Guest Designer Spotlight: Baby Elephant & Country Carnival Cards with Keiko Ichikawa

Hello friends! I'm Keiko from Happy Tree Studio and I'm so excited to share two cards I created with Sunny Studio Stamps summer release. I had so much fun creating!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Baby Elephant Card by Keiko Ichikawa

To make the background, I inked a piece of 4" x 9" white card stock with several colors of Distress Oxide Inks and added some splatters with water and white paint. I then added die cut scallop frame with foam tapes and adhered three layers of cloud border die cuts.

I then stamped and Copic colored the images from Baby Elephants set and die cut them out with the coordinating dies. Before adhering the images with foam tapes (except three stars in the clouds that are glued flat), I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set with blue ink.

I pop the elephant in the middle on a die cut cloud and stamped all the little stars he is blowing using the same Oxide Inks I used for the background.

The background is A2 sized white card stock and I inked it with Distress Oxide Inks and added splatters with the same inks. All the images are from Country Carnival stamp set and I colored them with my Copic markers and die cut them with the coordinating dies. I adhered all the images with some foam tapes, but since the Ferris wheel is quite delicate (I love how this is die cut!) I decided to layer two additional die cut to the back for dimension. I also added cloud die cuts to set the scene.

The sentiments are from the same stamp set and I white heat embossed a part of them and stamped the rest with a blue ink. To finish off the card, I repeatedly stamped the balloon images with dark and light blue inks and added white highlights with gel pen.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a wonderful day!

Inside Greetings Congrats Cards with Audrey and Vanessa

Hello friends! Audrey here! Today, I have a card to share with you using the Inside Greetings Congrats stamp set, paired with one of my favorites from the summer release, Baby Elephants. My cousin and his wife just welcomed twin boys this week, and I created this card to send to them.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Inside Greetings Congrats Card by Audrey Tokach (featuring Baby Elephants, Tropical Tree Backdrop Dies)

I started off with a piece of white cardstock cut to 4" x 5.25". I masked off the bottom part of the panel an ink blended the top part with Broken China Distress ink. I stamped and colored several images from the
Baby Elephants stamp set, and die cut them with the coordinating Baby Elephants dies

I die cut several white clouds using the Tropical Trees Backdrop die set. They are a great size to use with the elephants. I glued the clouds down flat with a glue pen, then popped the elephants up with foam tape. A trio of stamped star balloons add some interest to the background. I also stamped several tiny stars scattered around the background.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Inside Greetings Congrats Card by Audrey Tokach (featuring Baby Elephants, Tropical Tree Backdrop Dies)

In the masked area, I stamped a sentiment from the Inside Greetings Congrats stamp set in black ink. Before mounting panel up with foam tape, I added a strip of patterned paper from the Dots and Stripes Pastel paper pad. To finish off the card, I added some white gel pen accents and some Diamond Stickles to the stamped clouds.

Hello to you! Vanessa here with a rainbow baby card using Inside Greetings Congrats stamps.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Inside Greetings Congrats Card by Vanessa Menhorn (featuring Baby Elephants)

I started with a panel of white cardstock and masked off a rectangle. Now I applied Broken Glass, Cracked Pistachio, Squeezed Lemonade, Kitsch Flamingo and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide Inks to create the rainbow background. Then I stamped the little stars and the sentiment and adhered the panel to my card base.

I stamped the little elephant from Baby Elephants, colored it with Copics, die-cut the image with the matching die and adhered it to the card with foam tape. Finally, I added tiny star sequins.

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Tropical Trees Backdrop Die Focused Cards with Marieke and Marine

Hello Sunny Studio friends. Marieke here with you, and today I hope to inspire you with an interactive card using the Tropical Trees Backdrop Die combined with the Magic Iris die.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Tree Backdrop Die Focused Card by Marieke Slaats (featuring Fabulous Flamingos, Inside Greetings)

So for this card I cut a watercolor panel using the Magic Iris Die. Ink Blended the panel using Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio Distress ink. For the sky I used Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade. The Magic Iris Addon Is just as big as the Tropical Trees Backdrop Die. So I cut the ink blended panel another time this time with the Tropical Trees Backdrop die. Die cut the backdrop another time out of kraft cardstock.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Tree Backdrop Die Focused Card by Marieke Slaats (featuring Fabulous Flamingos, Inside Greetings)

Out of kraft  and green cardstock I cut the trees, out of the leaves and ink blended the trees using Walnut Stain and Peeled Paint Distress ink. Adhered them together, ink blended the "beach" also with Walnut Stain and adhered it onto the ink blended rectangle. Die cut the clouds, added some Fossilized Amber and adhered them onto the panel.

Die cut all the parts for the magic slider and assembled it. Ink Blended the arrow mechanism with Spiced Marmalade. Temporarily added the closed iris behind the panel and traced the horizon line. Ink Blended the Iris using the right colors.

