Truckloads of Love Card with Tina

Hello crafty friends, Tina here featuring the fun and versatile Truckloads of Love stamp and die set! I love that this set can be used for so many occasions throughout the whole year. For my card today, I am creating a sweet Fall scene with the adorable Squirrel Friends! They are busy loading their truck with lots of pumpkins.

Creating a full scene card can be intimidating for me and it helps if I build up my design using shape dies. For my background I cut a panel from white Neenah paper using the new Dotted Diamond cover die in landscape. It gives that extra subtle touch and doesn’t distract from the focal point! I used the outer die of the Frilly Frames Stripes to create the scalloped border.

Next, I cut the two largest of the Stitched Semi Circles dies from the same white card stock. I kept the largest one plain white and inked up the smaller one with Distress Oxides in Antique Linen, Scattered Straw and Saltwater Taffy. After splattering some water droplets for extra interest, I glued both semi circles directly to the white card panel. Then, I adhered this panel to a red card base.

I stamped and die cut all the cute squirrels, truck and pumpkins (Squirrel Friends, Truckloads of Love stamp) and colored them with my Copics. As always, I added some highlights with my white gel pen, it really makes a difference! To complete the scene, I cut and colored the tree and leaves from the Autumn Tree die. This tree is great to use in any of your Fall scene cards!

Finally, I arranged all my images and glued them in place, using foam tape were needed for dimension. The combined sentiment from the Truckloads of Love stamp was stamped onto a small white banner and added to the right upper corner. To embellish the card I sprinkled a few gems from the Chrystal Clear Jewels around the sentiment.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Garden Critters Cards with Kavya

Hi folks, Kavya here. I am back on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog with some fun inspiration using this quarter's release. I absolutely love Spring and Mendi did an awesome job of designing products that pair well with products that were previously released :) 

For my first card, I tried creating a garden scene filled with adorable critters. I started off by ink blending my background using blue and yellow dye ink. For the grass, I used some green ink blended green cardstock. 

I then stamped and colored a bunch of images from Garden Critters stamp, Pink Peonies, Squirrel Friends, Fall Friends and Spring Showers stamp set. 

For my second card, I created a scene depicting a warm autumn afternoon where I am spending my time staring out my bedroom window! I started off by ink bending the brick background using a generic stencil and added some diecut grass at the bottom. 

I then stamped and colored a bunch of images from Garden Critters stamp, A Bird's Life and Kiddie Pool stamp sets. I created the window using Wonderful Windows Dies and added some extra dimension to the windows using a copic markers. 

That's it and I am done! I loved how both these cards turned out and decided to skip the sentiments so that I can use them for any occasion.

Fall Scenes Cards with Vanessa and Tina

Hello to you! Vanessa here with a little card set using Fall Scenes.

I first created the card bases with the Mini Mat + Tag 1 dies and the background with the Stitched Rectangle dies. After I had inked the panels with Dried Marigold Distress Oxide ink, I stamped all my images onto white cardstock, colored them with Copic markers, die-cut the elements with the matching dies and adhered the pieces to my cards, popping up some images with foam tape. Finally, I stamped the sentiments onto the cards.

Hello crafty friends, it’s Tina and today I am creating a birthday card with the new Fall Scenes stamp and die set. Having the die to cut the scene makes it so easy to assemble your background! This card also consists of a lot of layers, generating depth and dimension.

First, I die cut an oval shape from white cardstock with the largest of the Scalloped Oval Mat 1 dies. To turn this oval into a frame I used another slightly smaller oval die from my stash. This second oval will become the background panel for my scene, I ink blended the sky part with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide. Next, I cut two grassy borders and used some Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawns Oxides for the coloring.

Then it was time to stamp and die cut all the images for my Autumn scene. There was a lot of mixing and matching between several sets! I used the large tree and fence from Fall Scenes, the sweet girl from Fall Kiddos, the squirrels and leaves from Squirrel Friends, some pumpkins from Fall Friends and Too Cute To Spook (also the cute little spider!), and finally the mushrooms from Woodsy Autumn.

I absolutely love going through my stamps and see which ones go well together, so helpful when you want to assemble a sweet scene. I used my trusty Copic markers for the coloring and added some white highlights to the images with a gel pen. For the sentiment, I stamped the ‘Happy Birthday’ from the Squirrel Friends set onto a small white banner.

Time to assemble this card! To make things a little easier, I die cut another large oval from white cardstock with the largest of the Scalloped Oval Mat 1 dies. I added thick foam tape to the oval frame and adhered it to the oval mat. Next, I added the inked oval, which fitted into the frame like a puzzle piece.

Now, I could start building the layers by gluing the tree and fence directly to the small oval, then I added two layers of grassy borders and finally all my images scattered over the scene. The sentiment banner and a few leaves, as embellishment, finished the layered frame.

All that was left was to create a background panel, for which I selected a vibrant orange gingham paper from the new Critter Country paper pad and added that to an A2 size card base. Finally, I glued the oval scene onto the card with some liquid glue.

Autumn Tree Die Focused Cards with Waleska and Marine

Hello Friends, Waleska here with you. I'm back today for more Sunny Studio Stamps inspiration from their most recent release! Today's card features the beautiful Autumn Tree dies.

For my card today I started with the focal point which is the Autumn Tree die, I die cut the tree with kraft cardstock, I added some shading with Oxide Ink Vintage photo. When you add a little of ink to the edges of your die cut images you create dimension and a better look. I die cut a bunch of leaves and color them with copic markers. I then adhere all the colorful leaves to the tree. I decided to use the cute fox from the Fall Friends Stamps at the bottom of my card and color them I used copic markers YR18 YR09 YR04.

I finally used a teal colored cardstock for the background on my card, the Fancy Frames Rectangle dies and the Critter Country paper to match the colors of the leaves.

Hello crafty friends, Marine here with you today! I'm thrilled to be back with this new edge to edge or infinity shaker card showcasing the gorgeous Autumn Tree die, and some Squirrel Friends that I turned into skunks.

I started off by stamping a few images using an alcohol marker friendly black ink: some apples and the bucket from Fall Friends, as well as three cute Squirrel Friends. I also cut some Autumn Tree pieces: the tree trunk out of kraft cardstock, and some apples & leaves out of the same paper I stamped my images on. And I colored all those elements using my alcohol markers, starting with the squirrels that I colored in black & white to turn them into skunks.

Next I created the foliage. I cut a Scalloped Circle Mat 1 out of a Critter Country pattern paper, and added some texture: mowed lawn & rustic wilderness distress inks on the edges, splatters of rustic wilderness distress ink mixed with water, and splatters of copic opaque white ink mixed with water.

I cut a 5,5" x 4,25" bristol panel, and used stencils to create the background of my cute little scene. A hill stencil along with mowed lawn & rustic wilderness distress inks to create a hill border at the bottom, and a cloud stencil along with tumbled glass & salty ocean distress inks to create a simple sky on the upper part. I also cut a grass border using a die from the Picket Fence Border die set and colored it using the same inks as the hill border.

Next I created the shaker, and I invite you to watch the process video (linked down below) to see exactly how it was done, it's always easier to understand with images ^^ And once my shaker panel was done, I assembled everything on top of it. I white heat embossed the "So happy we're friends" sentiment from Fall Friends on the grass border, and attached that border at the bottom of the panel, directly on the plastic, using double sided tape. And next I built the tree, with the foliage, the tree trunk, and the apples & leaves, and added the skunks at the bottom of the card.
