Wonderful Windows Die Focused Cards with Marie and Catherine

Hello Crafty Friends, Marie here! Thank Heavens, it's officially Spring! Out with the cold and in with the warmth! Spring brings about renewal, and rebirth within nature as well as within ourselves. Spring can also be a reminder to revive or nurture past friendships. In my case, Spring couldn't have come at a better time as I reconnect with a dear friend from my high school days! My card creation today is a friendship card I created for my friend to show her my gratitude for finally reconnecting after so many years. This card features the Wonderful Windows Dies from Sunny Studio Stamps' Spring 2023 collection. It sure is wonderful as it's one of my favorite dies from this release! I also paired this window scene with tiny, adorable bees from their Garden Critters Stamps.

The first step to create this friendship card was to cut out two A2 sized card panels from Bristol Smooth Cardstock paper. This paper is super smooth and perfect for ink blending. Then taking the background panel, I used a brick stencil, and ink blended a light lavender color using Milled Lavender Distress Oxide Ink. To darken the edges, I went in with Shaded Lilac Distress Ink. For the bottom portion of the card, I inked it with some Mowed Lawn Distress ink and splattered some water droplets to create some texture.

For all my die cuts except the flowers, I used Bristol smooth cardstock because it takes Copic markers very well. Starting with my window frame, I colored it using copic markers in cool grey tones. I used the colors Cool Gray No.3 (C-3) , and Cool Gray No 1. (C-1). For the window curtains I used some beautiful yellow pattern paper from the Spring Fever Paper. For the inside window portion and the top triangle window pieces, I used Vintage Paper Distress Oxide to mimic the warmth of a softly lit room. I used some gold metallic paper for the curtain holders. And for the flower box, I used Copic Markers in the colors Chamois ( E35) and Sepia (E37) and to make it a terracotta color, I layered over top Rose Blush (PP4) from Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers. All the dainty and adorable mini flower blooms were cut from various colors of red, and shades of pink cardstock. For all the tiny leaves, I used Yellow Green Copic marker in (YG03) and did some Mowed Lawn distress ink for shading on the base. For the cute fence, I used Sunny's Scalloped Fence Dies and colored it using Mauve Shadow (BV00) and Cool Grey No. (C-1) Copic Markers. I positioned all my die cut elements and adhered them to my card front panel with Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue.

Next, I stamped out all the bee images onto watercolor paper.  I used Faber-Castell watercolor pencils to color all the images. I cut out the bees using their corresponding die from the Garden Critters Dies. I adhered the bees using repositionable double sided tape adhesive. For some detailing, I used a white Gelly Roll pen to create some flying bee trails.

Moving on to the inside of my card, I did the same brick stenciling and ink blending as I did on the front to create continuity. I stamped out my Sentiment from the Garden Critters Stamp onto 110 lb. cardstock, and used some banner dies to cut them out. I also inked around the edges for some added interest with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide. Finally, I used some bee images on the inside, and voila all finished and ready to personalize!

That's it for this week's spring time friendship card inspiration! Thank you so much for joining me today!  Until next time, Happy Cardmaking!

Hello Crafty Friends! Catherine here, and today I am sharing a card created with the Wonderful Windows Dies. This die set is so versatile, it comes with an arched radius frame, outer rectangular frame, curtains, flower box, and shutters which you can add to your design.  For my card, I used the arched radius frame, shutters, and flower box.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Wonderful Windows Die Focused Friendship Card by Catherine Cohen (featuring Cruising Critters, Picket Fence Border Dies)

For the background, I die cut A2 white cardstock with a stitched rectangle die.  I ink blended the background with Spun Sugar, Dried Marigold, Shaded Lilac, and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxides. I lightly splattered Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide mixed with water for added interest and set the background aside to dry.

Next, I die cut the outer rectangular frame, shutters, flower bed, flowers, hinges, and arched frame out of white cardstock. I ink blended the shutter panels and flowers with the same color combination as the background. I added a few leaves ink blended with Shabby Shutters Distress Oxide. I ink blended the flower bed and hinges with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Wonderful Windows Die Focused Friendship Card by Catherine Cohen (featuring Cruising Critters, Picket Fence Border Dies)

For the “gang,” I stamped the critters from Cruising Critters Stamps onto white cardstock. To fit as many of the critters into the frame as possible, I masked off the bunny with a post it note. I fussy cut the gang and colored the critters with Copic Markers listed in my blog link below. For the window background, I ink blended a piece of white cardstock trimmed to the same size as the arched frame and ink blended with the same color combination. I adhered the gang onto the window background and then onto the card background along with the remaining window pieces.

