Brilliant Banner Die Focused Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends! Marine here! How exciting it is to be back on the blog with this autumn slimline card showcasing a lovely fox family and a whole bunch of images - you know my love for busy cards - as well as one of the brand new Brilliant Banners, so beautiful!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Brilliant Banner Die Focused Fall Card by Marine Simon (featuring Foxy Christmas, Happy Harvest)

As very often, I started off by stamping all my images on Transotype perfect coloring paper using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I used the coordinating dies to cut them all, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and Graph'it brush markers. For the card I shared last week, I went for a pink, orange, yellow and green color palette, well, this time I picked another favorite autumn color palette of mine: turquoise, green, yellow and orange.

Here is the detailed list of the stamp sets I used:

• Foxy Christmas - foxes
• Happy Harvest - sunflowers, mushroom, small leaves
• Harvest Mice - corn
• Fall Friends - apple, acorn
• Bountiful Autumn - berries
• Too Cute to Spook - pumpkins
• Spring Showers - small bow
• Seasonal Trees - trees, birds

Once all my images were colored, I cut an 8,5 x 3,5 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel, and used distress inks to create a simple landscape. I divided my panel using washi tape, and on the lower part I used shabby shutters + peeled paint + forest moss to create a grass border, and on the upper part I used tumbled glass + broken china along with a cloudy stencil from my stash to make the sky.

Next I attached all my images on my panel using 1mm foam squares for the images in the back, and 2mm foam squares for the images on the front, leaving enough space in the top middle section to put my Brilliant Banner 1. I cut the two largest pieces out of kraft cardstock, and the two small pieces out of brown cardstock. I white heat embossed my "Cozy Greetings" from Turkey Day on the piece with no fishtail, assembled the different elements to build the banner, and then attached it in the middle of my card. And as always I finished my card by adding highlights and details on the images and banner using a white gel pen.

And that's it! I hope that you like this adorable card. Thanks for stopping by, and see you next week!

Turkey Day Card with Gladys

Hello crafty friends! Gladys here and I'm so excited to be back on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog to share an autumn scene card with you today. I'm featuring a new stamp set called Turkey Day from the 2023 Fall & Winter release available now in the shop. Let's get started!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Turkey Day Fall Themed Card by Gladys Marcelino (featuring Comic Strip Speech Bubble Dies)

First, I stamped a lot of images from Turkey Day set using alcohol friendly ink. I colored them with Copic markers using traditional autumn colors. Then I cut them out using their coordinating dies.

Next, I used the Comic Strip Speech Bubble die to cut from an orange plaid pattern paper from the Critter Country 6x6 cardstock. I also cut it from 110lb white cardstock to adhere behind the pattern paper to add more stability. For the inner pieces I added some color for the sky using tumbled glass distress oxide inks. I also used a grass die to cut from green cardstock to ground the images.

To put the scenes together I arranged the images in each of the frame. Once I was happy, I mounted them using a combination of liquid glue and double-sided foam tape. I love the colors of the leaves in autumn so I added a scatter of leaves on the ground. To complete the card I stamped the sentiment from the set, used a fishtail banner die to cut it and mounted it onto the card panel.

Thank you so much for joining me. I hope you enjoyed my card and found some inspiration for your next project. If you would like to see more projects from me, please feel free to visit my Instagram crafty_mochi.

Dotted Diamond Background Die Focused Card with Isha

Hello everyone, Isha here. Today I have a CAS card featuring the Dotted Diamond Portrait die. This die doesn't cut fully but pierce holes which look so pretty.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Dotted Diamond Background Die Focused New Year's Card by Isha Gupta (featuring Season's Greetings, Woolen Mitten Dies)

I started by masking a white cardstock and sponged wilted violet, peacock feathers and salty ocean distress oxide inks. Spray with shimmer spritz in frost. This gives a lovely sheen to the card. Now use the Dotted Diamond Portrait die and run it through the die-cutting machine, we get beautiful pierced diamonds in the background. Adhere this piece to a grey card base.

Next I die-cut snowflakes using the Woolen Mitten dies, I die-cut 3 from white piece and sponged the same inks as my background. I die-cut thrice from a glitter card. Layer this slightly offset. Stamp the sentiment from the Season's Greetings stamp set using WOW! embossing ink, sprinkle WOW! metallic silver embossing powder and heat set. Die-cut the sentiment using the coordinating dies, I cut two more times and stacked them all together. Assemble everything to the card.

