Balloon Numbers Card with Nicky

Happy Friday friends! This is Nicky with you today on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog and I'm sharing a new birthday card created using the Balloon Numbers stamps and coordinating dies. Please read on for all the details.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Balloon Numbers Focused Birthday Card by Nicky Meeks (featuring Icing Border Dies, Tulip Path Background, Comic Strip Everyday Dies)

To create this card I first ink blended an A2 white panel of cardstock using Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold, Bundled Sage and Crushed Olive Distress Oxide Inks. I spattered on some water and blotted it up to distress the background and then dotted in a little toning colour interest too.

I framed this panel out with a white die cut created using the Comic Strip Everyday Die (I snipped out the vertical and horizontal pieces). The frame was backed with foam tape and applied and I glued this to my card base. I then used the Icing Border Dies to create the two swirly edges which I glued in place.

I stamped the number 17 using the Balloon Numbers stamp set and Fire Coral Ink by MFT. I restamped the image using Versamark Ink and heat embossed in clear so that the balloon numbers were glossy. You'll need a Misti to repeat stamp accurately. I die cut the numbers using the coordinating dies.

I then stamped the bunnies, butterflies and clouds from Tulip Path Background Stamp and I coloured with the following Copic markers:

Bunnies - E44, E31, E41, E40, R22, R21, R20, R00
Butterflies - BG1, BG10
Clouds - RV10, R000

I die cut using the coordinating dies, backed each element with dimensional foam tape and applied to the scene along with the balloons. I used a metallic gel pen and a ruler to draw in the balloon strings.

For a few finishing touches I stamped in a few tufts of grass and used a couple of green Copic markers to add some shade under the bunnies and I stamped the other words on white sentiment strips and applied them together with a few sparkling clear sequins.

Enjoy your weekend, I hope you can squeeze in some cardmaking time!

Doggone Birthday Card with Marine

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I'm happy to be back on the blog with this interactive birthday card featuring some cute pups having fun partying, and as very often I started off by stamping all the images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink. I cut them all using the matching dies and colored everything using my alcohol markers in browns and neutrals for the dogs and a yellow + green + aqua + turquoise color palette for the balloons, banners, and presents.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Doggone Birthday Card by Marine Simon (featuring Party Pets, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Heart Bouquet)

As always, here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: Doggone Birthday for the dog in the center, Party Pets for the other dogs, party hats, small presents, flying balloons, Heart Bouquet for the balloons on both sides, and Balloon Rides for the banners.

I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and next worked on my interactive panel, starting by cutting a large Stitched Rectangle panel out of a Rainbow Bright starry blue paper. I mixed broken china oxide ink with water, used a slim brush to add splatters to my panel, and did the same with copic opaque white ink.

I created the whole interactive feature using a Summer Splash green paper, and you can check this Christmas Card blog post which includes a process video showing how to build such an interactive card.

Once my interactive panel was done, I attached the images using liquid glue on the interactive tab for the flying dog and balloons, as well as 1 mm and 2 mm foam squares for the balloons, banners, presents, and other dogs. I love those little guys so much; they're just so stinking cute with their happy faces!

I purposely left a space right between the balloons for my sentiment, I white embossed "Have a doggone birthday" from Doggone Birthday on yellow cardstock and used a Rounded Rectangle Mat die to turn it into a small banner that I attached to my panel using liquid glue. I attached my panel to a 5.5 x 4.25 inches white panel using 1mm foam tape, and then to a white card base to finish my card.

And that's it! I hope that you like this lovely, colorful birthday card. Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next week!

Rounded Rectangle Window Die Focused Card with Tina

Hi crafty friends, Tina here and in today’s fun Easter card I am using two sizes of the versatile Rounded Rectangle Window dies. As the name suggests these dies help you to create lots of different designs! I opted for two scenic windows using the sweet images from Clucky Chickens.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Rounded Rectangle Window Die Focused Easter Card by Tina Henkens (featuring Frilly Frame Dies, Chickie Baby, Clucky Chickens)

To start, I die cut a panel from blue striped paper (Striped Silly) with the outer die from Frilly Frames Chevron. Then I played around with different sizes of the Rounded Rectangle Window dies. I knew I wanted to use the big hen house and the scripty Happy Easter (Chickie Baby), so that was decisive in my choice of dies. After creating the two windows, I glued the striped panel to a white card base. With the dies still on my desk, I ran them again through the machine, this time using white card stock. These pieces are the backing for my scenes.

