Doggone Birthday Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm happy to be back on the blog with this interactive birthday card featuring some cute pups having fun partying, and as very often I started off by stamping all the images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the matching dies and colored everything using my alcohol markers in browns and neutrals for the dogs and a yellow + green + aqua + turquoise color palette for the balloons, banners, and presents.

As always, here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: Doggone Birthday for the dog in the center, Party Pets for the other dogs, party hats, small presents, flying balloons, Heart Bouquet for the balloons on both sides, and Balloon Rides for the banners.

I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and next worked on my interactive panel, starting by cutting a large Stitched Rectangle panel out of a Rainbow Bright starry blue paper. I mixed broken china oxide ink with water, used a slim brush to add splatters to my panel, and did the same with copic opaque white ink.

I created the whole interactive feature using a Summer Splash green paper, and you can check this Christmas Card blog post which includes a process video showing how to build such an interactive card.

Once my interactive panel was done, I attached the images using liquid glue on the interactive tab for the flying dog and balloons, as well as 1 mm and 2 mm foam squares for the balloons, banners, presents, and other dogs. I love those little guys so much; they're just so stinking cute with their happy faces!

I purposely left a space right between the balloons for my sentiment, I white embossed "Have a doggone birthday" from Doggone Birthday on yellow cardstock and used a Rounded Rectangle Mat die to turn it into a small banner that I attached to my panel using liquid glue. I attached my panel to a 5.5 x 4.25 inches white panel using 1mm foam tape, and then to a white card base to finish my card.

Doggone Birthday Card with Tina

Hi crafty friends, Tina here and today’s card features the very sweat Doggone Birthday stamp and die set. It’s a smaller set yet has all the elements you need to create festive projects!

I really wanted to show off this cute little party dog by creating several layers, so after I prepared my white card base, I browsed through my paper stash to find a fun combo. To start, I die cut a panel from a bright green striped paper (Dots & Stripes Jewel Tones) with the outer die from Frilly Frames Chevron.

For extra layering I used two sizes of the Limitless Labels 1 dies, cutting the largest from a grey sheet (Subtle Grey Tones) and the smaller from white card stock. To give this latter piece added interest I ran it through my die cutting machine with the Moroccan Circles embossing folder. Both the grey paper as the embossing brings so much extra detail to this simple card design!

After gluing all these panels to the white card base, I stamped and die cut my images. As I mentioned before, this set can be matched with lots of other sets but also works great on its own as I show in this project. I love the little party hat and the bones with bows! So cute!
All the coloring was done with my Copic markers.

My sentiment consists of two parts. First portion is a stamped ‘Happy Birthday’ (Punny Fruit Greetings). I couldn’t stamp onto the embossed panel, so I cut another smaller piece with the Limitless Labels 1 dies from white card stock and stamped onto this paper in Versafine Onyx Black ink. Next, I glued this to the bottom part of the embossed panel.

I spelled the word ‘YAY’ in two colors with letters of the Balloon Alphabet stamp and die set. After securing some green thread to the back of the letters, I mounted them to the white panel with foam tape. I made sure to hold the ends of the thread in place with a piece of tape, adhering them to the card base where I could hide them by putting the adorable doggie in place. Lastly, I added the two bones as presents and a few Iridescent Jewels.

Doggone Birthday Card with Amanda

Hey hey there, crafty friends! It’s Amanda here with you on this lovely day! What’s your feelings on slimline cards?! I honestly love them, but don’t make them too often! But, when you have all these adorable Doggone Birthday party pets, a slimline card is perfect!

To create this card, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 3.5”x8.5". I blended Catherine Pooler Mint ink across the entire panel. I then stamped the dots from the Background Basics 2 Stamps with In The Park ink in the upper right and bottom left corners of the panel. I did the same thing with the diagonal grid stamp, but in the upper left and lower right corners.

I then trimmed another piece of white cardstock to 3.25”x8.25”. On this piece, I masked off the bottom 3/4” with masking tape and then ink blended Cotton Candy across the entire panel. I glued the panels together.

Then, I started stamping the Party Pets and Doggone Birthday party animals. I colored them in with Copic markers and then die cut them out with their coordinating dies.

