Sydney Alphabet Die Focused Card with Janneke

Hello crafty friends, Janneke here. Today I’m sharing this tropical Birthday card featuring the new Sydney Alphabet dies.

Normally, I start by ink blending the background, but this time I began with the dies and stamps. I wasn’t sure yet where everything would go on the card, so I didn’t know exactly how far the beach and sea should extend.

First, I die-cut the birthday girl’s name using the new Sydney Alphabet dies. I die-cut the letters twice: once from coral-colored paper and once from gray paper. I layered the gray letters behind the coral ones to create a soft shadow effect.

I decided to let the Fabulous Flamingos be the party guests and dressed up the card with lots of greenery: the palm trees from the Tropical Scenes set and the leaves from the Fabulous Flamingos stamp set. The parrots from the Tiki Time stamp set joined in as extra tropical guests.

Once I had a rough idea of where everything would be placed on the card, I ink blended the sea and the beach onto the background. After that I colored the stamps with Ohuhu markers.

To make the card feel even more festive, I added some fun party elements like the party hats, cupcake, and party horn from the Panda Party set. And of course, the flamingos needed cocktails to toast. Finally, I glued the name and colored images onto the background and added some highlights with a white gel pen.

Speech Bubbles Extras Die Focused Card with Marieke

Hello all, Marieke here. I'm back again with my weekly post for Sunny Studio Stamps. Today I hope to inspire you with a card that I made using the Speech Bubble Extras Dies.

Cut a A2 size topfold basecard, cut a pink rectangle 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and glued that to the front of the card. Cut a white rectangle and a 3 3/4 x 5 inch watercolor rectangle. Inked up the watercolor panel using Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistashio, Dried Marigold, Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry.

Die cut the Sliding Window Dies out of it. Cut a slightly smaller water color panel and inked it up using the same colors as I used for the other panel. Glued the smaller panel behind the larger panel leaving the moving part free of glue. Added the white and mechanisme onto the card. 

Stamped the images from the Fabulous Flamingos and Tropical Scenes stamps. Colored them up using my Copic marker and cut them by hand and with the Tropical Scenes Dies.

Used Copic Colors:
Flamingo - RV13, RV42, R01, R00 / C5,C3,C1,0 / Y13, Y11
Green - YG67, YG63, YG03, YG01
Brown - E47, E44, E43, E42
Dark Green - G09, G07, G05
Pink - R85, R83, R81

Cut a strip of acetate, in the middle of the moving mechanisme i cut a slight cut and adhered the strip of acetate on the back of the mechanisme. Stamped the sentiment out of the Inside Greetings Friends Stamps using a pink ink and cut it using the Speech Bubbles Extras Dies. Adhered the speech bubble onto the top of the acetate strip.

Stamped the sentiments out of the Fabulous Flamingos Stamp on some pink cardstock and heat set them using a white embossing powder, cut one to a small banner and the other one I cut using my Scissors. Adhered these sentiments on the inside of the mechanisme so it would be the stopper.

Fabulous Flamingos Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with a flamazing birthday card to share with you featuring the beautiful flamingos from the Fabulous Flamingos set.

I stamped the flamingos and leaves from the Fabulous Flamingos Stamp, the balloon and hat from the Party Pets Stamp and present from the Foxy Friends Stamp sets onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the coordinating Fabulous Flamingos Dies, Party Pets Dies and Foxy Friends Dies to die cut them out. I colored them with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen. 

COPIC COLORS:
Flamingos: RV000/00/02/04/06, C1, Y13/15
Green: YG00/01/03/25
Teal: BG10/53/45

For the background, I took another piece of Neenah white cardstock (4.25" x 5.5") and die cut a window using the second largest die from the Stitched Semi-Circle Dies. I lightly ink blended the semi-circle with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink. I used the panel with the window as a guide to adhere the semi-circle to the front of a white A2 card base (4.25" x 5.5"). 

For the sentiment, I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Party Pets Stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a piece of white cardstock. I used the Party Pets Dies to die cut it out. The sub-sentiment was a combo of the "to one" and "friend" from the Foxy Friends Stamp set with the "flamazing" from the Fabulous Flamingos Stamp set stamped directly onto the panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I added foam tape to the back of the panel with the window and adhered it to the front of the card base as well. The Happy Birthday sentiment and colored images were adhered with a combo of liquid adhesive and foam tape. I finished the card with a few sequins from the Majestic Clear Confetti.

Silly Sloths & Fabulous Flamingos Tropical Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some tropical critter cards for Summer!

Card No. 1: I paired the Silly Sloths Stamps with the hanging vine border from our Tropical Scenes Stamps for my first card. For my subtle backdrop, I inked up a white cardstock panel with Wilted Violet distress ink before stamping the leafy vine from our Elegant Leaves Stamps repeatedly around the border using PinkFresh Studio Soft Lilac Ink and VersaFine Lilac Bloom Ink. I then trimmed down the piece down using our Stitched Rectangle Dies and mounted it onto a purple print from our Classic Gingham Paper pack. Lastly, I spelled out my oversized sentiment "hang in there" using our Chloe Alphabet Dies and Hayley Lowercase Alphabet Dies cut from white cardstock.

Card No. 2: For my second card today, I stamped and colored the leaves and flamingo from our Fabulous Flamingos Stamps. I actually colored these more than five years ago, and these were the only images I had left that didn't make it onto an earlier card. I was determined to find a design to use all the images I had left, so I felt delighted with how this card turned out, given the limited supplies and mini challenge I had given myself. Even the circle frame, created by nesting our Stitched Circle Small Dies, was something I had cut out for a previous card and discarded to save for later. As a Northwest gal, I love it when I can recycle like that! 

I inked behind my circle using Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon distress inks and then splattered the surface with water using an old toothbrush. Our Brilliant Banner 2 Dies were inked up with a pink ombre to match my flamingo using Saltwater Taffy and Kitsch Flamingo distress inks and then stamped with a greeting from the stamp set, which completed my card.
