Merry Mice Card with Tina

Hi there crafty friends, Tina here and I am super excited to show you my first Christmas card of the year! How fun is it to add lots of snow to your projects or make them sparkle and shine! You know I love cute critters and today is no exception, we are featuring the cute images from Merry Mice and it’s coordinating dies.

As usual, I started with a white card base and cut an extra panel with the outer die from Frilly Frames Chevron. Next, I created my focal point for the snowy scene and die cut a window with the second largest of the Stitched Arched dies. I set this piece aside for another project.

For extra dimension, I ran the chevron panel again through the die cutting machine with the Dapper Diamonds embossing folder. Fun fact about this method is that you can reverse the panel and get a totally different look, and that is what I did today.

To create the sky and snow banks I used extra pieces of white card stock slightly bigger that the arched frame. I finally decided to use my Distress Mica Stain in the color Snow Flurries which has been in my stash for a while now. The result is a beautiful shiny sky, but you can also use any Distress Oxide inks that you have and a shimmer spray. I glued the snow banks and sky piece to the back of the diamond panel and added the whole to my card base.

After selecting the images from the adorable Merry Mice set, I started coloring with my Copics. I went with yellow, pink and blue shades which go well with the background.  

Next, I mounted the images into the scene with foam tape. The sentiment was taken from the Inside Greetings Holiday set (they also work great on the outside of a card!) and stamped onto a Brilliant Banner 4 piece with a blue ink from my stash. Lastly, I added a few Champagne Clear Jewels for that extra shimmer and shine.

Beach Bus Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with a fun card to mark the official start of summer! If people build sandcastles at the beach, then what do mice build at the beach? They build "sandmice", of course! My card features the adorable images from the Beach Bus, Sealiously Sweet, Harvest Mice and Merry Mice sets. 

I stamped the images from the Beach Bus Stamps, Sealiously Sweet Stamps, Harvest Mice Stamps and Merry Mice Stamps sets onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Beach Bus Dies, Sealiously Sweet Dies, Harvest Mice Dies, and Merry Mice Dies to die cut them out. I also used the Tropical Trees Backdrop Dies to die cut a piece of Neenah cardstock for the scene. I colored them with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen.

For the background, I used the Slimline Nature Borders Dies to die cut a piece of clear acetate to make my own cloud stencil. I separated the pieces that I die cut with the Tropical Trees Backdrop Dies. I masked off the bottom half of the large panel. I ink blended a cloudy background with my homemade stencil and some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink. Then, I masked off the cloudy top half of the panel as well as the bottom portion of the panel so as to only expose about a 1/2" strip in the middle of the panel. I inked this strip of the panel with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink. Once the panel was dry, I colored in the sand with Copic markers. I adhered the frame of the backdrop panel to a piece of white cardstock (4.25" x 5.5"). I placed the remaining two pieces into the frame like a puzzle.

For the sentiment, I stamped the "Summer" sentiment from the Beach Bus stamps set with Versamark Watermark ink onto a piece of black cardstock and heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder. I used the coordinating Beach Bus Dies to die cut it out. Then I stamped the sub-sentiments "sending" and "vibes" directly onto the panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. 

I adhered the tree, bus and surfboard to the front of the inked panel with liquid adhesive. The sentiment, mice, sandmouse and ball were adhered onto the panel with foam tape for a bit of dimension and interest. Finally, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base (4.25" x 5.5").

Birthday Mouse Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with a fun birthday card featuring images from the Harvest Mice, Merry Mice and Birthday Mouse sets. I love how the mice from these sets play so well together. 

I stamped the images from the Harvest Mice Stamps, Merry Mice Stamps and Birthday Mice Stamps sets onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Harvest Mice Dies, Merry Mice Dies and Birthday Mouse Dies to die cut them out. I colored them with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen.

