Hello crafters, it’s Tina with a fun birthday card featuring the versatile Icing Rectangles Frame dies. This spring I really am drawn to happy and bright colors, hence the yellow card base and polka dot yellow panel (Spring Fever) which I cut with the outer of the Frilly Frames Stripes die.
Next, I pulled out the Icing Rectangles Frame dies and used the smaller of the two with some white card stock. I opted to showcase the sweet small border this die provides but before adding this piece to my panel, I had to create the space for my scene. I used a rectangle die from my stash (Infinity Rectangles) a bit smaller than the white frame. My background consists of a white rectangle dry embossed with the Lots Of Dots folder.
Now, I was ready to add all these layers to my card base. For my focal point I selected a stamp set that is super adorable, it’s called Plane Awesome and I love that it comes with a bunch of cute pilots! I stamped the plane, some clouds and a sweet doggy, which I then colored with my Copic markers.
The sentiment comes from the same set and you can mix and match these words to combine many greetings. Of course, I went with a birthday saying (Versafine Onyx Black ink). I mounted the sentiment with foam strips near the bottom of the frame and went on to add the plane, pilot and clouds. Lastly, I sprinkled a few Champagne Clear Jewels for that extra touch. I really love how the icing border adds an extra layer of detail to this project.
I hope you got inspired by this project and I can’t wait to see your take on this lay-out. Thank you for joining me and happy crafting!
