Lazy Christmas Cards with Ashley and Mayra

Hello friends! It's Ashley with an adorable critter Christmas card featuring the lovable sloths from Lazy Christmas. These sloths are just too cute and the matching sentiments absolutely crack me up!

I started by blending Distress Oxide inks in Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, and Black Soot onto light aqua cardstock to make an ombre background. I used a white gel pen to add some dots and stars for interest, then added a dark teal frame made with the Christmas Garland Frame die. I cannot stop using this die it seems! It's too perfect for adding a little something extra to holiday cards!

I stamped several images from Lazy Christmas and Christmas Critters in Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink and colored with Copics before cutting them out with the matching dies. I added the images to the card, popping a few up with foam tape for dimension. For the sentiment, I stamped a phrase from Lazy Christmas in VersaMark ink on a strip of black cardstock and embossed with white before adding it to my card with foam tape.

Hello and happy Monday everyone. Mayra here to share this card with you today using the super cute Lazy Christmas stamp set. 

I began by coloring the image from the set using Copic markers. I also used the small ribbon with bells from the Holiday Express stamp set. I used E41, E31, E55, E35, and E87 for the brown areas. For the red, I used R22, R05, R27, R46, R59, and E09. 

Next, I die cut the base panel for the card using the Stitched Rectangles dies set, the Stitched Circle Small dies set, and the Scalloped Circle Mat 1 dies set. The patterned paper is from the All Is Bright 6x6 paper pad.  

I then die-cut the holly leaves using the Winter Greenery die set. The sentiment is from the Season's Greetings stamp set.

Oval Die Focused Cards with Marine and Anja

Hi crafty friends, Marine here with a tunnel shaker card featuring three super cute penguins having fun and dancing to celebrate the holidays. They are from Penguin Pals as well as the fishes, postcards and candy canes, and I also picked the tree from Feeling Frosty. I stamped those images on white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, and colored them using my alcohol markers.

Next I created the tunnel panels. I cut four 5,5 x 4,25" panels out of grey, white glitter and white cardstock as well as a grey pattern paper from the Subtle Grey Tones paper pack. I set the pattern paper panel aside and kept the three others. And using dies from Stitched Oval 2, I cut a large oval window out of the grey panel, a medium oval window out of the white glitter panel, and a small oval window out of the white panel.

I wanted this tunnel card to be a shaker card as well, so I kept the white panel and attached a piece of acetate at the back of it using liquid glue. I added foam tape at the back of each tunnel panel.

And on the white panel, I also added foam tape all around the window to create room for the sequins. I applied powder all along the inside edges of the foam around the window (the powder makes the edges of the foam non sticky and this way the sequins don't stick to it), I cleaned the acetate, and then I added a mix of white sequins, snowflakes, Pure white jewels and Crystal clear jewels into the window section. I peeled the backing off the foam tape and attached the pattern paper panel to totally close the shaker. And then I stuck the two other tunnel panel on top of this shaker panel: the white glitter one first and then the grey one on top.

To finish this tunnel nicely, I created a frame. I first used the largest die from Scalloped Oval Mat 1 to cut a white woodgrain panel, and then I used the largest die from Stitched Oval 2 to cut a window out of this woodgrain element and this way create an oval frame that I attached on the tunnel panel.

I also cut and glued a white wavy border at the bottom of the panel, and then I attached the images using liquid glue, foam squares and glue dots. Finally I white heat embossed my sentiment "It's penguining to look a lot like Christmas" from Penguin Pals on a slim blue banner that I attached at the top of the tunnel using liquid glue.

Hello everyone, Anja here and today I'm sharing another holiday card where I mixed and matched several fun products. The Scalloped Oval Mat 1 Dies and the Stitched Oval 2 Dies set the scene for the sweet Lazy Christmas sloth.

First, I created an A2 card base from white heavyweight cardstock. I die cut the peppermint stripes paper from the All Is Bright 6x6 Paper pack with the largest of the Stitched Rectangle Dies. The scalloped oval was cut from teal cardstock. I die cut the stitched oval from white cardstock as well as from Subtle Grey Tones woodgrain paper. I trimmed the patterned paper and adhered it to the bottom. I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark Ink and heat embossed them with silver embossing powder.