I added the flower bed along with some flowers. For the bottom of the card, I added a white fence and grass ink blended with Shabby Shutters and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide using the Picket Fence Border Die.

I finished off the card with sentiments from Holiday Express Stamps stamped onto white banners. I added some clear enamel dots for added details.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  Please feel free to visit me at Crafti-Cat and have a wonderful week!

Wonderful Windows Cards with Bobbi and Cathy

Hi friends! Bobbi here with the new Wonderful Windows dies by Sunny Studio Stamps. There is nothing I want more right now than a view out my window filled with flowers and singing birds! Unfortunately, all I see in Wisconsin today is barren trees and a snow-covered landscape. Spring is coming soon and this card makes me excited for the upcoming season. I’m using the Wonderful Windows Dies along with the Little Birdie stamps and dies for this card.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Wonderful Windows Die Focused Card by Bobbi Lemanski (featuring Little Birdie)

To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I cut my windows from white cardstock (Neenah 80lb Solar White) and added a little aging to the largest frame using Copics in a warm gray, W3, W1, W0.  I also cut the window frame from black cardstock and the curtains from white. This combination reminds me of the windows you’d see on older townhouses in New York City.

Next, I adhered a yellow cardstock behind the black frames and shadowed the frames, rails, stiles, and muntins using a darker yellow with Copics Y28 and Y26. The curtain folds were shadowed with W4, W3, W1 to make the pleated layers stand out a bit more. I added 1/8″ strips of metallic gold cardstock to the tops of both frames. Once assembled, I added some white lines to the glass panes to resemble glare on the glass using my white Gelly Roll pen.

To make the 5″ X 7″ card background, I used a brick stencil and Distress Oxide Ink in Lost Shadow to create the light bricks on my card base’s front panel. I used a soft touch of Black Soot around the corners’ edges of the card for a scene shadow. Next, I added black window boxes and filled them with flowers and leaves from the die set. I added so many that you can’t see the black boxes! I kept the flowers simple in white and red with the green leaves. I wanted the boxes to flow over with flowers and foliage so I used my Copic marker in YG67 to create the trailing greenery and yellow pearl pen to add tiny yellow blossoms.

Lastly, I added two blue birds from the Little Birdie set. I colored them in BG72, BG11, B02, R11, and E50. I nestled one in the flower box and one in front of the window. I think the birds add just the right touch to finish this window scene!

Hey friends! Cathy here today and I’m excited to share a Parisian Café inspired card featuring the Wonderful Windows Dies. There are so many ways to use these windows on your projects and I couldn’t wait to share this one!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Wonderful Windows Die Focused Card by Cathy Chapdelaine (featuring Sweet Treats House Add-On Dies, Paris Afternoon)

I started this A2 size card with the brick of the store front. I cut a piece of ivory cardstock 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I inked a second piece of the ivory cardstock with Tattered Rose Distress ink and I die-cut this piece numerous times using a planter box die from the Sweet Treat House Add-on Dies. I adhered these pieces to the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" cardstock piece starting at the bottom and working my way up. I then adhered the panel to an A2 card front.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Wonderful Windows Die Focused Card by Cathy Chapdelaine (featuring Sweet Treats House Add-On Dies, Paris Afternoon)

Next, I die-cut the large window from the Wonderful Windows Dies from black cardstock and adhered a 1 3/4" x 3” piece of acetate to the back of the window. I then cut a piece of patterned paper from the Subtle Grey Tones Paper 1 1/2" x 2 3/4” for the inside of the café.

I stamped a chair, table, coffee mugs and a baguette from the Paris Afternoon Stamps and a table from the Cozy Christmas Stamps (I used this for the shelf) on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb solar white cardstock, colored them with Copics and fussy cut them out. I then adhered them to the patterned paper making sure they would show through the windowpane. I applied adhesive to the back of the window frame and adhered it over the paper piece.

Next, I adhered the window to the card front, centered and 1/2" from the bottom of the card. I inked a piece of white cardstock with Speckled Egg Distress ink and die-cut the shutters. I die-cut the outer portion of the shutters twice and layered them for extra dimension. I inked a piece of white cardstock with Tea Dye Distress ink for the planter box and Peeled Paint Distress ink for the leaves.

