Pink Peonies Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with a floral card showcasing the absolutely gorgeous Pink Peonies set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Pink Peonies Card by Hanh Nguyen (featuring Frilly Frames Dies)

I stamped the images from the Pink Peonies stamp set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Pink Peonies Dies to diecut them out. I colored them with Copic markers.

COPIC COLORS:
Flowers: RV000/10/21/13/14, Y02
Leaves: YG01/03/17

For the background, I took a piece of Neenah white cardstock (4.25" x 5.5") and lightly ink blended the center with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink. Next, I took another piece of Neenah white cardstock and trimmed it with the Frilly Frames Stripes Die. I adhered the two panels to each other.

For the sentiment, I stamped the Hello sentiment from the Big Panda Stamps set with Versamark Watermark ink onto a piece of black cardstock and heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder. I used the coordinating Big Panda Dies to diecut it out.

I adhered the colored images onto the panel using a combination of liquid adhesive and foam squares for dimension and interest. The panel was adhered to an A2 white card base (4.25" x 5.5"). I finished the card with a few Majestic Clear Confetti.

I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and visit today. I hope you liked my card. For more info and ideas, be sure to visit the Sunny Studio Stamps Shop. Please also visit my INSTAGRAM feed for more inspirations.

Pink Peonies & Frilly Frames Floral Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some floral-themed cards for Summer using our fabulous Pink Peonies Stamps.

Sunny Studio Floral Peony Card using Pink Peonies Clear Layering Stamps & Frilly Frames Quatrefoil & Chevron Metal Craft Dies

For my first card using the Pink Peonies Stamps, I stamped them using VersaFine Onyx Black ink onto watercolor paper, which I then heat-embossed with clear embossing powder to prevent them from smearing.  I then colored my flowers and leaves using Caran D'Ache watercolor pencils and blended them with water and a paintbrush, working from the lightest to darkest spots. When it comes to watercolors, I'm always a mess about staying in the lines so to keep things looking clean, I chose to fussy cut the images.

My aqua tone-on-tone background was created using our Frilly Frames Quatrefoil Dies, which I layered from behind with the same color to create the look of embossing and to keep things less busy for my greeting. I love the subtle texture it adds! For my greeting, I used the word die from our Slimline Scalloped Frame Dies with the white heat-embossed word "birthday" from our Plane Awesome Stamps (although we have this word in so many different sets of ours). Finally, I embellished my card with some scattered Crystalline Sky Blue jewels to add a little glitter and shine to my card.

For my second card using the Pink Peonies Stamps, I knew I wanted to color these peonies using a no-line coloring technique with my Copic Markers. Still, it's not the quickest coloring method available, so I limited my card to just three flower blossoms. I used a small mini pack of Memento Dew Drop inks in Angel Pink & New Sprout to have my stamp outlines disappear with my coloring. For my background, I layered our Frilly Frames Chevron Dies cut from black cardstock over a smaller piece of white cardstock to back the openings and an A2-size panel of coordinating pink cardstock. Last, for my sentiment, I stamped "You're My Favorite" from the Lovey Dovey Stamps using Hero Arts Ultra Pink Ink.

That wraps up my projects for this morning. I hope I've inspired you in your own cardmaking and that you spread a little happiness by sending out a card to a loved one today.💛

Potted Rose Scalloped Mini Mat Card Set with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some more cards featuring our Potted Rose StampsI had stamped several rosebuds, leaves, and flowerpots from various colors years ago when this set was first released. I'm obsessed with mass-producing layering images so I can have them on hand to grab for quick cards since half the batttle feels like getting them aligned and set up in the Misti.

