Coastal Cuties Cards with Angelica and Juliana

Hi Friends, Angelica here with a card featuring the adorable Coastal Cuties stamp set. These little girls remind me of my daughter, and she LOVES the beach. 

I made my background with the images from the stamp set. I stamped the girls in random order, then filled in the empty spots with the splash stamps. I used Copic Markers to color the images in.

I glued on a strip of Summer Splash Pattern Paper, then added a small strip of black card stock. I attached the card front to an A2 size card base, then got the sentiment ready. I stamped the words from the Coastal Cuties stamp set onto black card stock with embossing ink, then heat-embossed it with white embossing powder.

Hello friends! It's Juliana, and today I'm here to share a summer themed card with you featuring Sunny Studio Stamps Coastal Cuties Stamps and Beach Babies Stamps! This card is similar in size to the Pirate themed card I shared recently featuring the Seasonal Trees Stamps. Along with a fun scene on the outside of the card, there is also some fun carried onto the inside of the card as well!

To get started I stamped images from Coastal Cuties Stamps, Beach Babies Stamps and Seasonal Trees Stamps with Memento Ink and then colored them with Copic Markers. Once all the coloring was finished, I die cut them using the coordinating Coastal Cuties Dies, Beach Babes Dies and Seasonal Trees Dies. The card base for this card is 7 x 7.75 inches folded in half to create a long narrow card...perfect for this summer scene!

For the beach, I trimmed a piece of kraft cardstock to 3.5 x 7.75 inches and then took one of the sloped borders from the Woodland Border Dies and die cut it. I then took the other border lined it up with the end of the first cut, used Therm O Web Purple Tape to hold it in place and die cut the rest of the piece. By doing this, I was able to create a longer border cut that would fit my card size. I did this twice to create 2 layers of sand for the beach scene.

Next I cut a piece of Bristol Smooth Paper to 3.25 x 7.5 inches and ink blended the top portion with Distress Oxide in Salty Ocean using a foam applicator. Once this was complete, I adhered the sandy beach and the card was ready for me to start creating my scene. I layered all of the images along the beach and used double sided foam adhesive to pop up some of the images for added dimension. I then added some die cut clouds using the Fluffy Clouds Dies.

For the inside of the card, I used the same technique for the waves that I did with the sandy beach. Here, I used the Catch A Wave Dies. I then completed the scene by adding a couple of the colored images with floaties so they looked like they were out enjoying the water!

Wrap Around Gift Boxes with Juliana and Mendi

Hello friends! It's Juliana with you today to share a Happy Birthday gift box featuring the Wrap Around Box Dies and a mix of stamps from the Best Fishes Stamps and Oceans of Joy Stamps. I recently shared a sloth themed birthday gift box featuring this Wrap Around Box Dies.

To get started I took a piece of Bristol Paper and die cut the gift box using the Wrap Around Box Dies. Following the instructions, I assembled the box and put it to the side. Next, I took the stitched rectangle die included with this die set and cut 4 panels from Bristol Paper. I choose to use Bristol Paper because I wanted to color them using Distress Inks and I find this ink blends wonderfully on this paper.

I knew I wanted to create an underwater ocean scene. However, instead of regular die cutting and layering, I decided to go for an inlaid design. To achieve this, I took the Catch A Wave Dies and the Woodland Border Dies and used them to create an inlaid design on the die cut stitched rectangles. Using Therm O Web Purple Tape, I taped the dies down onto the die cut rectangle piece and ran them through my die cut machine. I then applied Distress Oxide ink in Salty Ocean to the water pieces and Frayed Burlap and Vintage Photo to the bottom piece.

To give the wave die cut pieces a more underwater look, I splattered water onto them and dabbed it dry with a paper towel. This removed some of the ink and gave me the look of water bubbles. For the sand, I splattered these pieces with watered down brown and black paint. White I waited for everything to dry, I die cut 4 more stitched rectangles. I then put each of the panels back together, and adhered them to the rectangles. They were then ready to attach to the gift box. For the top section of the gift box, I once again used Bristol Paper and inked it with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide.

I then went about stamping and coloring a bunch of images from the Best Fishes Stamps and Oceans of Joy Stamps. To color the images, I used Copic Markers and then die cut them using the Best Fishes Dies and Oceans of Joy Dies. Once all of the coloring was finished, I began grouping the images together to create a scene for each side of the box. I used double sided foam adhesive to adhere some of the images for a bit of dimension.

To complete the gift box, I die cut a tag from Wrap Around Box Dies and then added a sentiment and a couple of starfish from the Best Fishes Stamps. I then punched a hole in one of the top pieces of the box and tied on the tag with a piece of green and white baker's twine.

