Speech Bubbles Extras Die Focused Card with Marieke

Hello all, Marieke here. I'm back again with my weekly post for Sunny Studio Stamps. Today I hope to inspire you with a card that I made using the Speech Bubble Extras Dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Speech Bubbles Extras Die Focused Fabulous Flamingos Friendship Card by Marieke Slaats (featuring Sliding Window Dies, Tropical Scenes, Inside Greetings Friends)

Cut a A2 size topfold basecard, cut a pink rectangle 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and glued that to the front of the card. Cut a white rectangle and a 3 3/4 x 5 inch watercolor rectangle. Inked up the watercolor panel using Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistashio, Dried Marigold, Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry.

Die cut the Sliding Window Dies out of it. Cut a slightly smaller water color panel and inked it up using the same colors as I used for the other panel. Glued the smaller panel behind the larger panel leaving the moving part free of glue. Added the white and mechanisme onto the card.

Stamped the images from the Fabulous Flamingos and Tropical Scenes stamps. Colored them up using my Copic marker and cut them by hand and with the Tropical Scenes Dies.

Used Copic Colors:
Flamingo - RV13, RV42, R01, R00 / C5,C3,C1,0 / Y13, Y11
Green - YG67, YG63, YG03, YG01
Brown - E47, E44, E43, E42
Dark Green - G09, G07, G05
Pink - R85, R83, R81

Cut a strip of acetate, in the middle of the moving mechanisme i cut a slight cut and adhered the strip of acetate on the back of the mechanisme. Stamped the sentiment out of the Inside Greetings Friends Stamps using a pink ink and cut it using the Speech Bubbles Extras Dies. Adhered the speech bubble onto the top of the acetate strip.

Stamped the sentiments out of the Fabulous Flamingos Stamp on some pink cardstock and heat set them using a white embossing powder, cut one to a small banner and the other one I cut using my Scissors. Adhered these sentiments on the inside of the mechanisme so it would be the stopper.

Have a wonderful day!

Sliding Window Die Focused Card with Amanda

Hey, hey crafty friends, Amanda here! Fall is JUST around the corner and I’m getting out ALL the Fall stamps! Today, I wanted to share an interactive card I made using the Sliding Window Dies! This card will be perfect for my sister who has a Fall birthday coming up!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Sliding Window Die Focused Harvest Mice Fall Themed Card by Amanda Fitterer

To create this card, I opened up the instructions document that is SO helpful when using the Sliding Window Dies. I actually printed it out and folded it up to fit inside the die package for easier access next time I use it!

I started by choosing 2 papers from the Critter Country Paper. Following the instructions, I trimmed the polka dot paper to 4.25” x 5.5”. I trimmed the plaid paper to 4-7/8” x 3-1/4”.

Next, I ran the polka dot panel through my die cutting machine with the large rectangle die and the notch die. I secured the dies in place with some low tack tape so they didn’t budge at all. Then, I gently scored the lines. I added some double sided tape to attach the plaid paper. Then, applied more doube sided tape to secure the large panel to the card base.

Next, I trimmed my background paper from the Critter Country Paper to 3” x 4.25”. I glued only the bottom half of the paper to the card front.

My adorable little images are from the Harvest Mice Stamps. I stamped everything with a Copic-friendly black ink using my MISTI. Then, I colored all the images in with Copic markers. I added a few highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen. Then, I die cut all the images out with the coordinating dies.

I stamped my sentiment on a scrap piece of white cardstock and then trimmed them down into strips. I used scissors to create the banner edge.
I put 3D foam squares behind the images and sentiment and added them to the front of the card. I put my birthday sentiment on a clear acrylic block and stamped it onto the pull-put plaid panel. Then, I punched a small hole through the end of the panel and added some baker’s twine to it.

I just love the interactive element of this card and it’s SO much easier to make than you'd think! I hope you find some time to get crafty today and that this card has inspired you!!

Balloon Numbers Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm back with a new Sliding Window card, another birthday themed one, featuring the cutest super heroes. I really love to create those interactive cards because they're very easy to assemble, and they're great to use your pattern papers, one thing I wish I'd do more often.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Balloon Numbers Super Duper Birthday Card by Marine Simon (featuring Super Duper, Sliding Window Dies, Cityscape Border Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies)

So, I started off by stamping my Super Duper images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers and Graph'it brush markers. I went for a fun green + aqua + blue + yellow color palette that matches the super hero theme quite nicely, and once the coloring was done, I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen.

I stamped numbers and letters on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using the Balloon Numbers and the Balloon Alphabet. I first stamped a "1" and a "0" using Lawn Fawn freshly cut grass dye ink, and cut those numbers using the coordinating dies. Next I stamped "HB2U" (happy birthday to you) using Lawn Fawn fish tank, freshly cut grass, sunflower and mermaid dye inks, and I wanted those letters to be real letters and not balloons, so before stamping them, I masked the balloon details with washi tape, and after die cutting the letters, I trimmed off the excess of paper below each letter with scissors. I set everything aside and moved on to the Sliding Window card.

I cut a 5 x 3,75 inches Surprise Party Starry Blue panel using the largest Stitched Rectangle, cut the Sliding Window out of it, as well as the notch at the very top, and also cut a 5 x 3,25 inches Heroic Halftones Yellow panel.