Sunny Studio Flowerpot Cards using Potted Rose & Everyday Greetings Clear Stamps, Mini Mat & Tag 2 Dies, & Stripes Stencils

I struggled to decide which color scheme I liked better, so I thought creating two versions of the same clean and simple card design with different color palettes would be fun. Half the battle is pulling out all the supplies, so doing them together in an assembly line didn't add much more time to my process. I started by laying all my images out where I wanted them and then carefully adhering the pieces to the flowerpot with liquid adhesive. Once I had an arrangement I was happy with, I used the first card as a template for my second card. I stacked the pieces on top of each other, giving me an easy way to quickly assemble them without the guesswork involved with the first card. I then stamped each flowerpot with my "best wishes" sentiment from our Everyday Greetings Stamps using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and added foam tape to the back of the entire floral grouping.

Sunny Studio Pink Flowerpot Striped Scalloped Card using Potted Rose Clear Stamps, Mini Mat & Tag 2 Dies, & Stripes Stencils

To frame each card, I die-cut the scalloped mat using our Mini Mat & Tag 2 Dies, adhering thin strips of complimentary colored cardstock behind the eyelet lace holes to have the color peek out. For my card background, I inked a striped tone-on-tone print using our Diagonal & Straight Stripes Stencils with the same dye inks I used in my floral arrangements.

I still can't pick a favorite. Which color palette is your favorite?

I am frequently asked which ink colors I used for my layered images. Some of these images were previously stamped using now-retired Colorbox inks; however, I spent considerable time trying to find the closest matches to share them here with you (from lightest to darkest).

Just Bee-Cause Card with Marine

Bzzz bzzz crafty friends! This is Marine here, and I'm super happy to be back with this extra buzzzy slimline card featuring Mr Bear and his bee friends. Another mix & match that I very much enjoyed working on.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Just Bee-Cause Card by Marine Simon (featuring Holiday Hugs, Picket Fence Border Dies, Slimline Scalloped Frame Dies, Little Birdie)

I started off by stamping the images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I used the coordinating dies to cut them all and then colored everything using my Ohuhu markers and Graph’it brush markers. Browns and greens for the branches, and of course a black and yellow color palette for the bees, beehives and Mr Bear's accessories.

Here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Just Bee-Cause - bees, beehives • Holiday Hugs - bear • Little Birdie - branches • Garden Critters - watering can • Chubby Bunny + Chickie Baby - flowers.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Just Bee-Cause Card by Marine Simon (featuring Holiday Hugs, Picket Fence Border Dies, Slimline Scalloped Frame Dies, Little Birdie)

Once the coloring was done, I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and moved on to the background. I cut a 7,75 x 2,75 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel using the stitched mat die from the Slimline Scalloped Frame die set, and I covered the entire panel with clouds using a cloudy stencil from my stash along with salvaged patina and peacock feathers oxide inks. I splattered water all over the panel and dried it with a paper towel, mixed some copic opaque white ink with water and added more splatters to the panel using a slim brush, and then I did the same with peacock feathers oxide ink for more contrast.

I used the same slimline die as my main panel to cut two pieces out of green cardstock, and cut a grass border out of each piece using a die from the Picket Fence die set. I added a little bit of rustic wilderness oxide ink to the edges of both borders, mixed a little bit of that same ink with water and added green splatters to the borders, as well as white ink splatters, and then I white heat embossed "Just bee-cause" from Just Bee-Cause on the smallest grass border.

I assembled and attached everything to my panel, starting at the very bottom with the largest grass border first using 1mm foam squares. Next I stuck Mr Bear using the same foam adhesives, added the small grass border on the foreground using 2mm foam squares, and then attached the rest of the images using 1mm and 2mm foam squares again.

Next I created the card base and first cut a slimline scalloped panel out of dark gray cardstock using another die from the Slimline Scalloped Frame die set, I cut an 8 x 3 inches white slimline panel that I attached to the scalloped panel using 1mm foam tape, and stuck my scene panel to the white panel using liquid glue. I attached the whole thing to an 8,5 x 3,5 inches dark yellow card base, and to complete my card, I applied white blizzard nuvo drops to the bees wings to make them sparkle.

And that's it! Another super cute and fun mix & match that turned out pretty cool I think. I hope that you like it too! Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next time!
