Designer's Choice: Garden Fairy Shaker Tags with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm thrilled to be back on the blog with this trio of bee themed shaker tags. I've had this idea of creating bee fairies since last year, so I'm glad I can finally share this project with you.

I started off by stamping my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and my Graph'it brush markers.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I picked:

• Garden Fairy for three fairies
• Garden Critters for the bees
• Just Bee-cause for the beehive
• Little Birdie for the branch
• Love Birds for a heart and flowers

Next I worked on the shaker tags. I built them following the same process, so here are the different steps:

1. Cut a Scalloped Tag Circle out of light brown woodgrain cardstock, and use a 2,5 inches circle die to cut a window out of it

2. Use the same Scalloped Tag Circle die to cut a whole tag out of acetate, and another one out of a Polka Dot Parade aqua pattern paper

3. Attach the acetate tag at the back of the woodgrain tag using liquid glue, and add foam strips on the acetate, all along the scalloped edges of the tag, following the rounded shape

4. Pour some shaker accessories on the acetate, I used 3mm clear sequins, peel the backing papers off the foam strips, and attach the polka dot aqua tag to close the shaker tag

I stamped "What's buzzin'?" from Garden Critters on each tag, directly on the acetate, using white stazon ink, attached my images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, added ribbon and twine, applied a little bit of white blizzard nuvo drops on the hearts and wings, and finished my tags with highlights and details using a white gel pen.

Tree Branch Die Focused Card with Tina

Hi crafty friends, Tina here and what better way to create a ‘love themed’ card than to add two adorable birds (Love Birds) to a branch (Tree Branch die) and add a bunch of beautiful flowers! I absolutely love this branch die because it has a lovely shape and is long enough to stretch across your card design. I discovered that it is a perfect fit for the Wonky Windows Dies. You get so much more use out of your stash when you mix and match old and new products!

The branch die inspired me to choose for a mini slimline card today. I created a simple white card base and used a die from my stash to cut the beautiful blue heart paper from Flirty Flowers. Next, I cut out the trio of Wonky Windows twice, once from the blue paper and once from a white sheet of card stock that I had embossed with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.

After gluing the heart design paper to my card base, I popped in the three wood grain windows which fitted like puzzle pieces. I stamped two adorable birdies from the Love Birds set and colored them with my Copics in bright blues and corals. This is such a fun color combo for Spring.

The big branch (Tree Branch die) was also cut from the wood grain paper to give that realistic texture. I needed lots of leaves from the same die set and also a bunch of flowers from the Spring Garden dies. All of them were colored with the same alcohol markers as the birds.

The sentiment was selected from the Love Birds set and stamped onto a small white strip with a red ink from my stash. The branch was glued across the trio of wonky windows as a base for the whole design. I mounted the birds and some flowers with foam tape. After adhering the sentiment strip I sprinkled a few coral hearts from the Red Heart Mix Drops.

Tree Branch Die Focused Card with Nicky

Hi, this is Nicky with you today on the Sunny Studio blog and I have a card to share that features the Tree Branch Dies along with other products.

As I so often do, I started at the back and worked forwards. To that end I die cut pink cardstock using the Bursting Hearts Die and popped out all of the hearts and layered the piece on top of a white A2 panel and then glued to my card base. I took another white A2 panel and die cut using the Comic Strip Everyday Die and I snipped out the divisions to leave a skinny frame.  This was backed with foam tape and applied to the heart background. I die cut a circle from the same pink cardstock and stamped the sentiment from Lovey Dovey, this was also applied with foam tape.

I die cut two tree branches from white cardstock using the Tree Branch Dies and coloured with Copic markers. I also stamped the birds and blooms from Love Birds using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa, and die cut using the coordinating dies. Here are the Copic colours used:

Branches - E44, E42, E31, E41
Leaves - B04, B12, G40, G20
Birds - B04, B12, B41, BG70, Y17, YR31
Blushes and Blooms - R85, R83, R81

A white gel pen was used to highlight a few points then the  branches and birds were applied with foam tape and leaves and blooms glued in their positions and with that ... the card was complete!