I folded my Sliding Window Starry Blue panel on the score lines, flipped it over, and added double sided tape to the slim bottom tab. I peeled the backing paper off this tab, flipped my Yellow panel over, and attached it at the back of my Sliding Window Starry Blue panel, lining up the bottom edge of the Yellow panel with the edge of the slim tab. And I wanted to frame my sliding starry blue panel nicely, so I cut a 5 x 3,75 inches Heroic Halftones Black panel, cut a Sliding Window out of it, as well as the notch at the top, I trimmed the center of that panel to get a frame, and stuck that frame to my Starry Blue panel using liquid glue.

Next I cut a Heroic Halftones Green panel using the largest Stitched Rectangle, I flipped my Sliding Window panel over, and added foam strips along the bottom edge, on the long edges as well, but not along the top edge. I peeled all the backing papers off, and attached my sliding panel to the Green panel. Next I attached my sliding panel to a 5,25 x 4 inches holographic panel, and finally to a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Polka Dot Parade Green panel.

And to complete my interactive panel, I attached the remaining piece of Heroic Halftones Black paper at the top of the Yellow pull tab panel, cut a green eyelet using a Sliding Window die, stuck that eyelet, pierced a hole through it, and added navy blue thread twine with a green bead to be able to pull the interactive panel.

Next I decorated the front of my Sliding Window panel. I cut a 3 x 1/4 inch slim strip out of dark gray cardstock and attached it at the very bottom of the interactive panel using 2mm foam squares. I cut three Cityscape borders out of indigo blue cardstock, stuck each border to some lighter blue cardstock, trimmed that lighter blue cardstock all around the buildings, added highlights and details using a white gel pen, cut the borders to fit on the interactive panel, and attached them using foam squares.

I cut a speech bubble out of black cardstock using a Comic Strip Speech Bubble die, white heat embossed "Have an incredible birthday" from Super Duper on it, and then attached the images and "HB2U" on the front of the card and on the inside as well using 1mm and 2mm foam squares.

Next I stamped two balloon strings from Balloon Alphabet, cut them and attached each of them to an acetate strip using liquid glue. At the end of each string, I attached the "1" and the "0" using 3mm glue dots, I stuck the strings in the girl's hand using liquid glue again, and this way when the Sliding Window card is open, the balloons stay up in the air.

And that's it! I hope that you like this extra fun and super bright interactive card. Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next week.

Inside Greetings Belated Birthday Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with a Sliding Window belated birthday card to share with you showcasing the Inside Greetings Belated Birthday Stamps. This is an awesome stamp set with a variety of fun and funny sentiments that are just perfect for belated birthday cards. I chose a fun interactive card design for the recipient today to make up for the lateness of the late birthday wishes.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Inside Greetings Belated Birthday Card by Hanh Nguyen (featuring Big Bold Greetings, Panda Party, Sliding Window Dies)

Have you ever made a sliding window card? They are super fun and quite easy to make. They are not nearly as complex and intimidating as they look. And the Sliding Window Dies takes all of the guess work out of making this card. In the event that you have never made one of these cards or used this die, there is an excellent tutorial video as well as written directions on the Sunny Studio website that can be found HERE.

For this card design, I used a piece of pattern paper (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") from the Polka Dot Parade Paper Pack, a piece of pattern paper (3 1/4" x 4 7/8") from the Surprise Party Paper Pack and two pieces of Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock (4 1/4" x 5.5" and 3" x 4").

I centered the main Sliding Window Dies onto the larger pattern paper and placed the little half circle die on the upper edge of the paper. I ran this through my diecutting machine. Not only did the dies cut out the window flap and notch on the top but it also created score lines for the folding lines. I folded along these lines to help the window open and close.

Before going onto the next step of the card assembly, I placed the sliding window panel on top of my larger piece of white cardstock and used it as a guide to stamp the inside images and sentiments. Using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the pandas, hats and cupcakes from the Panda Party Stamps and the presents from the Foxy Friends Stamps sets onto the larger white cardstock (inside panel) as well as on a separate piece for coloring and diecutting for the card front. I also stamped the sentiment from the Inside Greetings Belated Birthday onto the inside panel with a combo of black and red ink.

I used the coordinating Panda Party Dies and Foxy Friends Dies to diecut the images for the front panel. I colored the images with Copic markers and highlighted with a white gel pen.

COPIC COLORS:
Pandas: C00/0/1/3/5/7, R30
Red: R24/29/39
Orange: Y38 YR04
Green: YG01/03/17
Light Blue: B00/02/04
Dark Blue: B21/24/28
Cupcake Frosting: E41

I returned to the card assembly by attaching the smaller piece of patterned paper to the bottom edge of the window flap with double sided tape. I added double sided tape to the sides and bottom of the backside of the larger patterned paper and adhered it to the front of the inside panel that I had colored. I tested to make sure the window opened and closed.

For the sentiment, I stamped the Happy Birthday from the Big Bold Greetings Stamps with red ink and diecut it out with the Big Bold Greetings Dies. Then, I stamped the "belated" from the Inside Greetings Belated Birthday Stamps set with Versamark Watermark ink onto a piece of black cardstock and heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder. I trimmed it out with a paper trimmer.

I adhered my colored images to the smaller piece of white cardstock with liquid adhesive. I attached the sentiments with foam tape for a bit of dimension. I adhered the small white panel to the front of the window flap making sure to only adhere it to the bottom half of the flap.

Next, I adhered the little half circle notch that I diecut from the front panel to the smaller piece of patterned paper to hide the inside pattern as well as reinforce the sliding panel. Then I punched a hole in this sliding panel and attached a piece of twine to help the recipient pull out the panel. Finally, I adhered the entire panel to an A2 white cardbase (4 1/4" x 5 1/2").