I put 3D foam squares behind all the images and sentiment and adhered them to the card. I added a little shadow for each little pet with an N1 and N2 Copic marker. I also glued a few Onyx Black Jewels on the card for a finishing touch.

And that’s the finished card! I had so much fun coloring these little guys in!  So many adorable pets! I hope you find some time to get crafty today!

Doggone Birthday Card with Leanne

Hello everyone! Leanne here. Today's card has a birthday theme with a cute image from the Doggone Birthday stamp set. The card also features a more masculine color palette with shades of yellow, brown, and blue which is a departure from my usual pink heavy card designs. It's refreshing to change it up once in awhile!

The Sunny Studio supplies needed to recreate this card are the Doggone Birthday stamp set & it's coordinating dies plus the Perfect Gift Boxes stand alone die set. 

Here are the Copics I used to color the images: brown - E31, E33, E35; teal - BG70, BG02, BG07; yellow - Y21; shading on bone - W1, W3; rosy cheeks - RV23

I started with a kraft card base measuring 6 inches by 3.5 inches. I added a white panel trimmed a bit smaller than the card base. I used a paper punch to angle the corners of this panel.  

When I had my stamped images colored and die cut and the gifts assembled, I played around with the arrangement while keeping in mind where to stamp the greeting. This is usually how most of my cards get created. I have a general idea of the design prior to starting, then after all my design elements are ready, I play around with composition before adhering everything in place permanently. 

It's all part of my creative process!

Doggone Birthday Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today. I have a fun birthday card to share with you featuring the adorable new Doggone Birthday and Party Pets sets from the Spring Release. I love that these sets play so well together. 

I stamped the images from the new Doggone Birthday stamps and Party Pets stamps set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Doggone Birthday Dies and Party Pets Dies to diecut them out. I colored them with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen.

Dog 2: E41/42/43/44/47, W00/1/3
Bone: E41/81
Red: R24/29/39
Blue: B000/00/02
Yellow: Y13/15

The largest and third largest die from the Rounded Rectangle Mat Dies were used to create the panels out of light blue and white cardstock.

For the background, I repeatedly stamped several of the small images from the Doggone Birthday Stamps and Party Pets Stamps sets with Tumbled Glass DIstress Oxide ink onto the light blue panel to create my own patterned paper.

For the sentiment, I stamped the sentiment from the Doggone Birthday stamps set directly onto the white panel with red and black ink. 

I adhered a piece of craft foam to the backside of the white panel before adhering the two panels together. I adhered the colored images onto the panel with foam tape for a bit of dimension. I added some dots with a Copic marker (B000) to create a bit of interest. Finally, the panels were adhered to a white A2 cardbase (4.25" x 5.5").

Doggone Birthday Card with Nicky

Hello friends, this is Nicky back with you today on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog and I am sharing a birthday card that I made featuring the new Doggone Birthday mini stamp set from the Spring release. Read on for all the details.

I kicked things off with an A2 panel of white cardstock which I ink blended with Distress Oxide Inks to form a pastel focus in the top right and lower left corners. I then used the Dapper Diamonds Embossing Folder and ran it through my Big Shot to create the interesting background design. I took a second panel of white cardstock and die cut the Fancy Frames Rectangle Die. I glued the smaller frame directly to the background panel and the larger (outer) frame was applied with foam tape. From the negative inner cut I trimmed a piece of 'ground' for my characters to sit on. I ink blended it and glued in place.

I stamped the images from Doggone Birthday and I took the bow tie wearing pup from Happy Howl-o-Ween and stamped him. I coloured, highlighted and die cut the images with the Doggone Birthday dies and Happy Howl-O-Ween dies. Here are the Copic colours used:

Purple - V05, V01, RV00
Yellow - Y21, Y00, Y000
Green - YG41, G40, G20
Dog (left) - E35, E33, W6, W4
Dog (right) - w4, W2, W0
Bones - E43, E41

The die cut images were applied to the scene. I added a little shadow under the pups and a polka dot design to the large gift. I stamped the sentiment and applied the strips with foam tape and then I glittered my little heart out by adding sparkle to all of the ribbons. A few embellishments completed the scene.
