Roly Poly Penguins Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm back with this fun holiday card featuring the cute Roly Poly Penguins in a red, black and white color palette. How nice it was to color those sweet penguins again!

I started off by cutting a 5,5 x 4,25 inches panel out of a Joyful Holiday snowflake pattern paper, I mixed copic opaque white ink with water and added splatters all over my panel, and I did the same with liquid stardust for sparkles. Next I cut a Comic Strip Speech Bubble frame out of an All Is Bright red & white stripe pattern paper, and attached it to my snowflake panel using 1mm foam squares. I cut another Comic Strip Speech Bubble panel out of white cardstock, kept three of the inside pieces, turned them into snow borders using a Ribbon & Lace Borders die, added sparkling splatters to those pieces, and then stuck them to my panel using 1mm foam squares again.

On the top right hand square section, I stamped "It's penguining to look a lot like Christmas" from Penguin Pals. First, I white heat embossed "penguining" in the center of the square, and then stamped "it's" and "to look a lot like Christmas" in black. Next I stamped my images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using Memento tuxedo black ink, I cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Ohuhu markers. The penguins are from Roly Poly Penguins, and the snowflakes are from Holiday Hugs.

I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, attached everything to my panel using 1mm and 2mm foam squares, and finally stuck my panel to a white card base.

Holiday Express Card with Tina

Hello crafters, it’s Tina and I am so excited for the festive season! Today, I am sharing another sweet Christmas card that I made with the amazing Holiday Express stamp and die set. Not only do you get a fantastic train but also several cute passengers and even a Santa!

Let’s start with creating 3 panels from white card stock. We will turn the first one into a snow bank with a die from my stash. The remaining panels will become our shaped sky cut with the Fluffy Clouds Borders. To get an instant shiny and sparkly sky, I sprayed both panels with a blue Distress Mica spray.

I set the panels aside to dry and selected my images from the Holiday Express stamp which wasn’t easy since there are so many options in this set! Continuing with the bright blue from the sky, I added some contrast with coral, red and grey Copic markers. When I was done coloring, my sky panels were dry to the touch and I could glue them to the snow bank.

Next, I created a white card base slightly smaller than the scene we just assembled and used liquid glue to adhered the whole. I placed my images on the lower part of the card to see where I could put my sentiment. While browsing through my stash, I decided that the Holiday Hugs sentiment would match this card perfectly. I stamped the words in a red dye ink and used the matching dies. To create that chipboard effect, I ran the dies through the machine two more times using plain white paper. I stacked the three layers with liquid glue and adhered both words to the blue sky. Next, I used foam tape to add my train, it’s passengers, the gifts and all the decoration.

This wouldn’t be a Christmas card without loads of snow. I recently invested in a few white paint pens and they are perfect for that magical snowy look that I love so much! I added a light shadow under the train by using a grey Copic marker. And of course, I had to finish this card with some bling (Champagne Clear Jewels).

Holiday Express & Penguin Party Card with Amanda

Hey crafty friends! It’s Amanda here with you today on the Sunny Studio blog and I’m sharing a sweet little holiday card!

To create the card base, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 5.5”x8.25” and then scored and folded it in half. On the edges of the card base, I lightly swiped Catherine Pooler Clay Mask ink to create a pretty pink border. Next, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4”x5.25”. I glued this panel to the card base.

To create that gorgeous lacy frame, I used the Scalloped Oval Mat 3 Dies. I ran a white cardstock panel through the die cutting machine with the largest oval. Then, I ran the frame through with the Diagonal Cover Die to create the little criss cross pattern. To add color to the oval, I ink blended Catherine Pooler Clay Mask and Polished inks. Using the Frosty Flurries Stamps and the Polished ink, I added some pink snow in the background. Then, I put 3D foam strips behind the oval and attached it to my card.

My images are from the Holiday Express and Penguin Party stamps. I stamped all the images with black ink and then colored them in with Copic markers. I added some white highlights and dots with a white Gelly Roll pen. I also added gold accents with a gold Gelly Roll pen. I cut each image out using their coordinating dies. I put 3D foam squares behind all of the images and added them to the front of the card.

To create my sentiment, I stamped the 2 separate stamps onto a piece of black cardstock with my WOW! embossing pad. I applied white embossing powder to the glue and then melted the powder using my heat tool. I used scissors to cut out each sentiment. I applied white foam tape behind them and added them to my card front. The final touch was to add 3 Metallic Gold Confetti pieces with liquid glue to add a little more shine to the card!

Bear Hugs Stamps & Holiday Express Stamps Cards with Mendi

Hello and welcome! This is Mendi here today, popping in to share some Christmas cards featuring our Bear Hugs Stamps and Holiday Express Stamps.

For my first card today, I used all the cute polar bears from the Bear Hugs Stamps with the Comic Strip Speech Bubbles Die to frame each miniature scene using the set's tree, ice block, balloon, and candy cane. I inked up behind the frame using a light touch of Mermaid Lagoon Distress ink and then cut out stitched snowy slopes using the Slimline Nature Border Dies. Finally, I stamped a punny greeting using VersaFine Onyx Black ink from the set. I really loved how clean and fresh this turned out with the simple red, white, and blue color scheme, so I thought it would be fun to challenge myself to design both cards today using that limited color palette.

My second card features the adorable train, critters, decorations, and gifts from the Holiday Express Stamps. To help make my train feel extra festive, I added peppermint candies to the wheels of the locomotive and train cars using images from the Candy Shoppe Stamps and Baking Spirits Bright Stamps. For the backdrop behind my Christmas train, I taped two of the three 6" borders from the Forest Trees Stencils together and inked up one continuous line of trees with Salty Ocean Distress ink. Above the trees, I added a cloud border using the Slimline Nature Border Dies cut from masking material and inked with Mermaid Lagoon Distress ink. Lastly, I combined several mix-and-match greetings from the Holiday Express stamps to create one long, continuous sentiment to span the length of my 8" wide card.

Merry Mice Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today sharing a fun and punny Christmas card featuring these sweet mice from the Merry Mice and Harvest Mice sets. I love how the two sets play so well together.

I stamped the images from the Merry Mice Stamps, Harvest Mice Stamps and a few hollies from the Hedgey Holidays Stamps sets onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Merry Mice Dies, Harvest Mice Dies, and Hedgey Holidays Dies to die cut them out. I colored them with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen.

For the layout, I used the Comic Strip Everyday Dies to die cut a panel out of white and red cardstock. I used only the inside parts from the white and the frame from the red panels. I lightly ink blended the edges of the white pieces with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink. I adhered the red frame and inked white pieces onto the front of a white A2 card base (4.25" x 5.5").

For the sentiment, I used the colored images to roughly layout my design and align my sentiment. I stamped the "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmouse" from the Merry Mice Stamps directly onto the front panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Finally, I adhered the colored images onto the front panel with a combination of liquid glue and foam squares for a bit of dimension and interest.