Tree Branch Die Focused Card with Isha

Hello everyone, Isha here with a fun and whimsical card featuring the Tree Branch die. As you know me, I love to experiment with my products, so instead of having the branch horizontal, I created a vertical whimsical tree for this enchanted forest scene.

I started by sponging salty ocean distress ink to a white layer, flick some of the same ink. Die-cut the grass using the Mini Grass Border dies, sponge with mowed lawn and  twisted citron inks, flick some peeled paint ink.

Stamp the images, color using copic markers and die-cut using the coordinating sentiments.

Bees, caterpillar - Garden Critters stamps and dies

Die-cut the branch and leaves using the Tree Branch die. Color using copic markers. Assemble the scene and adhere this panel to a white card base. I didn't use any sentiment on this card so that it can be personalized as per the need.

Love Birds & Tree Branch Die Focused Card with Cathy

Hey friends! Cathy here today sharing a sweet welcome baby card using the Love Birds Stamps and Tree Branch Die. Aren’t they just the most adorable couple?!

I started this A2 card by inking a pink cloud background on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2” piece of white cardstock. I die-cut 3 pieces of white cardstock using the Fluffy Clouds Border Dies and used them as a stencil with Spun Sugar Distress ink. I wanted a soft background of cherry blossoms in the distance so I die-cut vellum several times using the Tree Branch Die and a flower from the Spring Garden Dies. I then lightly inked the vellum branches with Antique Linen Distress ink and the flowers with Saltwater Taffy Distress ink.

Before adhering the vellum pieces, I stamped a sentiment from the Little Birdie Stamps in brown ink. I lightly dabbed Tombow Mono liquid adhesive on the back of the vellum pieces so the adhesive wouldn’t show through and trimmed any excess from the edges of the cardstock.

Next, I die-cut 2 branches and flowers from white cardstock and inked them with Frayed Burlap Distress ink and Saltwater Taffy Distress ink. I also added a little shading with Copics and white gel pen details on the flowers. I stamped all images on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb solar white cardstock in a brown ink, colored them with Copics and die-cut them using the coordinating dies. I adhered the branches, flowers and images to the card front using foam dimensional tape and trimmed the excess branches from the edges.

I used the following stamps and dies:
Love Birds Stamps/Dies
Little Birdie Stamps/Dies (bow, nest)
Clucky Chickens Stamps/Dies (egg) 

To finish, I stamped a sentiment for the inside of the card from the Inside Greetings Congrats Stamps and a baby bird from the Clucky Chickens Stamps on white cardstock and colored the baby with Copics. I then die-cut around the sentiment using a label die from the Sliding Window Dies.

Love Birds Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm thrilled to be back on the blog with this winter card featuring two Love Birds which is a set I like a lot because you can use it for all the seasons: color the birds in aqua, bright pink or yellow and you get tropical birds, color them in brown and they're perfect for Fall, and color them like I did on today's card, and you get beautiful winter birds. So many possibilities!

I started off by creating the background, and I wanted to get a snowy sky so I used lost shadow and hickory smoke oxide inks along with a cloud stencil from my stash to achieve that. And once my 5,5 x 4,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel was covered in clouds, I added some texture to make it more interesting: I mixed some hickory smoke oxide ink with water and used a small brush to make splatters all over the panel, and then I did the same with black soot oxide ink and with copic opaque white ink.

While my panel was drying, I stamped my images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and Graph'it brush markers. And along with two birds, the branch, flowers and leaves from Love Birds, I picked the birdhouse, nest and two birds from Little Birdie, and the snowflakes from Holiday Hugs.

Next I stuck all the images on my panel using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, leaving enough space for my sentiment, and once everything was attached, I stamped my "Sending winter hugs" greeting from Holiday Hugs using black Versafine ink. As always I finished my card by adding highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen. And that's it!