Next, I stamped the images from several sets (find them listed below) in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic Markers. I cut everything out with the coordinating dies. The fir tree was stamped in green and brown ink and I added Rainbow Pearls in matching colors as ornaments. Finally, I assembled my card by adhering everything with liquid glue.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Tags & Cards with Anni Lerche

Hey stampers, Anni Lerche here! I am so happy and proud to be a guest designer for Sunny Studio! I got to play with the two new sets Lazy Christmas and Bear Hugs – so so cute. I had so much fun.

I made three tags using the set Bear Hugs because I couldn’t decide for an image. They are all so adorable. And I love to make tags. They make every gift more special and – if needed – you can quickly turn them into a card.

I started by stamping the bears with a waterproof ink and coloured them with Distress Reinkers. To darken up the shadows I used some coloured pencils. This is my favourite way of colouring.

For the backgrounds I added ink blending with Distress Oxides. The grounds I created by die cutting the Slimline Nature Borders from cardstock.

For the starry background I also sprinkled water and watered down white gesso on the cardstock. The sentiment is the Thank You Word die.

For this autumn tag I stamped a few leaves I could find in my stash and cut them out. I coloured them loosely with the Distress reinkers and added them randomly to the birch trees.

And I also created this Christmas card with the super cute sloth set. I chose some untraditional colours for the card. The images I coloured the same way as the bears. For the sentiment I used an older die called Merry Word. I love to stack up word die cuts for more dimension.

On the bottom I used the gifts from the sets. I turned them in different directions. This way it seems as if I am using a few stamps.

Lazy Christmas Cards with Marine and Anja

Hey crafty friends, Marine here, I'm so happy to share with you this new holiday shaker card showcasing the lovely Lazy Christmas stamp set that features two super cute sloths. I stamped those cuties as well as two branches on white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, cut them using the coordinating dies and then used my alcohol markers to color them.

After the coloring I moved on to the background and started by creating a turquoise panel. I cut a 5,5 x 4,25" Strathmore bristol panel and applied salvaged patina oxide ink all over the panel and then peacock feathers oxide ink on the edges to bring more contrast.

As always I added lots of splatters on the panel to make it less flat and more interesting: water, peacock feathers + water, liquid stardust + water and copic opaque white ink + water.

To frame the card, and give the sloths a habitat, I cut a Botanical Backdrop out of a dark green cardstock, and added a little bit of white splatters on those leaves as well. And to make this jungle card even more festive, I cut another Botanical backdrop out of a silver glitter cardstock. I attached the dark green botanical frame on top of the silver glitter frame, but turned the dark green frame so that the leaves don't match.

I cut a 5,5 x 4,25" heat resistant acetate panel that I placed in my misti tool, placed some stamps right in the middle of the acetate to create my sentiment and picked them up with the door of the misti tool. I applied powder all over the acetate panel using my powder bag to make it antistatic, and then I stamped my sentiment using clear embossing ink. I sprinkled white embossing powder on the ink and used my heat gun to melt the powder.

I attached the acetate panel at the back of the botanical frame using liquid glue at the back of the frame on the four edges and foam squares at the back of some leaves to bring some dimension.

Stuck two layers of foam strips at the back of the frame on the four edges, and used my powder brush tool to apply a generous amount of powder all along the foam strips. This will keep the sequins away from the foam strips. I cleaned the acetate using a microfiber cloth, and poured a mix of sequins directly on the acetate, I carefully peeled the backing papers off the foam strips, and then I stuck my oxide panel on the foam strips to totally close the my shaker panel.

Next I attached the two little sloths and the branches. I used glue dots to stick the branches and foam squares to stick the sloths. And finally I added highlights and details on the images using a white gel pen.

And that's it, we have a super fun and festive shaker card that features the cutest little sloths, and I hope that you like it. Feel welcome to check the process video (click on the photo above), and I will see you next week with a new card!

Hi everyone, Anja here and today I'm back with another holiday card showcasing the Lazy Christmas Stamps. These sloths are just the cutest!

First, I started off with a 4 3/8" x 4 3/8" card base and trimmed down a piece of white cardstock to 4" x 4". I ran it through my die cutting machine with one of the Layered Snowflake Frame Dies. The patterned paper that went behind the opening is from the All Is Bright 6x6 Paper pack. The sentiment was stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black Ink. To create a bit of dimension, I adhered the snowflake frame with foam tape.

Next, I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic Markers. I cut everything out with the coordinating dies. I used foam tape again to pop up my images. Only the Christmas baubles and the holly & berries were adhered flat with liquid glue.
