Penguin Party Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with a fun birthday card to celebrate Sunny Studio Stamps' 10th Birthday. Sunny Studio has so many adorable critters but one of my favorites has always been the super cute penguins. My card today features penguins from the Passionate Penguins and Penguin Party sets. These two sets mix and match beautifully with one another. 

I stamped the penguin images from the Passionate Penguins Stamps and Penguin Party Stamps, the balloon and party hat images from Party Pets Stamps, the little gift from the Foxy Friends Stamps and the banner and cupcake from the Panda Party Stamps sets onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the coordinating Passionate Penguins Dies, Penguin Party Dies, Party Pets Dies, Foxy Friends Dies and Panda Party Dies to die cut them out. I colored them with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen.

For the background, I took a piece of white cardstock (4.25" x 5.5") and die cut three windows into it using circle the second and fourth largest dies from the Stitched Circle Small Dies. Using this panel as a guide, I ink blended Spun Sugar and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks onto a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock in the location of those windows. 

For the sentiment, I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Party Pets Stamps set with Versamark Watermark ink onto a piece of black cardstock and heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder. I used the coordinating Party Pets Dies to die cut it out. 

I adhered the two panels to each other using foam tape. I adhered the sentiment and colored images to the front of the card with foam tape for additional dimension and interest. The card front was adhered to an A2 white card base (4.25" x 5.5"). I finished the card with a few Majestic Clear Confetti.

Beach Buddies & Beach Babies Rainbow Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi, popping in to share some rainbow-striped summer cards featuring our Beach Buddies Stamps. For both cards, I used Daniel Smith Watercolors to paint semi-blended rainbow stripes onto watercolor paper to create handmade backgrounds. I didn't add too much water because I wanted to have my colors remain really vibrant.

For my first card's background, I die-cut my rainbow watercolored panel using our Frilly Frames Hexagon Dies. I then formed two small scenes using the images from our Beach Buddies Stamps, which I backed each grouping with a white die-cut circle from our Stitched Circle Small Dies. I grounded each scene with a shortened black pennant strip from our Notebook Photo Corners Dies and heat-embossed them using the "Hello Sunshine" and "Happy Summer" greetings from our Beach Babies Stamps.

For my second card, I once again used one of the rainbow-striped backgrounds I painted and trimmed down the panel using our Stitched Rectangle Dies. This time, I lined up three circles across my landscape-oriented card using our Stitched Circle Large Dies. In the center of each circle, I added the panda bear, dog, and bunny onto a summer floatie with accessories from the Beach Buddies Stamps like the heart sunglasses and snorkle mask. For my greeting, I elongated the stitched Pennant from the Stitched Rectangle Dies by running it through my die-cutting machine twice with part of the die hanging off the cutting plate, but you could also shorten a similar pennant from our Slimline Pennant Dies. 

Lastly, I heat-embossed the greeting "It's Your Day ❤ Make a Splash" from our Beach Babies Stamps using white embossing powder and clear VersaMark Ink. I added the small white heart between the two phrases as a doodle using a white Sharpie paint pen because I was too lazy to look for one of our stamp sets featuring a tiny heart (although I know they exist).

Sealiously Sweet Card by Tina

Hello crafters, it’s Tina and we are ready for a fun beach day! How adorable are the cuties from the Sealiously Sweet stamp and die set! So let’s create a breezy summer card together by making a white card base which we’ll embellish with a striped stencil from my stash and some Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide.

For the centerpiece, I cut two circles from white card stock with the outer of the Stitched Circles Large set. One of them will be my base to which I will glue the scene parts. To obtain these parts, I cut the second white circle in three using two of the Catch a Wave dies.

The bottom portion was turned into a sandy beach (Fossilized Amber and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide), for the waves and sky I used Prize Ribbon again (sky stencil from my stash). Some water splatters added lots of details to these pieces.

Next, I glued the three parts together onto the white circle we already made, and they fit like a little puzzle. I selected three adorable seals and a sun hat from the Sealiously Sweet stamp and colored them with my Copic markers. As always, I added some white details with a gel pen.

Then I took my time to figure out where I would place the seals so I had enough space left for my big sentiment (Beach Buddies) which I stamped directly to the sky portion with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Before mounting the seals, I did add a few splashes of ‘foam’ using a white pigment ink from my stash and a small blending brush. To really emphasize the scene I also adhered a double layer of a white circle border (Fancy Frames Circle dies). As a final embellishment, I sprinkled a few blue diamonds from the Bright Jewel mix.

Fintastic Friends Shark Week Card Set with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some ocean-themed cards for summer using our Fintastic Friends Stamps, among several other sets.

For my first card featuring all the octopus, seahorse, jellyfish, and other ocean critters from our Fintastic Friends Stamps, I thought it would be fun to create giant bubbles using the negative space left behind using our Stitched Circle Small Dies and Stitched Circle Large Dies. You could also create a similar look with our Staggered Circle Dies. I then stamped the greeting from the set and added a number of the smaller bubble images as embellishments around the larger bubble window cutouts.

For my second card, I couldn't resist combining all the sharks from our Fintastic Friends Stamps, Best Fishes Stamps, and Sea You Soon Stamps together in one card to commemorate Shark Week. I wanted to create the look of portholes in a ship so I nested circles from our Stitched Circle Small Dies and Stitched Circle Large Dies, cutting them from metallic gold cardstock. I then lined them up on my glass mat and used the grid on the mat to mark off the spots with my Sharpie pen. I then used an X-acto knife to create small slits to slip in mini gold brads as the porthole rivets. I made sure to apply all the brads before adding the panel to my card front so the inside of my card would still be pretty. For my ship's "wall," I inked up a piece of woodgrain cardstock with Vintage Photo Distress ink and added a punny greeting from the Best Fishes Stamps, which I stamped onto our Brilliant Banner 3 Dies. I used a piece of ivory cardstock for my banner and inked it up with Antique Linen Distress Ink to make it feel like an old scroll. Lastly, I stamped some solid bubbles around the sharks using images from the Best Fishes set.
