Guest Designer Spotlight: Cards with Kristie Marcotte

Hey everyone, Kristie Marcotte here. I'm so excited to be sharing several cards with you today that focus on the Surprise Party paper pack. Let's get right to it!

I made a fun patriotic birthday card featuring red and blue tone on tone patterned papers. I added a couple balloons above the sentiment and included the Ric Rac Border across the card. I used the Bright Balloons, Ric Rac Border,and Big Bold Greetings.

This card features the Subtle Grey Tones paper for the background. I used some of the tone-on-tone patterns from the Surprise Party paper pad for all the presents and filled the background with lots of gifts. I used Perfect Gift Boxes, Crepe Paper Streamers and Big Bold Greetings.

The background features the colorful party hat paper. I added a couple tone on tone strips. I included 3 balloons on an oval die cut. I used Bright Balloons and Big Bold Greetings.

I used some white shimmer cardstock for the background and added several narrow strips of patterned paper in pink and teal. I added a couple of present images on a vellum circle, plus a few balloons above the sentiment. I used Bright Balloons, Perfect Gift Boxes, and Big Bold Greetings.

 It's still July, so I couldn't resist making a fun Christmas card. I used the green star tone on tone paper for the background and cut out some wonky windows. I added a tiny poinsettia inside each window. I used Wonky Windows, Window Quad Circle, and Inside Greetings Holiday.

Critter Campout Card with Tina

Hello crafty friends, it’s Tina with a sweet outdoor card featuring the cute Critter Campout stamp and die set! We haven’t been camping in a long time, but I still remember how fun it was!

For my base panel I die cut a piece of white Neenah paper with a slimline die from my stash. The three grassy borders were inked with green Distress Oxide inks (Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn), for the sky I used Kitsch Flamingo. Of course, I had to add some splatters too!

Next, I stamped a combined sentiment from the Critter Campout stamp in the right upper corner of this panel. As always I used my trusty Versafine Onyx Black ink.

After selecting three adorable critters (Critter Campout stamp) I browsed through my stash to find some extra accessories, like the chair (Kiddie Pool), the ball and the bag (Beach Babies). I also stamped and colored two cute birdies from A Bird’s Life. 

To set the scene I selected the pine trees from Gleeful Reindeer. I always keep my Sunny Studio Christmas sets in a separate container nearby, so I can use elements from them all year round! All the coloring was done with Copic Markers, and I added some details with a white gel pen.

To assemble the card, I glued my base panel to a white card base and added all the critters and their camping gear. I tucked the sleeping bear (sooooo cute!!!) inside the tent so he could enjoy a little nap!

A few Chrystal Clear jewels were added as embellishments. These are by far my favorite gems as they go with so many designs!

Magical Mermaids Card with Marine

Hey crafty friends, Marine here with you today! It's been a while since my last underwater card, so I'm very happy to be back on the blog with this new 3D card showcasing three Magical Mermaids.

I started off by creating the card base. I cut all the pieces out of white cardstock, cut an opening in the front panel, and assembled everything together. Next I cut the back panel out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock, colored it using salvaged patina + peacock feathers + blueprint sketch oxide inks, and stuck it on the white panel using liquid glue. And then I cut three wavy borders out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock again, colored them using antique linen + vintage photo oxide inks, and attached them inside the card using double sided tape.

Next I stamped all my images on Transotype perfect coloring paper using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, used the coordinating dies to cut them all, and colored everything using my Graph'it Brush markers and Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. We have:

- the three mermaids + rocks + seaweeds + starfish + small fish from Magical Mermaids
- the crab + seaweed clusters from Ocean View
- the clown fish + seaweeds from Best Fishes
- the seaweed cluster from Fintastic Friends

I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and attached them inside the card using glue dots. And I wanted a few fish to be swimming, so I stuck those images on the end of slim strips of acetate using 3mm glue dots, and then attached the other end of those strips of acetate on the wavy borders using the same glue dots.

Finally I created my sentiment. I cut a black banner using a die from the Notebook Photo Corners die set, white heat embossed my "Make a splash" greeting from Best Fishes on top of it, and then attached the banner on the bottom right corner of the card front.

And that's it! It was my first time coloring those beautiful mermaids, and I really enjoyed it! I loved creating this whole underwater scene, love how colorful it is, and I hope that you like it! Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next week!

Plane Awesome Card with Catherine

Hello Crafty Friends! Catherine here! Today, I am sharing an uplifting card created with the fun Plane Awesome Stamps!

To start, I ink blended a cloudy background on A2 white cardstock with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide using a stencil I made from the cloud die in Slimline Nature Border Dies. I splattered the background with some blue watercolor. Next, I die cut 4 cloudy borders for the top and bottom of the card using Fluffy Clouds Border Dies. I die cut two out of vellum and two out of white cardstock.

I stamped the images from Plane Awesome Stamps and die cut with Plane Awesome Dies. I added some balloons from Floating By Stamps. I colored all the images with Copic Markers listed in my blog link below. 

I added the word “fly” by die cutting two sets from white cardstock with Loopy Letters Dies I ink blended one set with Festive Berries Distress Oxide and I adhered it on top of the second set for dimension. I adhered all the images onto the background. I finished off the card with a White Heat Embossed sentiment from the set.

Oceans of Joy Card with Isha

Hello everyone, Isha here with you today with this fun summer theme card featuring the Oceans of Joy stamps and dies. I combined these with some other similar products to create a lovely ocean scene in a 3D box card form. I kept this card without sentiment, so to add the sentiment later as per the requirement.

First I created the watercolor background using various pigment powders onto watercolor paper, spray with water and more pigment as per your liking. Let this dry and then flick some white paint layer. To create the box I used the Slim Scenescape Builder dies by Mama Elephant.

Stamp, color and die-cut the images. Add some white gel pen details.

Assemble the box, there are many tutorial videos available. Adhere the images to create a scene. I adhered the dolphin onto a transparent strip so as to give a feel as if it was jumping out of the water.