Thank you for dropping by and have a nice day!

Truckloads of Love Tags with Bobbi

Hello fellow crafters! It’s Bobbi here with a couple of festive, vintage-inspired tags for the holidays. I like to get an early start on my holiday tags. It’s nice to have handcrafted tags ready to go when it is “wrap” time. I am in love with this new Truckloads of Love stamp set and just had to make a couple of string tags using the cute vintage truck from the set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Truckload of Love Holiday Tags by Bobbi Lemanski (featuring Stitched Arch Dies, Woolen Mitten Dies)

The bases of these tags were cut from 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock and a darker green cardstock. I used the largest die from the Stitched Arch Dies set. I added a snow “base” by hand-cutting simple rolling hills from white cardstock and attaching the strips to the base of both tags. I stamped a holiday phrase on each one using two sentiments from the Truckloads of Love stamp set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Truckload of Love Holiday Tags by Bobbi Lemanski (featuring Stitched Arch Dies, Woolen Mitten Dies)

For the Christmas tag, I stamped, colored, and cut the truck and attached it to the tag base using foam tabs so it would stand out a bit. I used Copic Marker colors: BG75, BG45, BG32, YR27, YR24, 100, C7, C5 and C3 to color the vintage truck. I added a little critter from the same set and cut his face down to fit inside the window opening that I had also hand cut. I colored him using the same cool grays that I used for the truck’s tires and chrome accents. The gifts were colored using bright colors in reds, greens, purples and teal and attached to the truck bed using a foam tab. Once the truck was in place, I splattered the tag with white paint to look like a beautiful snowfall. Snowflakes from the Woolen Mitten Dies set were attached with glue. Sparkly gem stickers in a light bronze were added to the centers of the flakes and a string was attached at the top.

For my second tag, I attached a red truck to the tag base on a slant, as if it is climbing up the snow hill. I added wood rails to the truck bed along with the holiday tree and gifts in the bed. A cute critter is peeping over the tree. Do you see him? The images are all from the Truckloads of Love stamp set and coordinating dies. I sprinkled white ink over the truck and tag and attached some holly leaves from the Woolen Mitten Dies set at the top and gem stickers in red to look like berries over the leaves. I stamped a few stars in the sky and added some dots of B00 blue and R46 red to the tag for interest.

8th Birthday Blog Hop + Introducing Love & Light Stamps

Hello and welcome to the final day of our Holiday Sneak Peek Week!  Each morning this week I have been showcasing projects using our newest fall & winter collections which are now available in our store!!!

Today I have the pleasure of celebrating our company's 8th birthday with all of you and a number of talented designers who are joining us for an inspirational blog hop with prizes at every stop and a special sale (more details below). I wouldn't have made it to this amazing milestone without your sweet support so thank you. It truly means so much. ❤

Card No. 1: My first card of the day is showcasing our new Love & Light Stamps with a Hanukkah card. I started by piercing my navy cardstock background using our new Dotted Diamond Portrait Die, followed by a white stitched mat using our Stitched Rectangle Dies, and a navy scalloped mat using our Mini Mat & Tag 3 Dies. I then arranged a number of the elements from the Love and Light stamps to create a little tabletop scene, sprinkling some Gold Jewels around the stamped elements. Lastly, I stamped my greeting from the set using Versamark ink on that same navy blue cardstock and heat embossed it using Hero Arts Brass Embossing Powder. As you'll continue to see for my cards today it's become my new favorite embossing powder for the holidays!

Card No. 2: Next up is a clean & simple card using the Love & Light Stamps and Dotted Diamond Landscape dies. This time I started with a piece of white cardstock which I inked up with Salty Ocean Distress ink, adding Prize Ribbon and Chipped Sapphire to the outside edges before running it through my die-cutting machine. I stamped, colored, and die-cut the 9 menorah candles shaped like a heart using the coordinating Love & Light Dies. I made sure to keep the negative space around my die-cut candles so I could use it as a template to place on my card front to help me perfectly align my candles back into a heart since once they are die-cut they fall apart. After they were adhered with some liquid adhesive I was able to lift the template right off.

