Love Birds Card with Leanne

Hello and happy Monday! Leanne here to share some fresh card making inspiration showcasing the Love Birds stamp set.  

I started with a light aqua blue card base. I trimmed a panel of white card stock down just slightly smaller than my A2 card base. I ran that panel through my die cut machine with the Dotted Diamond Portrait die to give it that decorative texture.  I then used a Fancy Frames Circle die to cut out a scalloped circle shaped window.  I also die cut some peach card stock with that same circle frame die four times.  The peach scalloped circles have been stacked and adhered together to create one thick frame to highlight the scene.  

I used a blend of Tattered Rose and Dried Marigold Distress Oxide inks to create a soft peachy background to put behind the window.  I Copic colored the birds and branch images. I used the coordinating Love Birds dies to cut them out and then added them onto the card.  I tucked one bird behind the top of circle window so he's peeking out and looking down at the one perched on the branch.

yellow flower center - Y11, Y15
rosy cheeks - R00, R20

I stamped the word "tweetheart" directly onto the background. It fit perfectly in the space between the birds.  To finish the greeting I added a sentiment from the Lovey Dovey stamp set.

Love Birds Card with Isha

Hello everyone! Isha here with a clean and simple card featuring the Love Birds stamps and coordinating dies. This is such a cute stamp set with lots of fun images. 

I started by sponging some teal inks in the center. Flick lilac and white paint splatters. I then die-cut the frame from the Snowflake Circle Frame die, adhere to the panel.

Stamp the images from the Love Birds stamp, color using copic markers, die-cut using the coordinating dies. Stamp the sentiment and adhere the images. Adhere this panel to a teal card base. To finish, I added some clear jewels.

Love Birds Card with Tina

Hi crafty friends, Tina here and today I am back on the blog with a card featuring the sweet Love Birds stamp and die set. There are two pairs of birds in this set, and they are both super cute. Although it’s still very much cold and rainy outside, I wanted to create a happy Spring card with lots of flowers.

My background is made from white card stock and cut with the outer die of the Frilly Frames Stripes die. Next, I inked up this panel with Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry and a brick stencil from my stash. To create a border, I die cut the piece with a smaller rectangle from a nesting die set and mounted both pieces to a white card base.

As a scene for my sweet birds I added a window from the Wonderful Window Dies and backed it with a piece of light blue paper. I also cut the flower box and a bunch of small flowers from this set (and a few from the Gift Card Envelope Dies).

Then I stamped and cut the birdies and branch from the Love Birds stamp. All the images and the flowers were colored with my Copics in fun colors. I used shades of pink and blue and they work so well together.

Next, I added the branch and birds to the scene. And finally, I started layering the flowers onto the branch and inside the flower box. The sentiment was selected from the Love Birds stamp set and stamped onto a small white strip with Versafine Onyx Black ink. Finally, I sprinkled a few Chrystal Clear Jewels as embellishments.

Love Birds Card with Nicky

Hi this is Nicky with you today with my first blog post as a member of the Sunny Studio Design Team and I have a sweet card created using the brand new Love Birds stamp set. 

To create this card I first took two panels of white cardstock and I used the Fancy Frames Rectangle die to die cut twice. I glued the frames together to make them nice and sturdy and with the negative cut from the centre that was created I blended softly with a peachy pink ink. I adhered the frame to a panel of pale pink cardstock and then I recessed the ink blended background panel through the opening and glued it into place.

I created the word LOVE using the Chloe Alphabet Die. I die cut each letter 3 times and glued them in stacks and used Copic markers to create an ombré affect. I die cut some pale pink cardstock using the Brilliant Banner 2 die and stamped the sentiments from the Love Birds stamp set.

In nature, Love Birds come in so many beautiful colours so you can really have fun recreating these birds every time you use the stamp set but I chose a variety called 'Peach-Faced Love Bird' to inspire mine. I stamped the images then used the following Copic marker combinations to colour everything:

Birds - BG32, G00, G000, G0000, C1, C0, E01, R00, R000
Blushes - R22, R21, R20, R00
Branch - E44, E43, E42
Leaves - BG32, G00, G000, G0000
Flowers - Y23, R000
Heart - R21, R00

The images were die cut using the coordinating dies and applied with foam tape and then underneath I glued the word LOVE and after that I added the banner with more foam tape.

To finish up I used a white gel pen to dot in some interest to the blended background and to highlight points on the coloured images and then it was complete.

Love Birds Card with Tammy

Hello friends and Happy New Year! Tammy here! I'm so excited to be back on the blog sharing some projects, featuring new and amazing products from Sunny Studio's spring release. My card today is showcasing the adorable set, Love Birds.

I colored the darling birds from the Love Birds Stamp set to look like blue birds, using Copic markers, then die cut all images with the coordinating dies. Next, I created a little oval background for the blue birds using the Scalloped Oval Mat 3 Dies. 

I lightly blended the background with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink, then attached it (with foam tape) to a blue patterned panel, cut from the Classic Sunburst Paper, measuring 4 X 5 1/2". 

Next, I arranged the images onto the scalloped oval, attaching some with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment onto a pink banner die cut using the Brilliant Banner 1 Die. 

Lastly, I attached the sentiment banner to my card using foam tape, then adhered my panel to a white A2 card base to finish up my card.

Love Birds Card with Rachel

Hello crafty friends! It's Rachel here with a shadow box card featuring the adorable new Love Birds Stamp Set. 

