Special Day Card with Tina

Hello crafty friends, Tina here with a festive wedding card featuring the versatile Special Day stamp and die set. As you may know I love to mix and match and the cute couple from Wedded Bliss works great with this big love themed cake!

Over the years I noticed that my style of cards got more diverse. When I started in 2015, I mostly created very colorful scene cards. Now I have learned to embrace the power of ‘white space’! Making a true CAS (clean and simple) card is still hard, but I do love an elegant white background with a bit of structure.

That is why I chose the beautiful Frilly Frames Eyelet Lace dies for this festive card. You immediately get a gorgeous intricate background with just one pass through the die cut machine! Love that!

I stamped and die cut the big ‘love themed’ cake and two extra flowers from Special Day and the cuties from Wedded Bliss. Having that white background, I really needed my images to stand out and pop. That is why I selected bright and happy Copic marker colors. I also tried to create depth by using complementary colors. I added a bit of dark green in the corners of the pink ribbons and hearts. That immediately darkens these areas. The cake got a realistic feel to it by adding dots with brown Copics and a white gel pen.

The beautiful sentiment from Special Day was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto a white strip and I fussy cut it for a different look. To assemble the card, I first glued the lace background to a white card base and added the images and sentiment with foam tape. Adhering a few pink Pastel Jewels was all the embellishment this card needed.

Special Day Card with Isha

Hello everyone! Isha here with a bright and happy CAS card featuring the Special Day stamps and coordinating dies. This set is so versatile, perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and more. I went with a fun 20th birthday card, which I made keeping my daughter in mind :)

I started by sponging a white panel with picked raspberry and mustard seed distress oxide inks. I left the center light to create a halo around my focal image. Next I added subtle details by inking the same colors through the Heffy Doodle twinkle twinkle stencil. Now add white paint splatters and let it dry. Adhere this panel to a white cardbase.

I die-cut the frame using the Fancy Frames Rectangle. Adhere to the card. Stamp the images from the Special Day stamps, color using copics and die-cut using the coordinating dies. Apply, nuvo clear shimmer pen to the parts of the images for extra shimmer.

Adhere to the card using 3d foam. Stamp the sentiment, sponge some ink to the edges and adhere to the card.

Special Day Card with Marine

Hey crafty friends, Marine here, I'm thrilled to be back on the blog today with this adorable wedding shaker card showcasing one of the gorgeous cakes from Special Day, as well as some cute wedded bunnies and guests from Bunnyville.

As very often I started off by stamping my images on Transotype perfect coloring paper using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and Graph'it Brush markers. And in addition to the images from Special Day and Bunnyville, I picked the banner from Balloon Rides, the bow from Passionate Penguins and the grass from Garden Critters.

Once the images were colored, I moved on to the background, and cut a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel that I colored using stencils and oxide inks. On the upper part I created the sky using a cloudy stencil along with salvaged patina + peacock feathers oxide inks. And on the lower part I created grass borders using grass stencils along with shabby shutters + mowed lawn oxide inks.

Next I cut a Stitched Arch window out of my panel, folded an A2 size white card base, and attached the middle part of my panel on that card base using the rest of the panel as a guide. At the back of the rest of my panel I stuck a piece of acetate to create the window, and then added foam tape all around the arch to create dimension and room for my shaker accessories. I rubbed my powder tool all along the foam strips to make them non sticky, poured some polymer clay heart confetti and iridescent confetti on the card base, and finally attached my window panel on the card base to close the shaker.

Before sticking the images on the card, I created the greeting. I cut a dark kraft banner as wide as the arch window, white heat embossed my "Wishing you a big slice of happiness" sentiment from Special Day on top of it, and attached this banner below the arch window to create some sort of a globe. Next I attached all my cute images, and finished the card by adding highlights and details using a white gel pen.

And that's it! Love how it turned out, this wedding cake is really gorgeous and those happy bunnies are super cute! Thank you so much for stopping by, and see you next week!
