School Time Teacher Appreciation Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi, popping in today to share some cards for teachers showcasing our School Time Stamps.

Sunny Studio You Rule Ruler, Pencil, Crayon & Apple Teacher Appreciation Thank You Cards using School Time Clear Craft Stamps

For my first card of the day using the School Time Stamps, I created a colorful rainbow card using the crayon image from the set. I share a template to download below that helped me line them up to form a perfect circle reminiscent of a sunburst. When I was done positioning them on my cardstock, I used some 3M Micropore tape to hold a 4.5" Stitched Square Die in place while running the entire piece through my die-cutting machine. I matted the piece with a 5" square piece of black cardstock. I then stamped the "Thank You Teacher" sentiment from the set in the center and added a small die-cut heart from the Basic Mini Shape 2 Dies that I colored hot pink to match two of the crayons.

Here's a closer look at the radiating crayons. I hadn't revisited these images in a long time, and I had so much fun coloring them! It felt like a full circle moment (no pun intended) knowing this was the second stamp set I ever designed as a brand new company owner, still learning how to use the design software, and here I am now playing with them again ten years later. I love how the black stripe on the labels of the crayons forms a visual circle when all lined up!

To create the perfectly symmetrical spokes for my circle, I have designed a free PDF for you to download and print directly onto cardstock. This template could be used for all sorts of images. Also, because I wanted to be able to hide the lines after I had my crayons in place, I only made the portion that would be hidden under the crayons print out so you can use a pencil with a ruler to attach the spokes with light lines that are easy to erase after your images are adhered.

I also used the We R Memory Keepers Nesting Circle Dies to trace around the outside edge so I would have a visual line to align the bottom portion of each crayon. If you don't have something large enough to trace around, you could also achieve a similar result by tracing a smaller circle in the middle to line up with the crayon tips. However, I must confess these dies are the most-used dies in my craft room. If you don't own a set already, I highly recommend them. I'm so thrilled We R Memory Keepers decided to bring them back out of retirement! The set includes 21 dies that create circles from .5" To 5.5" in size. It's tough to find other sets that go that large, and those larger die sizes are always so helpful!

For my second card, I inked up four strips of white cardsock with bright primary colored distress inks and then stamped the ruler from the School Time Stamps. I trimmed each ruler down using my paper trimmer and then used a Memento Black Tuxedo Marker to ink the edges to keep them looking crisp black. I then used the rulers to frame the front of my 4.5" wide x 5.5" high card base. I made the card a bit wider than a typical A2-sized card because I felt the extra .25" width better framed my focal point images, which included the notebook paper, two pencils, and a shiny red apple. I used the punny "You Rule Teacher" greeting from the set to stamp directly onto the lines of the notebook paper using red ink. Lastly, I used my We R Memory Keeper Crop A Dile to punch three 1/8" circles for the holes of my notebook paper.

It was challenging to capture the beautiful texture in the background of my card for my first photo. I added a tone-on-tone black embossed polka-dot by repeating the polka-dot border from our Background Basics 2 Stamps using Versamark Clear Ink with Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder.

Tiny Dancers Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm happy to be back with a Black Swan ballet themed card featuring the Tiny Dancers. This ballet is my all-time favorite, I like the story and the music, so I definitely had to turn my dancers into swans.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tiny Dancers Card by Marine Simon (featuring Chloe Alphabet Dies, Fancy Frame Square Dies, Stitched Square Dies)

I started off by stamping five Tiny Dancers on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers and my Graph'it brush, using light greys for the white swans and dark greys for the black swan. And when the coloring was done, I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen.

Next I cut a square panel out of a Classic Sunburst black paper using the largest Stitched Square die, and I added lots of textures to my piece of paper. I mixed copic opaque white ink with water and used a slim brush to add splatters all over the panel to bring brightness. I did the same with black soot distress ink for contrast, and finally added splatters of brushed pewter mica spray for sparkles.

Once my panel was dry, I cut a scalloped frame out of white shimmer cardstock using the largest Fancy Frames Square die, and attached that frame to my panel using 1mm foam squares.

For my greeting, I first heat embossed "When you stumble, make it part of the" from Tiny Dancers in white, on the upper part of my panel. Next I cut the word "Dance" twice using the Chloe Alphabet die set, out of black glittery cardstock and out of white cardstock. I glued each black shiny letter to its matching white letter using liquid glue, shifting them a little bit to create a white border, and then I attached the letters using 1mm foam squares.

