Designer's Choice Cards with Catherine and Bobbi

Hi Friends! Its Catherine here, sharing another carnival themed card with the fun new release.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Country Carnival Card by Catherine Cohen (featuring Balloon Rides)

To start, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 3.5” x 8.5.” I ink blended the sky with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide and sprayed some water. For the grass, I used the Slimline Nature Border to die cut three layers of grass. I ink blended each layer with Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink and splattered some green watercolor onto the grass. I then attached each layer of grass with foam tape and added the adorable bears and all the fun carnival items in the Country Carnival Stamps. I colored all the items with Copic markers and cut them out with the coordinating die set, Country Carnival Dies. I also mirror image stamped some of the bears.

What’s a carnival without a balloon ride? I added the balloon and clouds from the Balloon Ride set and put one of the cute bears in the basket.

I finished off the card with a stamped sentiment from Inside Greetings Birthday onto a banner from Banner Basics and a white heat embossed sentiment from Kiddie Pool.

Hello friends! It’s Bobbi back with a fun and fruity card for summer using one of my favorite Sunny Studio Stamps sets called Tropical Paradise Stamps. I have several nieces and nephews that are in the 25+ age range that love to have fun, fruity alcoholic summer drinks at the lake. This birthday card is very fitting for the next gen’s summer birthdays!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tropical Paradise Card by Bobbi Lemanski

To create this card, I started by cutting a 5″ X 7″ front panel from 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock. I used my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor paints to splatter bright, summery colors on the background. I also added four 1/4″ strips of color at the bottom in pink, yellow, aqua and deep orange. I like the little extra color it offers this card front.

Next, I stamped in black - two pineapples, drinks, coconut drinks, and flowers - using the Tropical Paradise Stamps. Each one was colored using the following Copic colors. I also used a white gel pen for the pineapple highlights and coconut texture.

Yellows and Oranges: YR68, YR27, YR24, Y38, Y19, Y08

Reds: R27, R24, R17, R14, R22, R20
Greens: YG67, YG03, YG01, YG00
Aquas: BG10, BG11, BG23
Warm Grays (for shading): W3, W1, W0

The images were die cut and attached to the front. I used Scrapbook Adhesives to make a few of the images more dimensional such as the pineapple and one of the drinks. I added some simple shading using W3-W0 Copics below the elements to stand out a bit more. Lastly, I stamped the word "Cheers" from the set right in the center of the images.

Guest Designer Spotlight: Cards with Tammy Stark

Hello friends! Tammy here. I'm thrilled to be guest designing today with Sunny Studio's newest release. I absolutely adore this new release and have a few projects to share using one of my favorite sets, Baby Elephants.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Baby Elephants Baby Cards by Tammy Stark (featuring Slimline Dies)

For my first project, I created a pair of baby cards. How sweet are these images? So cute, I had to make both a baby girl and baby boy version!

To begin, I stamped the images from Baby Elephants, colored with Copic markers, and die cut the colored images using the Baby Elephants Dies

Next, I die cut 2 white scalloped mats using the Slimline Scalloped Frame Dies. I then cut the smaller panels from Bristol smooth cardstock and ink blended the backgrounds with Kitsch Flamingo and Spun Sugar (baby girl card) and Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass (baby boy card). I then stamped the sentiments onto the cards using black ink and arranged the colored images onto the cards, attaching some with foam tape for dimension. Lastly, I adhered my completed card to a white card base to finish up.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Graduation Cards by Tammy Stark (featuring Woo Hoo, Tag Topper Dies, Fancy Frame Dies)

I just love how versatile this stamp set is! I had fun creating some grad themed projects with Baby Elephants.