For the awning, I cut a piece of white cardstock 2 1/2" x 4” and die-cut black and white cardstock with the ribbon die from the Ribbon & Lace Border Dies. Starting on one edge of the cardstock, I adhered the ribbon strips alternating in color.

I then placed the bag topper die from the Sweet Treat House Add-on Dies cutting face down on the ribbon piece (evenly positioned on the side black ribbon strips), taped it in place and die-cut the piece. I folded along the score line at the top, applied adhesive to just the top edge and adhered it 1/2" from the top of the card. Adhering just the top edge allows the awning to stick up a bit from the card front but will still push down flat to fit in an envelope.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Wonderful Windows Die Focused Card by Cathy Chapdelaine (featuring Sweet Treats House Add-On Dies, Paris Afternoon)

To finish, I stamped the café from the City Streets Stamps, colored the café sign and fussy cut it out. I die-cut 2 hinges from the Wonderful Windows Dies from black cardstock to hang the sign at the top of the window. I inked a piece of white cardstock with Saltwater Taffy Distress ink and die-cut it using the ribbon die from the Ribbon & Lace Border Dies. I then heat embossed a sentiment on it from the City Streets Stamps and adhered it across the awning.

I hope you enjoyed my café card and thanks for stopping by today! For more inspiration, please visit my blog www.inkredibleadventures.com and you can also find me on Instagram as @cathy.chapdelaine.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Cards with Gladys Marcelino

Hello friends!! Gladys here and I'm so excited to be back on the blog today to share some fun and fresh new projects using products from the latest release. Let's get started!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Panda Party Cards by Gladys Marcelino (Make A Wish)

For my first card I created a cute birthday card featuring the adorable pandas from the Panda Party stamp set. To start I used a watercolor stencil and ink blended a pastel rainbow with various distress oxide inks. I added interest by splattering diluted shaded lilac and white paint using a small paint brush. I stamped the pandas and birthday accessories from the stamp set with alcohol friendly ink. I colored the images with copic markers and used their coordinating dies to cut them out. Since this is a birthday card we can't have a birthday without cake so I stamped and colored the cake from a smaller stamp set called Make A Wish.

Next I cut down the stenciled background panel using a stitched rectangle die slightly smaller than A2 size. Then it was time to assemble the scene. Once I was happy with the placement of the images I used double sided foam tape to attached them. I stamped the punny sentiment on the center of the card and finally I mounted the panel onto a rainbow pattern paper from the latest release called Spring Fever.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Panda Party Cards by Gladys Marcelino (featuring Wonderful Windows)

For my second project I made a slimline card, again using the Panda Party stamp set with the Wonderful Windows dies.

I began by ink blending the background using a brick stencil and distress oxide inks. Then I started die cutting elements from the window dies. I used various colored card stock and pattern paper to complement the scene. The flowers did take the longest from cutting the different colors of paper and gluing them together. I wanted to create a cluster of flowers for the windowsills so it was a labor of love and I enjoyed the process. Also, I think it's because I'm longing for Spring to come. LOL!

I was able to fit almost 2 windows on top of each other and stuck the pandas in each of them. I cut a grass border and a couple of pandas holding flowers which I thought was so sweet. Next I heat embossed the sentiment in white on vellum. The sentiment "Have a pandastic day!" was my inspiration for this scene. I had imagined the pandas are greeting their neighbors, friends or family members to have a fantastic day. I  had so fun creating this scene and I love how it turned out.

That is all for me today. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!

Spring Fever Patterned Paper Focused Cards with Waleska and Marine

Hello Friends!!! Waleska here with you. I am just popping in today to share a super adorable card inspired on one of my favorite movies The Secret Life of Pets, have you seen it? is just so funny and cute with all the pets having an entire different life when their owners are not around.  For this card I used the Christmas Critters Stamp set, the Comic Strip Everyday dies and the Spring Fever Paper Pad.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Spring Fever Patterned Paper Focused Card by Waleska Galindo (featuring Wonderful Windows, Comic Strip Everyday Dies, Christmas Critters, Ribbon & Lace Dies)

I started creating this card by cutting the Comic Strip Everyday dies with white cardstock and cutting the curtains found on the the Wonderful Window dies from different patterns from the Spring Fever 6 x 6 paper pad I also used the Ribbon and Lace Dies

I then put the cloud pattern paper on the back of the comic strip die and started assemble the curtains, I wanted all the cute pets to be peeking from different windows. I then stamped and color a bunch of cats and dogs and adhered them to the windows I also added some little hearts because all this pets are loved by their owners.

