Quill Cuties Card & Tags with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today and I am so excited to share my first card featuring the new Spring 2026 Release! Did you see all of the amazing new products and sneak peeks? Such a fun and cute release! Today I am sharing a sweet card featuring the absolutely adorable Quill Cuties. 

Aren’t these hedgehogs just the cutest? I love that there are so many to choose from! Which one is your favorite? They are all so cute that it’s hard to choose but I think the one with the heart garland and the one with just the head peeking definitely stole my heart. I had so much fun coloring up these adorable images that I ended up creating a couple of tags with the extra images. I paired this hedgehog set with the new Icing Rectangle Frame Dies and the Zig Zag Circles Dies. So let's get started.

I stamped the images from the Quill Cuties Stamp set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Quill Cuties Dies to die cut them out. I colored the images with Copic markers and accented with a white gel pen.

For the background, I took a piece of white cardstock and masked off the bottom half, I lightly ink blended some Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide onto the top half of the panel. I used the largest die from the new Icing Rectangle Frame Dies to die cut a frame out of red cardstock. (TIP: I found it to be very useful to save the negative from this die cut to help align and adhere the frame to the panel.) I adhered the frame to the panel with liquid glue. 

For the sentiment, I die cut a banner using one of the banner dies from the Stitched Rectangles Dies out of red cardstock. I stamped the “Sending You Hedge Hugs" sentiment from the set with Versamark Watermark ink onto the red banner and heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder. 

I adhered the colored images to the panel with liquid glue. The sentiment banner and little hedgehog next to the banner were adhered to the panel with foam tape for additional dimension and interest. The card front was adhered to an A2 white card base (4.25" x 5.5"). 

I created tags with the extra images that I had colored up. I used the third largest die from the new Zig Zag Circles Dies to die cut two circles out of red cardstock. I used the third largest from the Stitched Circle Large Dies to die cut two circles out of white cardstock. I adhered the colored images to the white circles. I used scissors to cut off the excess from the bottom of the peeking hedgehog so that he would have the same curvature as the circle. I layered and adhered the white and red circles with liquid glue. I used a hole puncher to punch a hole and attached a piece of twine from my stash.

Sneak Peek: Introducing Spring Garland & Inside Greetings Friends

Hello, and welcome to day 5 of our Spring Sneak Peek Week!  All this week I am sharing cards showcasing our newest collection, which will be available for purchase tomorrow!

Card No.1: Today, I am sharing ideas using our beautiful new Spring Garland Stamps and Dies, which feature two groupings of tulip & daffodil flowers, an extra tulip flower & leaf to use as filler, two butterflies, and one large bold greeting. For my first card, I stamped and colored all the elements from the set using artPop! Chisel and Brush Dual Tip Alcohol Markers. I then adhered them to a square card base cut from hot pink patterned paper from the Classic Gingham Paper pack using the Scalloped Square 1 Large Dies. I added another mat over the top using the Stitched Square Dies cut from white cardstock to frame my clean and simple card.

Card No.2: For my second card using the Spring Garland Stamps, I arranged the flowers from the set around two of the stacked labels from the Icing Rectangle Frame Dies and heat-embossed a friendship sentiment from the newest Inside Greetings Friends Stamps. I mounted everything onto a piece of coordinating lavender-patterned paper trimmed down to fit an A2-sized card from the Flirty Florals Paper pack. 

Card No.3: Up next, I created an all-yellow and green card with the Spring Garland Stamps, coloring the tulips yellow to match the daffodils for a fresh monochromatic look. I cut apart a few of the tulips and filled in with the extra tulip and leaf from the set to create one continuous growing border. To the left of the border, I added a mini green swiss dot print, and to the right, a yellow tone-on-tone floral print from the Spring Fever Paper pack. Lastly, I stamped a greeting in the bottom, right corner using the new Inside Greetings Friends Stamps with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink.

Card No.4: My next card using the Spring Garland Stamps, I arranged the flowers colored in pastel pinks and lilacs onto the largest die from the Stitched Oval Dies. I then layered them over a pale blue pierced background using the Dotted Diamond Landscape Dies, and added two butterflies colored to match. Lastly, I once again stamped a friendship sentiment using the Inside Greetings Friends Stamps with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink.

Card No.5: For my last card, I stamped the two groups of flowers from the Spring Garland Stamps in opposing corners with clear VersaMark Ink, heat-embossed with White Detail Embossing Powder, and then watercolored them using Zig Clean Real Brush Markers. I then colored around the flowers using a really watered-down mixture of Broken China Reinker, before splattering the entire panel with Picket Fence Spritz. Watercolors and I are usually not a great match with my perfectionist tendencies and struggling to color inside the lines, so the white mist was the perfect way to disguise some of those coloring imperfections and smooth out the uneven overlapping lines in my background. I finished my card with a simple white frame using the outer die from the Tropical Trees Backdrop Die set and heat-embossed a birthday greeting onto a coordinating shade of blue cardstock using the sentiment from the Big Bold Greetings Stamps. While this card felt like a hot mess through most of the creative process, I persevered, and I love the painterly feel of my finished card.