To begin, I stamped, colored with Copic markers, and die cut images from the following sets:
Baby Elephants Coordinating Dies
Woo Hoo Coordinating Dies

Sunny Studio Stamps: Graduation Cards by Tammy Stark (featuring Woo Hoo, Tag Topper Dies, Fancy Frame Dies)

My first project is a fun box card. I began by die cutting a basic box die using black cardstock and assembled it. The back panel of the box is ink blended with Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide inks, which I then splattered with some white and black acrylic paint that was thinned with water. Next, I cut some cloud borders using the Slimline Nature Borders Dies from white cardstock and trimmed them to fit the width of the box. I then cut a rectangle panel using the blue patterned paper from the Classic Gingham 6X6 Paper, matted it with white cardstock, and attached it to the front of the box. I stamped the sentiment from Woo Hoo onto the smallest pennant from the Slimline Pennant Dies and cut to fit the front of the box. Lastly, I arranged the stamped images, attaching some with foam tape for dimension.

I also created some coordinating gift card holders; perfect for presenting a gift card or money to the grad!

To begin, I stamped, colored with Copic markers, and die cut images from the following sets:
Baby Elephants Coordinating Dies
Woo Hoo Coordinating Dies

Next, I created the gift card holders simply by cutting a piece of black cardstock 3 1/2 X 7", scoring at 3 1/2" from the bottom. I created the tag shape using the Tag Topper Die - Traditional. I then folded on the score line and placed red line tape on the sides to create a pocket. Next, I cut 2 white scalloped square frames using the Fancy Frames Square Dies. I attached the frames over a square of Bristol smooth cardstock, ink blended with Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide ink, which I then splattered with some white and black acrylic paint that was thinned with water. I stamped the sentiment from Woo Hoo in black ink, then attached the stamped images using foam tape. Lastly, I finished off the gift card holders with a fun tassel, made from embroidery floss.

Thanks so much for stopping by and thanks to Sunny Studio for having me! I hope you enjoyed my projects!

Lovely Lilacs Cards with Audrey and Vanessa

Hello friends! Audrey here with a bright and fun floral card using several products from the summer release!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Lovely Lilacs Card by Audrey Tokach (featuring Inside Greetings, Watering Can)

To create this card, I started off with a piece of white cardstock cut to 3.75" x 5". I used Distress inks in Abandoned Coral, Saltwater Taffy and a tiny bit of Squeezed Lemonade in the center and ink blended the background. I wanted to create a spotlight effect to highlight the sentiment, so the color is stronger in the corners and around the edges and then gets lighter towards to the middle. I splattered on clean water to bleach out some spots, and splattered on some Abandoned Coral Distress ink for added interest. Then, I stamped several lilac blooms from the Lovely Lilacs stamp set in shades of light purple, and added light green for the leaves, the diecut them with the Lovely Lilacs Dies

Sunny Studio Stamps: Lovely Lilacs Card by Audrey Tokach (featuring Inside Greetings, Watering Can)

Before popping the blooms up with foam tape, I stamped a sentiment from the Inside Greetings Congrats stamp set in the center of the panel in black ink. I love that these sentiments can be used inside or outside of your card. Once I popped the lilacs up around the sentiment, I added a trio of stamped butterflies which come from the Watering Can stamp set. Before mounting the panel to an A2 card base using foam tape, I added some white gel pen accents and some Stickles glitter to the butterfly wings.

-------------------------------------------

Hello to you! Vanessa here with a flower card using the gorgeous Lovely Lilacs set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Lovely Lilacs Card by Vanessa Menhorn (featuring Frilly Frame Dies, Vintage Jar)

I first die-cut the lace background from Kraft cardstock and adhered it to the card base. Now I stamped the flowers and the mason jar, die-cut the images with the matching dies and adhered the pieces to the card with foam tape. I colored a piece of silk ribbon with a Copic marker to match the lilacs, tied a bow and added it to the card. Finally, I added highlights with a white gel pen.

These sets were used:

Vintage Jar stamps dies
Frilly Frames Eyelet Lace Dies
Frilly Frames Stripes Dies

Our lilacs are in bloom right now, I love that I am able to put them onto a card whenever I want to with this lovely set! And they'll last forever :) Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Wonky Windows Cards with Marieke and Marine

Hello Sunny Studio Friends. Marieke here, and for today's post I decided on making a mini slimline shaker Mother’s Day card. On May the 8th in the Netherlands we celebrated Mother’s Day and this card I gave to my mom.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Wonky Window Die Focused Tropical Themed Card by Marieke Slaats (featuring Fabulous Flamingos, Sending Sunshine)

On a 6 3/4 x 2 3/4 inch rectangle I ink blended Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers Distress ink. Splattered some water, Peacock Feathers and white paint onto it and cut the Wonky Window die out of it.