Cut a Kraft rectangle, cut a white top fold base card and glued them together. Temporarily added the ink blended panel onto the kraft rectangle and glued the die cut circle onto it. Stamped the sentiment from the Inside Greetings Congrats onto it. Glued the iris onto the back of the ink blended panel and onto the basecard.

Used Copic Colors:
Flamingo - RV13, RV42, R01, R00 / C5,C3,C1,0 / Y13, Y11
Hearts - R59, R29, R27, R24

Stamped the flamingo's and hearts out of the Fabulous Flamingos and the Snail Mail stamps. Colored them up using my Copic markers and cut them by hand and the matching dies. Adhered all the images and die cuts on the card using glue and or foam tape.

-----------------------------------------------

Hello crafty friends, Marine here with you today! Yes, I am back with a Christmas card! In June! It might be a bit early, but when I saw those palm trees from the Tropical Trees Backdrop die set, it clicked in my head and I immediately pictured a nativity scene, with black silhouettes, during a bright starry night.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Tree Backdrop Die Focused Card by Marine Simon (featuring Holy Night)

I started off by cutting an 8,5 x 3,5 inches bristol panel, and I first created sand dunes using a slimline hill stencil along with tumbled glass and blueprint sketch oxide inks. And for the sky, I went with prize ribbon, chipped sapphire and black soot oxide inks. I kept the sand dunes without any texture, but I wanted the night sky to be full of stars, so I added lots of details on that part of the card: water splatters, white ink and liquid sparkles.

Next I cut the different elements out of black cardstock to create silhouettes. I cut four palm trees and two borders using the Tropical Trees Backdrop die set, and used coordinating dies from Holy Night to create the nativity scene. And I attached all those pieces using foam squares: the borders at the bottom, the nativity scene in the middle and two palm trees on each side.

I embossed my "O holy night" sentiment from Holy Night in silver on a small black Stitched Circle Large that I attached in the middle of the card, and I finished my card by adding more stars in the sky using a white gel pen.

And that's it! As always, you are more than welcome to check the process video if you need more details (click on the image above). Thank you so much for stopping by, and see you next week!

Lovely Lilacs Cards with Alma and Gladys

It's Alma, and today I want to show you a card that sends lovely floral greetings.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Lovely Lilacs Floral Card by Alma Störk (featuring Stitched Arch Dies)

First I stamped the lilac from the Lovely Lilacs Stamps set in several layers with purple tones. I arranged the lilac in the background as a scene. Then I punched out the stamped images with the Stiched Arch Dies and placed a vellum in front of them.

Then I cut out a frame three times with the Stiched Arch Dies and placed it on the vellum. This creates a beautiful 3D effect. Thereafter I stamped the lilac again and cut it out with the matching Lovely Lilacs Dies. I placed this lilac in front of the vellum so that it stands out in colour.

Finally, I stamped "Congrats" from the stamp set mentioned above onto the frame and glued everything onto a rectangular card. Doesn't the lilac look really classy on the white paper?

-----------------------------------------

Hello crafty friends! Gladys here, and today I'm back with a beautiful layering stamp set called Lovely Lilacs.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Lovely Lilacs Floral Card by Gladys Marcelino

First I created the main panel using distress oxide inks. I used kistch flamingo, dusty concord and chipped sapphire. I added more interest by adding water droplets and also diluted chipped sapphire with a small paint brush.

Next I stamped the lilacs using Pinkfresh Studio inks then I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. Here are the ink colors I used:

Pink- ballet slipper, sparkling rose, bubble gum, raspberry bliss
Blue- sky blue, summer shower, seaside, storm
Green- fresh pear, grassy knoll, key lime

I arranged the lilacs on the center of the inked background adding double sided foam for dimension. I stamped the sentiment from Watering Can onto white cardstock and trimmed it down. Then I adhered the entire panel onto a green pattern paper. To complete the card I glued a few flat back jewels around the cluster of lilacs.

Thanks so much for joining me and have a wonderful day!

Wonky Windows Card with Kavya

Hi folks, Kavya here. I am back on the blog with another fun project. I love it when I get a chance to give some old stamps some love! Today, I decided to pull one of the oldest stamps in my stash - Tropical Paradise.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Wonky Windows Summer Shaker Card by Kavya (featuring Tropical Paradise)

I first started off by ink blending my background by using Picked Raspberry and Dried Marigold for one panel and Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio for the second panel. I then diecut the top panel using Wonky Windows

Sunny Studio Stamps: Wonky Windows Summer Shaker Card by Kavya (featuring Tropical Paradise)

I created a shaker element by using foam and some sequins that I already had in my stash. I stamped and colored a bunch of images from Tropical Paradise and sprinkled them around the framed shaker card base. I added a sentiment and I was done!

I hope you liked this fun project ;) Happy Crafting!