Hello there!  Mendi here, filling in for Angelica today. I'm excited to be sharing a patriotic themed treat box using the Wrap Around Box dies. To carry out my theme, I turned to my favorite Classic Gingham and Polka-dot Parade 6x6 Paper Packs.  

I started by cutting four of the box panels from white cardstock and then four of the stitched rectangles to decorate the sides from the white gingham patterned paper. This type of pattern doesn't matter which direction it's turned so I was able to get all four sides from a single 6x6 sheet, by turning the die horizontal for two and and vertical for the remaining two. I then just die-cut portions of the rectangle from the red and blue versions, hanging the die off my paper and trimming them down to just over an inch.

To embellish my box, I turned to star dies from our Window Trio Square Dies and Fancy Frames Square Dies sets, cutting them from Red, white and blue textured cardstock. To add a little something extra, I then layered each of them with some Americana Star Crystals.

As a last touch, I created a matching tag from my scraps using the Wrap Around Box die set, stamping and heat embossing it with a sentiment from our Happy Thoughts Stamps (and the word "happy" from our Fabulous Flamingos Stamps).

Guest Designer Spotlight: Cards with Wanda Guess

Hi everyone! Wanda Guess here! I'm very happy and excited to be the guest designer today on the Sunny Studio Blog! I'm always delighted to work with the beautiful and fun stamps and dies from Sunny Studio! They are some of the favs in my craft room for sure. 

For today's post I combined several tropical and summer themed stamp sets and made a vacation scene in a pop up card! This one will have you reaching for a Mai Tai! Please visit me on my blog sometime! You can find me at A Blog Called Wanda or find me on Instagram. Let's get tropical! 

This card was so much fun to make! I started by stamping and die cutting out a lot of pieces and parts! Palm trees, birds, flamingos, swimming cuties, pineapples, and leaves. Oh My! I combined several sets - Fabulous Flamingos, Coastal Cuties, and Sending Sunshine - for all of my images. 

Then I had fun coloring everything with Copic Markers. I then added accents with a white gel pen ... and then some shimmering glitter Diamond Stickles! Once I had all my images colored and ready, I decided to create a pop up card scene that is like a vacation when you open it! 

I used the awesome Catch A Wave dies set to die cut waves from teal cardstock. I added white gel pen accents to the waves too. I also die cut some puffy clouds for the back of the scene. 

I used the fabulous Summer Splash paper pad to add colorful paper accents to the project. (Secret: I have about 20 Sunny Studio paper packs in my studio!! LOVE.) I assembled everything together placing all the images inside the pop up. I used the extra images to decorate the sides of the pop up. 

The Sunny Studio stamp sets are all perfectly sized and scaled to mix and match, and that makes it so much fun to create with all your stamp sets. I loved combining everything for this card! I have so many more ideas for this release. Another winner for sure!!

Best Fishes Cards with Leanne and Eloise

Hello crafty friends! Leanne here and I’m swimming by to share an under the sea themed shaker card. This card was simple and easy to create with the help of the Best Fishes stamp set and a Stitched Oval die. I made my own stencil to create a wave pattern to help set the scene. 

I started by stenciling the wave pattern onto a piece of light blue card stock that is trimmed slightly narrower than A2 width. I made the stencil using the Catch A Wave dies and copy paper. I used Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink and a blending brush to achieve the tone on tone pattern. Next, I used one of the Stitched Oval dies to create the shaker well and filled it with various aqua colored sequins and micro beads.  

I created the sandy bottom out of kraft card stock and a Woodland Border die. I splattered this piece with white and brown paint to give it a more realistic look. I Copic colored several images from the Best Fishes stamp set and die cut with the coordinating Best Fishes dies. I adhered the images directly onto the acetate window with glue dots.  

I added just a few of the same sequins I used inside the shaker to the outside around the scene. To complete the card I added the greeting which I trimmed into a thin strip and tucked under the shark’s fin. I think the theme and color scheme of this card is very gender neutral and the Best Fishes greeting is multi-purpose. These type of cards are so handy to have when we need one at a moment’s notice.

Hello friends, Eloise here and today I’m sharing a card using the Best Fishes Stamp Set. This is definitely one of my favourites from the release, I’ve used it so many times and honestly ocean themed stamp sets are my most used ones.

I started off with stamping and colouring my images in with Copic Markers. I then cut them out. For my background, I ink blended over a curved stencil with Tumbled Glass and Scattered Straw Ink to create an under the sea background. Once it was ink blended, I splattered some water on the background and dried it with a heat tool.

I then added foam tape onto the backs of my images and adhered them into place on my background. For my sentiment, I stamped the ‘Best Fishes’ from the stamp set, in black ink on the top right-hand corner. Lastly, I adhered my panel onto a light grey card base.
