Birthday Mouse Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm thrilled to be back on the blog with this adorable slimline card showcasing the lovely Birthday Mouse, as well as some happy friends that I picked from other sets (listed below).

As very often I started off with the coloring. I stamped all my images on Transotype perfect coloring paper using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and then colored everything using my Graph'it Brush markers and Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. We have the sweet Birthday Mouse, and also:

- two mice from Harvest Mice
- the kite, tulips and butterflies from Spring Showers
- the mouse from Christmas Critters
- the hot air balloon, banner and clouds from Balloon Rides
- the grass sprigs from Garden Critters

Next I moved on to the background. I cut an 8,5 x 3,5 inches slimline Strathmore bristol smooth panel, and divided it in three sections that I colored using stencils from my stash and oxide inks. I used a cloudy stencil along with tumbled glass and salty ocean oxide inks to make the sky at the top. Next grassy stencils along with shabby shutters and mowed lawn oxide inks to make two grass borders, and finally I used antique linen and vintage photo oxide inks with washi tape to create a straight path at the bottom of the panel.

I stamped my "Have a mice day" greeting from Birthday Mouse in black at the very bottom of my panel, attached all the images using 1mm foam squares, and as always I finished my card by adding highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen.

Notebook Tab Die Focused Card with Catherine

Hello Crafty Friends! Catherine here! Today, I am sharing a card create with the fun Notebook Tabs Dies. This set is so versatile as the dies can be used for journaling or scrapbooking. I decided to use the dies to make a fun clipboard themed card using a tab as the clip!

To start, I created a polka dot embossed background with Lots Of Dots Embossing. Next, I created the clipboard by trimming a piece of vellum to 3 1/2” W  x 4 1/2” H. I rounded off all four corners using a corner punch.

I die cut the notebook paper with Notebook Tabs Dies using paper from my stash. I die cut the clip with one of the tab dies in the set using gold cardstock. 

For the pencils, I die cut white cardstock with the pencil die from A Cut Above Dies. I scored the pencils for added texture. I stamped the bottom points and tips of the pencils using A Cut Above Stamps with Catherine Pooler Buttercream, Be Mine, and Cummerbund Inks. I added gold labels onto the pencils using the log piece from Fireplace Shaped Dies.

For the scissors, I die cut one pair out of gold cardstock and another pair out of paper from Spring Sunburst Paper. I added a gold screw in the middle using a tiny circle die from Gingerbread House Dies.

I added “you” die cut out of black cardstock from Slimline Scalloped Frame Dies. I die cut “RULE” out of white cardstock using Chloe Alphabet Dies and ink blended with Festive Berries, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, and Salty Ocean Distress Oxides.

I finished off the card by adding a cute bunny from Beach Buddies Stamps, hearts from Stitched Heart 2 Dies and a colorful strip border from Spring Sunburst Paper.

Bright Balloons Card with Isha

Hello everyone, Isha here with a CAS baby girl card featuring the Bright Balloons dies. I felt the balloons and the fairy were perfect for the baby card :)

I started by sponging squeezed lemonade, kitsch flamingo and wilted violet distress oxide inks to a white panel. Flick silver and gold paint. Die-cut the balloons, sponge the same inks as above. Add nuvo glaze and sprinkle some chunky glitter, let dry. 

Stamp the images, color and die-cut using the coordinating dies:
Fairy - Garden Fairy stamps and dies
Clouds and sentiment - Baby Elephants stamps and dies

Add gold floss to the balloons, adhere the panel and all the images to a white cardbase. Finish by adding pastel rainbow confetti by Studio Katia.

Crepe Paper Streamers Card with Bobbi

Hey everyone, Bobbi here. Sometimes a person just deserves a treat. This card was intentionally kept very open with the sentiment, "treat yourself" on the front. It could be used as a "congratulations," "happy birthday,' or a "thinking of you" card. I like having greetings like this on hand, because I can personalize them with another sentiment on the outside and/or inside, to fit the situation. I also like that this card can be used for all types of people. It's not too feminine nor masculine. It could be for a child or adult, too. 

I'm using the following Sunny Studio Stamps products:
Crepe Paper Streamers dies
Fast Food Fun stamps and dies
Cruisin' Cuisine stamps
Joyful Holiday pattern paper pack

To make this card, I stamped, colored and cut the food elements. I also cut the streamers in a powder blue and added darker blue sides to make the crepe paper look like it had two different colored sides. I attached a 4" tall X 5" wide red checkered paper to the bottom of my A7 card base. Right above, I added a strip of powder blue. The food items items were anchored on the blue strip. 

Streamers and confetti (dots of colorful paper) were glued in place, right above the food for a festive look. This card is ready to make someone's day. Lastly, I stamped the phrase, "treat yourself" at the top to finish the look.

Beach Buddies Card with Cathy

Hey friends! Cathy here today sharing a fun summer card featuring the adorable Beach Buddies Stamps. Summer is my favorite season so making ocean themed/tropical cards is one of my favorite things to do!

This is a mini slimline card (card base is 6 1/4" x 6 1/2", scored on the 6 1/2" side at 3 1/4" and folded in half) and I started by cutting a 3” x 6” panel from white cardstock for the card front. I die-cut a piece of Eclipse masking tape using a Slimline Nature Borders Die and placed the tape across the panel 2 1/4" from the top edge. I then inked a soft sky with Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold and Spun Sugar Distress inks. I stamped the “happy” sentiment 1/2" below the top edge and 3/4" from the left edge.

Next, I masked the sky and tore a ragged edge on a post-it note. I applied the post-it note 1” below the horizon line and inked the sand with Antique Linen Distress ink. Using Speckled Egg Distress ink, I very lightly inked a few inches below the beach and dotted the shoreline with a white gel pen. I also sprinkled a little water on the Speckled Egg area. I then adhered the panel to the card front.

For the waves, I cut 3 pieces of white cardstock (1” x 3 1/4", 2 1/8”x 3 1/4", 2 1/2" x 3 1/4") and die-cut the top edge of each piece using the Catch a Wave Dies. I inked them with Evergreen Bough Distress ink at the bottom blended into Speckled Egg Distress ink towards the top of each wave and sprinkled water on them. Since I tucked the critters behind the waves, I set them aside until I had my critters ready to adhere.

I stamped all the images on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb solar white cardstock, colored them with Copics and die-cut them using the coordinating dies. I used the Beach Buddies Stamps/Dies and the Beach Babies Stamps/Dies (umbrella and beach ball). I then adhered the critters and waves to the card front as shown.

To finish, I die-cut a palm tree from the Tropical Trees Backdrop Die from white cardstock, colored it with Copics and adhered it on the beach. I heat embossed the “Summer” sentiment on white cardstock with white embossing powder, inked over it with Kitsch Flamingo Distress ink and fussy cut around it.