Next, I stamped the "love & light" greeting from the stamp set onto our Brilliant Banner 1 Dies which I had inked up using Scattered Straw and Fossilized Amber Distress Inks. Lastly, I took some metallic gold Stickles Glitter glue and added the dots to every other intersection to emphasize the beautiful diamond pattern. I also added some Glossy Accents to each of my candle flames. Then I carefully set it somewhere safe to dry for a couple hours so I wouldn't accidentally drag my arm through it or stack something on top which I'm so prone to doing.

Card No. 3:
Up next is a card showing off the Star of David banner from the Love & Light Stamps. I thought it might be fun to make them look like they are glowing in the night sky, almost light a string of specialty lights. To achieve the glowing look, I set the banners down where I wanted them and then took turns lifting them up to ink behind where each of the stars would land going back and forth. Some of them ended up being slightly off, but you get the general idea. Honestly, this background really looked like a hot mess for a while. It took me some time to carefully lay down some of the ink around the glowing portions using the PinkFresh Studio Blending Brushes to get into the tight spaces and do the best I could to prevent the yellow portions from turning green while still covering up the white background. It really didn't feel like it was fully coming together until I started to adhere the banners and add the snowflakes to the sky with a white gel pen. I finished my card by heat embossing the sentiment, adding a little heart from our Basic Mini Shape 2 Dies, and adding the dove with an olive branch from the Love & Light set.

Sunny Studio Glowing Star of David Banners Hanukkah Card (using Love & Light Stamps & Dies)

Card No. 4:
For this Hannukah card featuring the Love & Light Stamps, I started by inking up a white cardstock panel using Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, and Prize Ribbon Distress Inks. When it was completely dry (which I sped up with my heat gun) I then covered the panel with antistatic powder to prevent the embossing powder from sticking anywhere it shouldn't and then repeatedly stamped the Star of David using VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Ultra Fine Clear Embossing Powder to create my tone-on-tone background print. I then added the stitching to the outside edge by running it through my die-cutting machine using our Frilly Frames Quatrefoil Dies

This time for my 9 candles I lined up my die-cut template over a gold metallic cardstock heart cut out using our Stitched Heart 2 Dies. I was careful to make sure to design these so they would work together and I love the results! For my banner that comes with the set, I decided to cut it in half and string them in two crisscrossing sections. For my sentiment, I inked up some scratch paper with the same Salty Ocean and Prize Ribbon Distress Inks to help my die-cut fade into the background and then I once again heat embossed it using my favorite Hero Arts Brass Embossing Powder.

Sunny Studio Blue & Gold Hanukkah Candles Card (using Love & Light Stamps, Brilliant Banner 1 Dies and Dotted Diamond Landscape Die)

Card No. 5: I couldn't let this release pass without showcasing how well our new Dotted Diamond Portrait and Dotted Diamond Landscape Dies work with our popular Frilly Frames Lattice Dies. For this card, I decided I wanted to have my lattice background bleed off the edges so I ran it through my die-cutting machine a couple times locking it in place with previous cuts until the entire background was fully cut. I made sure to use a slightly larger piece of cardstock to do this so I would have some extra wiggle room to play with so I could perfectly center it over my Dotted Diamond background, creating the look of argyle which I think is so much fun!

In hindsight, I wish that after this step I had added a layer of vellum over the top just so my elements on top would pop more and not get lost with my background. Another solution would have been to do a tone-on-tone background or to use two cardstocks closer in color. Sadly by the time I realized this, my candles were already glued down tight and I didn't have it in me to start over. All the elements on top came from our Love & Light Stamps, including the "Happy Hanukkah" greeting which I heat embossed with White Detail Embossing Powder onto the same blue cardstock as my background.

Card No. 6:
I couldn't resist creating one more card with the Love & Light Stamps for a non-Hanukkah card. I was able to use the bottle and wine glass images to create Champagne for a New Year's card when paired with the greeting from our Holiday Greetings Stamps and Dies.

To create my background I started by taking a standard pencil eraser and dipping it into Gina K. Sweet Corn, Sandy Beach, and Kraft inks. Then when they were dry I dipped the eraser into Versamark ink and heat embossed those dots with Hero Arts Brass Embossing Powder as a final touch. I love the way they catch the light and tie in with the other elements I also heat embossed, including a scrap on my desk leftover from another card using the negative space from a scalloped border cut with our Slimline Pennant Dies. I was able to directly press the cardstock remnant into my VersaMark ink pad and sprinkle it with the same embossing powder to create a piece of metallic cardstock in the perfect shade to match the rest of my card. So pleased with how it turned out and how quickly it all came together!
