from Merry Sentiments to cover the white base. I simply laid out the sentiment I wanted to used and stamped it in either a red or green dye ink. I just built the design as I went, and I also added in some of the adorable images from Christmas Icons in order to make the card more interesting.

I used Copic markers to color the images. To finish the stamped part of the card base, I added a piece of ribbon and tied a knot. Then, I popped the stamped base up with some foam adhesive onto a green A2 card base. That's it!

This was a pretty simple card to create. You just have to be patient when choosing your sentiments in order for them to "fit" where you want them. I hope you'll give this design a try, and I can't wait to see how yours turn out. Thanks for reading and have a great day!

But, I also wanted to do something special for you too so all orders over $25 within the USA will automatically ship for free.

Plus, I'm super excited to say we got more of these babies in stock today just in time for both events!

I used the Fishtail Banners and Fishtail Banner II die sets to create the rooftop for the house, which was dry embossed with a woodgrain embossing folder. After heat embossing the sentiment, I added a wreath from Christmas Icons to balance out the bits of red on the card.

Mug Hugs For You Card with Eloise

Hi everyone, Eloise here and today I'm showing you a fun card featuring the new Mug Hugs stamp set. This card would be perfect for giving a gift card with to your recipients favourite coffee shop!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Mug Hugs Coffee & Hot Chocolate Card by Eloise Blue.

To begin my card today I stamped, coloured and die cut all my images out. I used my Misson Gold Watercolors for the colouring today, since they're quick and easy. Once my colouring was done I pulled a piece of watercolour paper and ink blended a couple of grey Distress Inks on the paper and then added a water splotch effect, using some clean water on a paint brush.

I then needed to decorate my card base. I pulled a piece of red snowflake patterned paper and covered my card base completely and adhered it down. I then used some fun foam on the back of my grey piece and adhered that down to the bottom section of my card, leaving a little patterned paper showing. I then used some liquid adhesive to adhered down a couple of my mugs, candy cane and cookie to the grey piece and some foam adhesive for the remaining mug.

To finish up my card I added some wink of stella to my images and then for the sentiment, I die cut a little circle tag and stamped the 'for you' sentiment on there from the "Christmas Icons" stamp set in some black ink. I added some twine around the top of my coloured images and threaded the sentiment tag into my bow and that finished up the card.

I hope you enjoyed and check back the rest of the week for more inspiration!

- Eloise