To start, I first created my shadow box from scratch. When folded, it measures 5" x 6.5" and can fit easily in a standard 5"x7" envelope. When upright, it measures 4.5" wide by 5" tall. To create my base, I simply trimmed two pieces of white card stock to 5" x 7" and scored each piece at both 1/2" and 5". I die cut a stitched circle into one of the pieces to create a window, stamped my sentiment to the piece with the window, and then attached both the front and back pieces of my shadow box together by adding some glue to the 1/2" tab pieces.

I next stamped all of my images onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with some Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic alcohol markers. I then used the coordinating Love Birds Die Set to cut them out. Prior to adding my images to the inside of my shadow box card, I first die cut a grass panel (from green card stock) and a fence (from white card stock) using the Picket Fence Border Die Set. I adhered the grass first directly behind the bottom opening of my circular window and then added the fence piece behind my grass.

For my background, I blended some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink onto a 4.5" x 5" piece of smooth white card stock. Lastly, I added some hearts using clear acetate in the areas where it would look like the hearts were floating.

Love Birds Card with Tina

Hi crafty friends, Tina here and my last card for the year is a sweet love themed one. Star of the show are the adorable cuties from the Love Birds which comes with matching dies. How sweet is this Valentine’s Day set!

You can never have enough hearts on a love themed card, so I went all out with the beautiful Bursting Hearts die. I cut this panel from white cardstock. Not only do you get a gorgeous background, but also lots of cute hearts as an extra bonus. I put them in a little bag to use on later projects.

There are so many ways in which this panel can be used so today I decided to select a blue dotted paper from Dots & Stripes Pastel. Layering the white heart panel on top creates a fun contrast. Especially when you also add a heart (Scalloped Heart Dies) and ink it in a bright red color with blending brushes and Distress Oxide Lumberjack Plaid.

I selected two cuties from the Love Birds set and colored them with my Copics in happy colors that would match my background elements. The sentiment was selected from the same set and stamped onto a small white strip with Versafine Onyx Black ink and a red ink from my stash.

The two birds and the banner were mounted to the heart with foam tape, and they fit just perfect. It’s a great focal point for this multi-layer card. A few Silver Jewels were scattered around the cute couple as a final embellishment.

Love Birds Ornaments with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm back for the last time of the year with this duo of Valentine ornaments showcasing the ever so sweet Love Birds. And I had so much fun coloring on kraft cardstock for my Merry Mocha see-through tags that I decided to do it again with those lovely birdies.

So I started off by stamping the four birds, the branches, multiple leaves, flowers and hearts on a light kraft cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I used my Spectrum Noir Illustrator and Graph'it brush markers to color them all, and then used the coordinating dies to cut everything. And I don't know why, but when I color on kraft cardstock I don't feel the need of adding white highlights to my images, but in that case I did add a dot on each bird's eye using a white gel pen, just to make them pop a little bit more.

Next I created my two heart shaped ornaments following the same design for both, so here are the different steps for one:

1. Cut a large Scalloped Heart out of a light brown woodgrain cardstock, another one out of a dark kraft cardstock, and attach them back to back using liquid glue

2. Cut a large Scalloped Heart out of a colored cardstock, and cut a heart shaped window out of it using the largest Stitched Heart 2 to create a heart frame

3. Glue this heart frame on the woodgrain heart panel using liquid glue

4. Cut a small Stitched Heart 2 out of a darker brown cardstock than the one at step 1, stamp and emboss a greeting from Love Birds on that heart, and attach that heart at the back of the ornament using 1mm foam squares

Next I attached my images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, added hemp twine to create the handles, and tied bows that I added at the top of each ornament using liquid glue. And that's it! Very simple, but yet super cute.

Love Birds Card with Gladys

Hello crafty friends, Gladys here! I'm excited to be back on the blog with a sweet card featuring the new mini stamp set called Love Birds. It is perfect for Valentine's day but I can see it used year-round for birthdays, anniversary and the holiday season.

I started by stamping all the images from the set using alcohol-friendly ink. I colored them with Copic markers and used the coordinating dies to cut them all out. Although this is a mini set it has lots of images to build scenes with. It has multiple birds facing opposite directions as well as a branch, different sized leaves, flowers, hearts, and several sentiments. I really like how the birds are drawn in this set, so sweet and cute!

Next, I used the Slimline Scalloped Frame die to cut from thick white cardstock. I trimmed it down to fit on an A2 size card panel. For the background, I used a cloud stencil with salvaged patina distress oxide ink. I foam mounted the panel onto a lilac patterned paper which was cut from A2 size stitched rectangle die. 

I assembled the branch, leaves, flowers on the background panel and adhered them with liquid glue. I added double-sided foam tape on all the birds to give them dimension. For the sentiment I used the "love" word die from the Scalloped Oval Mat 2 die set to cut multiple times from white cardstock and lilac cardstock to match the pattern paper. I combined the word die with a sentiment from the love bird stamp set to complete this simple and sweet card.

Love Bird Card with Isha

Hello everyone! Isha here with you with a valentine theme card featuring the Love Birds stamps and dies. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your family. Moving from all the holiday cards to valentine theme card felt like a big change...lol.

I started by die-cutting a white panel using the Bursting Heart Dies. Next, take a vellum and sponge inks mimosa, mango sorbet, bubble gum and raspberry bliss by Pinkfresh studio. Adhere behind the die-cut panel. Adhere to a white card.

Die-cut the hearts using the Stitched Heart 2 dies from vellum and white card. Die-cut another heart using the Scalloped Heart die. Sponge the same inks to this piece. Stack the hearts using 3d foam and liquid glue.

Stamp the images from the Love Birds stamps, color using copic markers and die-cut using the coordinating dies. Adhere to the card. Stamp the sentiment using versamark ink, sprinkle WOW! opaque white embossing powder and adhere to the card.
