Fireplace Shaped Die Holiday Mantle Scene Card with Nancy

Hi everyone, Nancy here. It's that time of the year again when we start planning out holiday cards! Christmas is my favorite season to send handmade cheer to those I love.  Let's take a closer look at the Fireplace Shaped die set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Fireplace Shaped Die Holiday Mantle Scene Card by Nancy Damiano

I created this card starting with a white fireplace background. This gave me a nice, clean slate to work on. To decorate, I began with the inside of fire pit and created a bold, colorful look with "bricks" in aqua tones and gray. Next, I stamped the sentiment in the upper right hand corner of the mantle. The flames and logs were layered in the center of the fire pit and give the card a touch of warmth. A few red stocking were hung with care, some with candy cane treats (from the Playful Polar Bears stamps) and an enamel heart. A sprig of holly stamped from the Christmas Icons set finishes off the card.

Decorating mantles of all different types is a fun way to use the Fireplace Shaped die set. You can go with traditional red bricks or give it a playful aqua twist - customization is endless here!

2nd Birthday Blog Hop with Holiday Sneak Peeks & Prizes

Hello & welcome to a very special post today.  I am thrilled and humbled to have reached our second birthday milestone this month!  To celebrate we are hosting a fun blog hop with some of our favorite designers who are sharing sneak peeks of our holiday release coming out next Friday.

For my part of the hop, I am sharing five different ways to use our new Fireplace dies which come with everything you need to create a fun A2 sized shaped fireplace card!

Card No. 1:  For my first card I wanted to create a traditional brick fireplace reminiscent of grandma's house.  I inked up three swatches of white cardstock using Fired Brick, Rusty Hinge, Wild Honey & Ripe Persimmon distress inks.  I then die-cut the bricks using the four brick pieces that come with the set and adhered them with a glue pen in a random pattern.  For my mantel, I cut it from some wood print patterned paper and cut the trim from metallic gold cardstock.

While this set comes with some die-cut stockings, I thought I would mix things up by using the stocking stamp from our Christmas Icons set and the kitty warming himself from our Furever Friends stamps.  I then used a Copic multiliner pen to write the names of our family on the stockings.

Card No. 2: Next up I have a card where I used those same brick dies along with an embossing pad to emboss the bricks into the background of my fireplace piece, giving it a nice subtle detail.  I heat embossed my sentiment in white using a phrase from our Heartfelt Wishes set and a kitty from Pet Sympathy.

For this card I thought it would be fun to do something totally different so instead of stockings, I used the wreath image from our Christmas Icons set, along with a metallic pipe cleaner to form my garland behind the wreaths.  I'm in love with the results!

Card No. 3: For this card I went more modern with the look of my fireplace, cutting the background from silver shimmer cardstock and topping it with what I like to think of as white subway tile.  I channeled my inner Barbie girl and inked my stockings using Picked Raspberry and Twisted Citron distress inks.  I stamped my sentiment on the mantel using a phrase from our Gleeful Reindeer set.  A puppy from our Santa's Helpers and a gift from Christmas Icons complete my scene.

Card No. 4: Up next is another somewhat modern take with a black and white fireplace. It's difficult to see in my photo, but my background was embossed with the bricks in the same method I used for my second card.  To embellish my card I turned to the kitty in the stocking image from our Santa's Helpers set.

Card No. 5: My last card shows a third way to use the bricks for the fireplace by cutting a random brick pattern from the front panel and layering another solid panel behind it.  For these I used some scraps of solid distressed patterned papers that were a bit thinner than my other cardstocks so they actually benefited from the extra thickness.  I embellished my die-cut stockings with some stitched lines using my multiliner pen and added candy canes from our new Playful Polar Bears set.  I finished my card with a banner that perfectly hugs the fireplace from our Sunny Borders set and a sentiment from our new Christmas Home set.

Here's a look at the full die set which will begin shipping on Friday, September 29th.  The fireplace mantel scores along the top making it easy to cut two to form your card base and to adhere them together along the top.

Last Minute Christmas Tags with Lexa

Hello everyone! Lexa here sharing some last minute Christmas tags with you. I think the best advice I can give you is to keep it simple and use the same layout. All the images are from the Christmas Icons stamp set and the coordinating dies are perfect for tags.  For my tag shape, I chose the classic Tag Toppers Dies and Fishtail Banner II Dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Holiday Gift Tags by Lexa Levana (using Christmas Icons stamp, Traditional Tag Topper & Fishtail Banner Dies)

First I cut 4 pieces 2"x4.25" panel from white cardstock and shaped them one by one with the dies. I also prepared some leftovers Christmas patterned papers for the tags. I stamped all my images with Versafine black ink on watercolor paper and colored them with Distress Markers.

The stitched circle are blended with Mowed Lawn and Candied Apple Distress Inks. I love the classic color combination for Christmas, red and green will never go wrong. The sentiments on the tags came from various stamp set, Holiday Style and Bundled Up. Last touch is Gold Wink of Stella on the bottom part of my tags. It looks so sparkling in real life. I choose the white and red chevron ribbon, it matches my tags perfectly. Here, I want to show you closer looks of my tags...

Quick & Easy Holiday Gift Tags with Vanessa

Happy Thursday! Vanessa here with my last minute tags. I decided to use up some of my hoarded patterned paper for them:

Sunny Studio Stamps: Christmas Icons & Cresent Tag Topper Holiday Gift Tags by Vanessa Menhorn.

Using Tag Topper Dies - Crescent, I die-cut three tags from patterned paper and from vellum and assembled them with ribbon. Now I die-cut the banner from Little Angels Dies thrice from red cardstock, adhered them to the tags and trimmed them. Then I stamped the images from the Christmas Icons set and the Mug Hugs set, colored them with Copics and die-cut them with the matching dies. Finally, I adhered the images to the tags with foam tape.

I think to use to vellum over patterned paper is a great way to tone down the patterns a bit and makes it easier to add other images/embellishments, don't you think?

Thank you so much for visiting today and a very merry Christmas to you and your loved ones!!

Christmas Gift Tags with Lindsey

Hi, Lindsey here today sharing a trio of last minute holiday tags. I created these tags using the stamp set Christmas Icons and the crescent tag topper die. They were super fast and easy to do. Let's get started on how I created this fun set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Holiday Gift Tags using Cresent Tag Topper Dies & Christmas Icons Stamps by Lindsey Sams.

To begin, I cut some patterned holiday paper to 6" x 3". Then I used the tag topper die to cut the top of the die. On the bottom of the tag, I adhered a strip of coordinating paper and cut it using a scalloped border die. Next, I cut three stitched circles from white card stock. This is what I would be doing my stamping on. Before I stamped, I added some distress ink to the edges of the circles. Once I had the images stamped, I colored the images using Copic markers and adhered the circles to the tag base. Finally, I added some holiday twine and a little Wink of Stella to some of the images. That's it!

These tags were so easy to create, but I think they are also so cute. They would make a great handmade touch to any holiday package. I hope you will be inspired to try your own tags. Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful holiday!