I stuck my Tiny Dancers using 1mm foam squares for the ones in the back and 2mm foam squares for the ones on the front, glued a scattering of small silver star confetti, and finally attached my panel to a white card base.

And that's it! I really enjoyed making this card, and I hope that this simple design has inspired you to maybe recreate it or use a totally different color palette to match the tastes and personality of your card's recipient. Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next time!

Fast Food Fun Cards with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm super happy to be back with this set of four mini cards showcasing the extra cute Fast Food Fun stamp set. How cool it was to color all those food themed images!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fast Food Fun Mini Cards by Marine Simon (featuring Fancy Frame Dies, Scalloped Circle Mat Dies, Stitched Square Dies)

And speaking of which, I started off by stamping my Fast Food Fun images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. As always I used the matching dies to cut them all, and used my Ohuhu markers and Graph'it brush markers to color everything. And once all the images were done, I added highlights and details using a white gel pen.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fast Food Fun Mini Cards by Marine Simon (featuring Fancy Frame Dies, Scalloped Circle Mat Dies, Stitched Square Dies)

I created four 3,5 x 3,5 inches white card bases, and then cut all the pieces of paper to make four identical backgrounds using the third largest Stitched Square die. The grey & white paper is from the Subtle Grey Tones paper pack and the red gingham paper is from the Joyful Holiday paper pack. I first attached each grey & white panel to a card base using liquid glue, and trimmed each red gingham panel and stuck a piece to each card using liquid glue again. Next I cut four white scalloped frames using the second largest Fancy Frame Square die, and stuck a frame to each card using 1mm foam squares.

I cut four scalloped circle panels out of vellum using the second largest Scalloped Circle Mat 1 die, stamped a greeting from Fast Food Fun on each panel using black stazon ink (this ink dries fast and doesn't smear on vellum) and attached my images below each sentiment using 2mm foam squares.

Next I stuck each scalloped vellum circle to a card base using 2mm foam square again, glued some red hearts from the Red & Pink Heart Confetti mix, and added more white details using my white gel pen.

And that's it! I usually use a million images from many sets to create my projects, but I had a blast making those four mini cards quick and easy using only one stamp set, and I hope that you like them. Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next week!

Big Panda Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with a fun summery card to share with you featuring the Big Panda and Two Scoops sets.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Big Panda Summer Themed Card by Hanh Nguyen (featuring Two Scoops, Stitched Square Dies, Scalloped Sqaure Dies, Chloe Alphabet Dies)

I stamped the images from the Big Panda stamp set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Big Panda Dies to diecut them out. I colored them with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen.

COPIC COLORS:
Bears: C3/5/7, E40/41/81, R20
Hat: B000/00 BG45, RV00/02/13, YG01/03, C1
Sunglasses: B00 BG45, T7

To create the ice cream, I used the fun Two Scoops stamp set. This cool set offers several different ice cream, cone and topping options. The stamps allow you to layer the ink colors to create a more realistic and dimensional look. I used Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Raspberry, Scattered Straw, Vintage Photo and Ground Espresso Distress Oxide inks to create my flavors. Once the inks are dried, the Two Scoops Dies can be used to die cut them out. I love that these cones tucked perfectly into the arm cutouts of the Big Panda.

For the background, I die cut another piece of Neenah white cardstock with the largest die from the Stitched Square Dies. I lightly inked the center with some Spun Sugar and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide inks to add a bit of color to the background. Next, I diecut of piece of teal cardstock with the largest die from the Scalloped Square 1 Large Dies set. I adhered the panels to each other and then onto the front of a white square cardbase (5.25" x 5.25").

For the sentiment, I partially stamped the "let's" part of the sentiment from the Let's Chill Stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a piece of white cardstock. (Note: The Let's Chill set won't officially go on sale until Sunny Studio's 10th Birthday in late August) I trimmed it out with a paper trimmer. Next, I used the Chloe Alphabet Dies to die cut the necessary letters twice out of black cardstock. I layered and adhered the letters to each other and then onto the card front with liquid adhesive. A white gel pen was used to add some highlights to the letters. Finally, I adhered the bears to the card front with some foam tape for a bit of dimension and interest.

I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and visit today. I hope you liked my card and it inspires you to make and send out some happy snail mail. For more info and ideas, be sure to visit the Sunny Studio Stamps Shop. Please also visit my INSTAGRAM feed for more inspirations.
