Bells & Baubles Christmas Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some Christmas cards featuring our Bells & Baubles Stamps.

I started by creating the backgrounds in two different tone-on-tone color schemes for both of my cards today. For this card, I used Neenah Desert Storm Kraft cardstock, which I darkened around the edges using a light touch of Vintage Photo Distress ink. I then layered it with a second piece of kraft cardstock, which I had die-cut using our Stitched Rectangle Dies. I then stamped the fir tree branch from the Bells & Baubles Stamps in opposing corners using Gina K. Kraft Ink.

To embellish this particular card, I added three layered vintage glass ornament baubles in red, blue, and hot pink, stringing them with gold thread, which I taped to the back of each die-cut before adhering them with liquid adhesive. I then wrapped the threads tightly around the back of my Kraft card panel before taping them down. This set comes with a darling bow stamp image, which I had considered adding to the top of each ornament. Unfortunately, I only had one pre-stamped one in red, so I pulled out some 3/8" wide organza ribbon in each color to tie a bow and adhere with more liquid adhesive. For my "Happy Holidays" sentiment, I heat embossed the phrase from the Holiday Greetings Stamps and then added beneath it "from our family to yours" from the Inside Greetings Holidays Stamps onto a red pennant strip from the Notebook Photo Corners Dies.

Ornament Bauble Hanger: Hero Arts Caramel

For my second card, I started it the same way as my first card, with all the same elements for the background, but this time I turned my card for a horizontal landscape orientation, and went with an olive green tone-on-tone look using PinkFresh Studio Olive Ink. For my greeting, I heat-embossed a sentiment with silver embossing powder from our Season's Greetings Stamps, accentuating the smaller "Season's" word by putting it onto a shortened red pennant strip from the Notebook Photo Corners Dies. I embellished my card with two layered silver bells, topped with a red bow, from the Bells & Baubles Stamps and some green sprigs from the same Season's Greetings Stamps and the coordinating Season's Greetings Dies (which are currently only $1 in our online shop).

Here's a better photo taken at an angle to show how beautifully the silver embossing powder used for the greeting catches the light and plays off the "Silver Bells" theme.

Snowman Kisses Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with a winter themed boxcard featuring these absolutely adorable snowmen from the Snowman Kisses set. Do you like boxcards? Have you ever made a boxcard? I absolutely LOVE boxcards! Today, I'm going to show you how to make one without any special boxcard dies. So, let's get started.

I stamped the snowmen from the Snowman Kisses Stamp set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Snowman Kisses Dies to die cut them out. I colored the images with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen.

To create the boxcard, I used the largest die from the Stitched Arch Dies to die cut the back panel out of light blue cardstock. I used the second largest arch die from the same die set to die cut a piece of pattern paper from the All is Bright Paper pack. I adhered the two arches together.

For the base of the boxcard, I used a paper trimmer to create a 1.25" x 9.5" strip out of the same light blue cardstock. I used a score board to score the light blue strip at the 0.5", 2", 5" and 6.5" marks. I folded on the score lines and used liquid glue to close and secure the box with the 0.5" end tab. I adhered the arch back panel to the base of the boxcard.

For the shelves of the boxcard, I took two strips of white cardstock (4" x 2") and used the Slimline Nature Borders Dies to die cut the top edge of the slopes. I used a score board to score at the 0.5" marks on each side of the shelves to create end tabs. Scissors were used to trim away the top portion of the end tabs, leaving only the bottom 1" to adhere to the sides of the box. I adhered the shelves to the boxcard.

For the sentiment, the banner die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies was used to die cut a piece of white cardstock. I stamped the super sweet "warm wishes & snowman kisses" sentiment from the Snowman Kisses Stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the banner. I adhered the banner to the front of the boxcard. 

I decorated the boxcard with the snowmen as well as some snowflakes die cut out of white cardstock using the dies from the Woolen Mitten Dies and Basic Mini Shapes Dies 2 sets. HINT: For the floating appearance, I like to use little clear acetate strips to secure objects like the snowflakes to the boxcard.

My boxcard measures 3" W x 4.25" H and flattens to 4.5" W x 4.25" H. The flattened boxcard fits nicely in a standard A2 sized envelope (for 4.25" x 5.5" cards) for mailing.

Classy Christmas Poinsettia & Holly Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some Christmas cards featuring our Classy Christmas Stamps.

First, I made a card focusing on the holly leaves and berry images from the Classy Christmas Stamps. I arranged the holly groupings around a navy Scalloped Oval Mat 1 Die, which I then mounted onto a white Stitched Oval 2 Die. For my background, I embossed a piece of red cardstock using the Quilted Hearts Embossing Folder and inked the edges with Candied Apple and Fired Brick Distress Ink. I completed my card by heat-embossing the "Have a holly jolly Christmas" greeting from the Deck The Halls Stamps to tie my theme together.

For my second card, I die-cut a navy scalloped mat using the Frilly Frames Eyelet Lace Dies and backed the lace openings with black cardstock before mounting it onto a green A2-sized panel. I then embellished my card with the poinsettias, leaves, pinecones, and berries from the Classy Christmas Stamps, which I had colored with Copic Markers. Lastly, I white heat-embossed my "Merry Christmas" phrase from the Holiday Greetings Stamps onto a piece of navy cardstock and die-cut it using the coordinating Holiday Greetings Dies to help it blend into my background.

Holiday Style Jingle Bell Christmas Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some cute and colorful holiday cards using our Holiday Style Stamps.

It's been years since I've had the chance to revisit our Holiday Style Stamps, and I fell in love with them all over again. For my first card, I played with the classic glass ball ornament, consisting of only two simple layers, which I inked up in a pastel color palette. It's always fun mixing in non-traditional Christmas colors, and I turned to patterned papers from the Spring Sunburst Paper and Dots & Stripes Pastels Paper packs to tie in with the ornaments. I cut the "ribbon" border using the Ribbon & Lace Border Dies and the scalloped edge with the Slimline Pennant Dies. Lastly, I heat embossed my greeting using a sentiment from the Holiday Style set.

For my next card set, I used the fabulous bell and bow images from the Holiday Style Stamps. I went clean and simple, turning to the two tree bough images from the Classy Christmas Stamps to repeatedly stamp and heat-emboss along the top and bottom of my two card fronts. I used my MISTI tool to stamp them assembly line style by rotating the panels 180 degrees and stamping again while the images were set up. I strung Silver Embroidery thread by DMC through the openings I had punched with a 1/8" hole punch and taped to the back of the bells and card panels before adhering them to my card base. I then stamped the greeting from the Holiday Style Stamps using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and sprinkled them with Clear Embossing Powder to make them shine.

For my last card using the Holiday Style Stamps, I thought it would be fun to experiment with stamping gold jingle bells. After trying several different ink combinations, I found a mix I really like using inks from three different companies (linked below). I created a festive arrangement by stacking several bells in a basket using our Layered Basket Stamps, filling in around the basket with the tree bough image from the Holiday Style set. I had this leftover red gingham piece from another window card that I decided to hold onto, and it added just the right splash of red and holiday feel I was looking for. It was created using the Buffalo Plaid Diagonal Dies, inked up with the coordinating Diagonal & Straight Stripes Stencils, and trimmed down with a stitched edge using the Rounded Rectangle Mat Dies. I completed my card by heat embossing a custom-made sentiment with our new Build-a-Greeting Holidays Stamps, which I heat embossed onto the red pennant strip cut using the Notebook Photo Corner Dies.