Sneak Peek: Vintage Valentine Stamps & Speech Bubbles Extras

Hello, and welcome to day 3 of our Spring Sneak Peek Week!  All this week I am sharing cards showcasing our newest collection, which will be available for purchase this Friday!

Card No.1: Today I am sharing ideas using our adorable new Vintage Valentine Stamps and Dies, featuring a retro phone, typewriter, envelope, letter, and a variety of typewritten sentiments. For my first card, I colored three of the telephones in bright, happy colors and arranged them in a 2x2 grid, adding a speech bubble from the new Speech Bubble Extras Dies. These dies are flipped or the mirrored opposite of the dies from our Comic Strip Speech Bubbles, and I'm so happy to finally have them. I always ran into situations where, based on my card design or the sentiment I wanted to use, the card would have benefited from them facing the opposite direction, so now I have unlimited options between the two sets.

Before adhering the telephones, I inked up the background with some Peacock Feathers Distress Ink in the center of my white cardstock panel, and added a stitched zig-zag edge using our Ric Rac Border Dies. For the bottom of my card, I added a 4.25" x 1.25" rainbow striped patterned paper from the Surprise Party Paper pack. I then topped it with a bow by Lawn Fawn and a stitched ribbon from our Ribbon & Lace Border Dies, cut from a blue polka-dot print from the Polka-dot Parade Paper pack.

Card No.2: For my second card, I paired the retro telephone from the Vintage Valentine Stamps with the big bear from our Holiday Hugs Stamps. I then cut an A2-sized panel from blue striped paper from the Dots & Stripes Jewel Tones Paper pack. To frame my bear, I used the smaller frame from the new Loopy Rectangle Frame Dies. I love how this frame mimics the look of a phone cord! Lastly, I stamped a greeting from the set onto one of the new Speech Bubble Extras Dies, which I had inked up with some Tumbled Glass Distress ink.

Card No.3: Next up is a card showcasing the adorable new typewriter from the Vintage Valentine Stamps, which comes already loaded with a piece of paper to add your stamped greeting. This time, I added some little panda bears from our Bighearted Bears Stamps and Panda Party Stamps. For my card background, I cut a piece of red striped paper from the Sleek Stripes Paper pack, and added a stitched band with the black grid paper from the Classic Sunburst Paper pack, using the Slimline Pennant Dies, and trimming off the pennant portion. To frame my little scene, I used our brand new Zig Zag Circles Die, cut from a grey quilted heart print from our Subtle Greytones Paper pack.

Card No.4: For my next card using the typewriter from the Vintage Valentine Stamps, I stamped and colored four of the typewriters in Aqua, Pink, and Red and staggered them in a row across a slimline card. To frame my typewriters, I stamped a black tone-on-tone polka-dot print onto a piece of charcoal grey cardstock using the Background Basics 2 Stamps, and then die-cut it using the Slimline Scalloped Frame Dies. To add visual interest and break up the row of stamped sentiments, I added the large red heart from the set onto the second typewriter's paper and stamped it with "xoxo" in the center.

Card No.5: Next up, I focused on the adorable little letters and matching envelopes from the Vintage Valentine Stamps. For my background on this card, I cut a pink cardstock panel using the Quilted Heart Portrait Dies and backed it with a piece of red cardstock to peek through the heart openings. To frame my grouping of envelopes, I used our new Radiating Circles Dies. I am so in love with the simple, subtle detail that the edging adds to my card! Lastly, I scattered the small, medium, and large hearts from the Vintage Valentines Stamps around like confetti. This is such a fun, simple design that is super easy to color and mass-produce, which is always a bonus!

I should note that one side of the paper is made slightly narrower than the other side. It is actually laying in landscape mode on the stamp set's acetate because that's the way it fit best in the space I had to work with, but you will want to stamp your greeting onto your paper when it is in the "portrait" orientation so that it is thin enough to slide through the opening created in the envelope by the Vintage Valentine Dies.

Card No.6: For my last card of the day, I paired the telephone and the typewriter from the Vintage Valentine Stamps with the birds from the Little Birdie Stamps, the bunny from the Tulip Path Background Stamps, and the party hats from the new Quill Cuties Stamps. I created a variation on the greeting from the Vintage Valentine Stamps by spelling out the word "rining" using our new Sydney Alphabet Dies, and stamping the rest of the greeting from the set onto a Speech Bubble Extras Die. Lastly, I added a simple white frame around my scene using the largest die from the Icing Rectangle Frame Dies.