I finally adhered this panel to a card base and added the sentiment from the Party Pups stamp set! How adorable are they? Thank you so much for stopping by today have a wonderful rest of your day!

----------------------------------------------

Hello crafty friends, Marine here with you today! I'm so glad to be back on the blog with this pawesome pop-up card showcasing the most adorable dogs from Party Pups, as well as the new Spring Fever paper pack that I used to create my landscape.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Spring Fever Patterned Paper Focused Birthday Card by Marine Simon (featuring Party Pups, Clucky Chickens)

I started off by stamping all the images on white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and colored everything using my alcohol markers. I picked all the dogs + birthday cake + balloons + party hats from Party Pups, as well as the chicken coop from Clucky Chickens to create a cute doghouse (the paw print I stamped on it comes from Party Pups) I went for neutral shades to color the dogs, and for rainbow colors to color the balloons & party hats to make the card even more festive.

Next I cut all the different elements to build the pop-up card. I cut the base pieces using kraft cardstock, and chose pattern papers to decorate the inside and outside: the grass paper + sky paper + yellow dotted paper are from the Spring Fever paper pack, and the red gingham paper is from the Joyful Holiday paper pack.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Spring Fever Patterned Paper Focused Birthday Card by Marine Simon (featuring Party Pups, Clucky Chickens)

I white heat embossed my "Woofing you a happy birthday" greeting from Party Pups on the yellow dotted banner, and I added highlights & details on the images using a white gel pen. Next I assembled the different pieces and built the pop-up card, and then I attached the images on the grass border using 3mm glue dots.

And that's it! Love those cute pups so much, and the balloons are so fun! I hope you like this new colorful and cheerful card. Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next time!

Big Bold Greetings Cards with Vanessa and Tina

Hello to you! Vanessa here with a simple Thank You card using the Big Bold Greetings stamps.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Big Bold Greetings Baby Elephant Thank You Card by Vanessa Menhorn

I trimmed a panel of white cardstock slightly smaller than my card base and stamped the thanks with grey ink to create my patterned background. After I had adhered the panel to the card, I stamped the Baby Elephant and the Garden Fairy butterfly onto a piece of cardstock, colored everything with Copics, die-cut the elements with the matching dies and adhered them with foam tape.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Big Bold Greetings Baby Elephant Thank You Card by Vanessa Menhorn

Then I stamped the sentiment, die-cut it and added it to the card. Finally, I added white gems and used a white gel pen to add highlights.

I love big, bold greetings! Have a lovely weekend, see you next week!

--------------------------------------------

Hello crafty friends, it’s Tina with a sweet birthday card featuring the beautiful Big Bold Greetings stamp and die set. There are a lot of sentiments in this set which makes it a super versatile addition to your stash!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Big Bold Greetings Baby Elephant Happy Birthday Card by Tina (featuring Spring Greenery, Make A Wish, Frilly Frame Dies, Stitched Arch Dies)

Since you can never have enough birthday cards; I choose the ‘Happy Birthday’ and stamped it in a dark pink Memento ink. After die cutting the sentiment, I also cut two extra layers in white Neenah cardstock so I could stack them for dimension.

Next, I stamped and die cut all my images using the adorable elephants from Baby Elephants, the hats from Panda Party and the cake from Make A Wish. I used my Copics for the coloring, selecting bright Spring colors.

In my design I included a wreath arch made with large and small branches from the Spring Greenery dies. To decorate this arch I also cut a bunch of colorful little flowers from the Wonderful Windows die set. These flowers were the perfect size to scatter all over the greenery.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Big Bold Greetings Baby Elephant Happy Birthday Card by Tina (featuring Spring Greenery, Make A Wish, Frilly Frame Dies, Stitched Arch Dies)

My card panel was cut from a piece of Neenah Solar White paper using the Frilly Frame Eyelet Lace die. I really love this die as a panel because it has a lovely scalloped edge. I didn’t want my background to be too distracting, so I just added a hint of purple with a shiplap stencil from my stash and Distress Oxide Dusty Concord.

Next I die cut an arch shape out of the panel using the largest of the Stitched Arched diesTo assemble the card, I first glued the remaining rectangle part of my panel directly to a white card base. Next, I mounted the stitched arch portion with foam tape to the base.

After building the greenery arch following the shape of the stitched arch, I added the little flowers and embellished them with a Pure White jewel to the centers. I completed the card by adhering the cake, elephants, and bold sentiment.

Another birthday card ready to send!  Thank you for joining me and happy crafting!