Cut a white rectangle in the same size and temporarily added the outside frame onto it. Adhered the die cut parts onto the white rectangle and glued a piece of acetate behind the frame. Filled up the shaker using Crystal Clear Jewels.

Stamped the images out of the Fabulous Flamingo and Sending Sunshine stamps. Colored them up and cut them using my scissors. Die cut the word mom out of yellow cardstock and added some white gel pen details onto the letters and images.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Wonky Window Die Focused Tropical Themed Card by Marieke Slaats (featuring Fabulous Flamingos, Sending Sunshine)

Used Copic Colors:
Flamingo - RV13, RV42, R01, R00 / C5,C3,C1,0 / Y13, Y11
Green - YG67, YG63, YG03, YG01
Yellow - Y17, Y15, Y13, Y11Brown - E47, E44, E43, E42

Stamped the sentiment on some white cardstock, trimmed it down to a small banner. Heat set the sentiment on some black cardstock and cut it using my scissors. Adhered all the images onto the card using foam tape.

----------------------------------------------

Hey crafty friends, Marine here, so happy to be back on the blog with this bright and cute underwater card showcasing the new Wonky Windows die. When I saw this new die from Summer release, I immediately thought of making a shaker card with it, so here we go!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Wonky Window Die Focused Tropical Themed Card by Marine Simon (featuring Fintastic Friends, Best Fishes)

I stamped the images first using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them all using the coordinating dies, and then colored everything using my alcohol markers. We have underwater critters and seaweeds from Fintastic Friends and from Best Fishes, I also picked the small rocks from Savanna Safari, and the grass sprigs from Bunnyville to make more seaweeds.

Next I created my underwater panel. I cut a 5,5 x 4,25" bristol panel and used four oxide inks to make it, from bottom to top: salvaged patina, peacock feathers, ribbon prize and a teeny tiny bit of black soot.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Wonky Window Die Focused Tropical Themed Card by Marine Simon (featuring Fintastic Friends, Best Fishes)

Once my underwater panel was dry, I used the Wonky Windows die to cut six openings out of it. I taped the die on one half of the panel, and sent it to my die cutting machine. I kept the inside pieces in the same order and set them aside, and I did the same thing on the other half of the panel. I flipped the die so that the bottom windows wouldn't be the same as the ones at the top and taped the die to the paper, and I sent it to my die cutting machine to cut three more openings and this way get a 3 x 2 grid.

Next I temporarily taped my six window panel to a card base, and I attached the inside pieces on the matching window.

I removed the six window panel, and then created the shaker. I stuck a piece of clear acetate at the back of the panel, also added foam strips at the back to divide the six windows and make room for the shaker accessories, and before adding those shaker accessories, I just added powder inside the six windows, all along the edges, this way the jewels won't stick to the foam.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Wonky Window Die Focused Tropical Themed Card by Marine Simon (featuring Fintastic Friends, Best Fishes)

I cleaned the acetate using a microfiber cloth to remove the powder excess, I added a few clear jewels on each inside piece, and I finally attached my six window panel on top of the card base to totally close and complete my underwater shaker panel. And next I stuck all my cute images using glue dots mostly, and also foam squares at some places.

The last thing I did was create the sentiment. I didn't want it to cover too much of the images, so I went with vellum. I white heat embossed the banner from
Little Birdie, and inside that banner I also white heat embossed "You're fintastic", I used the coordinating die to cut that banner that I finally attached in the middle of the card using three tiny dots of liquid glue.

And that's it! Super cute and super bright, love those new critters from Fintastic Friends, especially the manta, she's so gorgeous! As always I leave you with the video (click on the image above!), don't hesitate to watch it for more information about the card! Thanks for stopping by, and see you next week!
