Fireplace Shaped Dies Christmas Notepad with Franci

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday! It's Franci here with you today with a new Christmas project featuring the new Fireplace Shaped dies and my favourite - the Playful Polar Bears! This new die set is amazing. The first thing I thought when I saw it months ago was that I wanted to make a Christmas notepad with it. So here's it is!

The fireplace is cute and the set is full of little details to rock it out. You can have fun building the fire and the stockings, and you only have to change color combos to have a completely new scene! I die cut all my pieces out of some white cardstock and then colored them by sponging on Distress inks.

Then I didn't separate those 4 little rectangles that are the fireplace bricks and instead I embossed them to give my fireplace extra interest. You can actually use any dies to create an emboss effect. You only have to set up your die cutting machine to the emboss mode and create this sandwich: clear plate, embossing mat, cardstock, die, clear plate. Then you run it all through and the magic happens!

Then I sponged some more distress ink onto the embossed bricks to give even more dimension. I stamped lots of images from the Playful Polar Bears stamp set and I also added the gifts from the Gleeful Reindeer stamp set and hollies from the Blissful Baking set. I colored them with Copic markers and then die cut them with their coordinating dies.

I stamped my sentiment from the Gleeful Reindeer stamp set and drew some lines for my stockings to hang on with a fine tip black marker. I put lots and lots of Wink Of Stella onto my scene to create sparkly details and let everything dry.

And here we come to the funny and time consuming part - creating the notepad! First of all, I used copy papers and I die cut lots and lots of fireplaces with the die. Since copy paper is so thin you can cut more layers at once. I die cut something like 30 layers because I wanted my notepad to be light and manageable (like you can carry it around in your purse and don't feel it at all!).

Then I stuck all my layers one on top of another, and added my decorated piece on top. I put some liquid glue at the top, and secured all my die cuts with big paper clips to press them together until they dried. I did it before going to bed so they had all the night to dry completely.

Playful Polar Bears Interactive Baking Bears Card with Franci

Hi everyone! Franci here with you today with a special Christmas card! Can you believe Christmas will be here in 40 days?! I'm super excited since winter is my favorite time of the year and I love Christmas time. So I created a special festive card today and I'm so happy about how it turned out. Any Christmas cookies lovers here?! 

I decided to combine the Playful Polar Bears stamp set with the Blissful Baking stamp set because they coordinated so perfectly together! First I die cut the scalloped box pop up card base using a Lawn Fawn die, and created some little snowy hills for all the different "layers" inside the box, which I glued all together. 

Then I stamped all my images, colored them with Copics and then die cut them with the coordinating dies. It takes quite a lot of time to do. So you have to save this card for a very special person ;) Well, I'm joking. There's nothing better than some late night coloring with your favorite stamps to relax and feel happy! 

Here's a little detail shot. I drew and colored some cookie dough inside the bowl with Copics and I also added some chocolate chips with a black Copic friendly marker to add some additional interest. It's fun, isn't it?! I added as many details as I could to really give a nice happy "Christmas baking" feel to the scene and the little bear with the kitchen glove and the biscuit tray is my fave! 

I also added a little platter with a cup of chocolate and a little pastry to another bear. I love the little Christmas stocking full of cookies! And the last bear is writing the "Have a sweet Christmas" sentiment with his bag of frosting! Ha. This card just makes me giggle so much!!

Vintage Jar and Friends & Family Happy Birthday Card with Vanessa

Hi everybody! Vanessa here with a mason jar full of pretty flowers! I combined Vintage Jar and Friends & Family to create this happy birthday card.

I first covered a blue card base with blue patterned paper. Now I stamped the mason jar and all the flowers and leaves onto white cardstock, die-cut them with the coordinating Vintage Jar dies and Friends & Family Flower dies, and arranged them on the card. For more dimension, I adhered some of the pieces with foam tape. Finally, I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment from Blissful Baking onto a strip of dark blue cardstock, trimmed it and adhered it to the card. 

It's so much fun to arrange real flowers in a mason jar and it is as much fun to do it with these beautiful stamps!!