For the background, I took a piece of white cardstock (4.25" x 5.5") and die cut two windows into it using the third largest circle dies from the Stitched Circle Small Dies and Stitched Circle Large Dies. Using this panel as a guide, I ink blended Spun Sugar and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks onto a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock in the location of those windows. I used Copic markers (YG01/03) to add dots to the green inking for a bit of interest. I adhered the two panels to each other using foam tape.

For the sentiment, I stamped the words from the Harvest Mice stamps set with Versamark Watermark ink onto a piece of black cardstock and heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder. I used one of the sentiment strip dies from the Stitched Rectangle Dies to die cut it out. 

I adhered the sentiment and colored images to the front of the card with foam tape for additional dimension and interest. The card front was adhered to an A2 white card base (4.25" x 5.5"). I finished the card with a few Majestic Clear Confetti.

Inside Greetings Belated Birthday Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm happy to be back with this super colorful interactive birthday card featuring, as very often, a mix & match of images from different sets. Once again the mouse family is coming back to make you smile, and to create my Sliding Window interactive panel, I used multiple Surprise Party pattern papers to make sure everything coordinates nicely.

I started off by stamping my images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them using the coordinating dies, and then colored everything using my Ohuhu markers in browns for the mice and bright rainbow colored for the balloons and presents. Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Party Pets - small presents, party hats, balloons • Lazy Christmas - large presents • Harvest Mice + Merry Mice + Christmas Critters - mice.

I cut a 5 x 3,75 inches Surprise Party Banner panel using the largest Stitched Rectangle, cut the Sliding Window out of it, as well as the notch at the very top, and also cut a 5 x 3,25 inches Surprise Party Balloon panel.

I folded my Sliding Window Banner panel on the score lines, flipped it over, and added double sided tape to the slim bottom tab. I peeled the backing paper off this tab, flipped my Balloon panel over, and attached it at the back of my Sliding Window Banner panel, lining up the bottom edge of the Balloon panel with the edge of the slim tab. And I wanted to frame my sliding Banner panel nicely, so I cut a 5 x 3,75 inches Surprise Party Chevron panel, cut a Sliding Window out of it, as well as the notch at the top, I trimmed the center of that panel to get a frame, and stuck that frame to my Banner panel using liquid glue.

Next I cut a Surprise Party Sprinkles panel using the largest Stitched Rectangle, I flipped my Sliding Window panel over, and added foam strips along the bottom edge, on the long edges as well, but not along the top edge. I peeled all the backing papers off, and attached my sliding panel to the Sprinkles panel. Next I attached my panel to a 5,25 x 4 inches Surprise Party Polka dot panel, and finally to a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Surprise Party Pink Starry panel.

And to complete my interactive panel, I attached the remaining piece of Chevron paper at the top of the Balloon pull tab panel, cut a gold mirror eyelet using a Sliding Window die, stuck that eyelet, pierced a hole through it, added gold thread twine with a rainbow bead to be able to pull the interactive panel, and a turquoise bow for a lovely decorative accent.

Next I decorated the front of my Sliding Window panel. I cut two Surprise Party Green Polka Dot panels as wide as the interactive panel (3 inches), used a die from the Ribbon & Lace Border die set to create two scalloped borders, attached those borders using liquid glue, and then stuck the images to the scalloped borders using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. To stick the balloons up in the air, I attached each of them to a slim strip of acetate, and then attached each end of the acetate strips next to each other at the back of the upper scalloped green border using liquid glue.

I created two different greetings: one for the pull tab, and one for the inside of the card. For the one on the pull tab, I simply white heat embossed "Happy Birthday" from Party Pets on black cardstock, I cut it with the matching die, and attached it to the pull tab using 1mm foam squares. For the greeting on the inside, I white heat embossed my Inside Greetings Belated Birthday sentiment on aqua cardstock, I framed it using the third smallest Limitless Labels 1 die, and I stuck the label inside the card using 1mm foam squares again.

To finish my card, I added a few extra details: I cut a 3 x 1/4 inch slim stripe out of a Surprise Party Stripe paper, and attached it to the tab right below the mice using liquid glue. Finally I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen.