I took my Copic swatch chart to find a blue marker that was approximately the same tone as the lighter stripe of the paper. Now, I was able to draw a little hill on both panels to ground the images. For extra texture I dotted the sky parts of these pieces with the same marker.

After selecting my images from Clucky Chickens and Chickie Baby, I did all the coloring with  Copic markers. White gel pen details made the images pop even more.

Since I kept the inlay panels flat, it was easy to stamp the large sentiment from Chickie Baby in a brown ink from my stash. I glued both background panels in place and mounted the images with foam tape to the card. Adding a few Champagne Clear Jewels finishes this sweet project.

Thank you for visiting the blog and happy crafting!

Tulip Path Background Card with Amanda

Hello and welcome back to the Sunny Studio Stamps blog! Amanda here with you today. I’m so glad you’re here and I’m hoping that you get some crafty inspiration today! Today, I’m sharing a sweet little Spring card I made using a fun layout with the Window Quad Square Dies.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Tulip Path Background Focused Card by Amanda Fitterer (featuring Window Quad Square Dies, Beach Buddies)

I started by securing the die in place with some temporary tape.  I positioned the die towards the top of an A2 sized panel. Then, I ran it through my die cutting machine.

On another piece of white cardstock, I stamped the Tulip Path Background Stamps. I trimmed this piece so that it was slightly larger than my quad squares frame. I also stamped the bunny from the Beach Buddies Stamps.

Next, I colored the background and bunny with Copic markers. I used these markers:

Path: E30, E31, E34, E35, Y23, N0, N2, N3, N5
Mountains and Grass: YG0000, YG00, G01, YG03
Tulips: G03, G05, YR04, YR09, Y13, Y17
Trees: YG-1, YG03, YG07, YG09, E55, E57
Sky: B0000, B000
Windmill: YR24, YR27, N2, N5, N7
Bunny: N0, N2, N3, N5, R00, R20

I used the
Beach Buddies Dies to cut the bunny out. On my frame panel, I stamped my sentiment from the Beach Buddies Stamps.

To assemble the card, I first glued my background to an A2 card base. Then, I applied 3D foam strips on the entire back of the frame panel. I adhered that to the card base. Next, I placed a 3D foam square behind my bunny and adhered him to the card. I love the little peeking bunny! He’s just the cutest!

Thanks for coming by the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today! I hope you find some time to get crafty today!

Foxy Friends Card with Leanne

Hello crafty friends! Leanne here. Today I'm sharing a sweet and simple friendship card featuring images from the Foxy Friends stamp set

Sunny Studio Stamps: Foxy Friends Friendship Card by Leanne West (featuring Stitched Ovals)

To recreate this simple A2 card design you will need the Foxy Friends stamp set & coordinating dies (for all images and the greeting) plus an oval die. I used the second largest oval die in the Stitched Oval die set

I have Copic colored all images with the following colors: fox(E11, E13, E15, W1, W4) birds(B21, B23, R00) tulip pots(C3, W1, W3, G21, G23, RV13, RV14) hearts(R21, R22)

I added some color to the oval with blending brushes using Catherine Pooler Cummerbund and Wintergreen inks.

To complete the card I adhered my oval scene overtop a gingham pattern paper mat trimmed slightly smaller than the A2 size card base. Unfortunately I was out of my go to pink gingham paper from Sunny Studio, so I just used some gingham paper that I found in my paper scraps pile.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great week!

Balloon Alphabet Card with Hanh

Hello Crafty Friends! This is Hanh on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today with a fun card to share with you showcasing the Balloon Alphabets set and these adorable kitties from Party Pets and Cat Antics sets. These kitties are super excited and ready to party!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Balloon Alphabet Focused Birthday Card by Hanh Nguyen (featuring Cat Antics, Party Pets, Rounded Rectangle Mat Dies, Inside Greetings)

I stamped the Balloon Alphabets stamps with Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide inks onto a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110 lb cardstock. I die cut them out with the coordinating Balloon Alphabet Dies.

Next, I stamped the kitties from the Cat Antics stamps and Party Pets stamps sets onto a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Cat Antics Dies and Party Pets Dies to die cut them out. I colored them with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen.

COPIC COLORS:
Orange Cats: YR31/20/21/24/27, R00/20
Gray Cats: C00/0/1/3, R00/20
Brown Cats: E51/53/33, R00/20

Sunny Studio Stamps: Balloon Alphabet Focused Birthday Card by Hanh Nguyen (featuring Cat Antics, Party Pets, Rounded Rectangle Mat Dies, Inside Greetings)

For the background, I used Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink to ink blend the center of a piece of white cardstock. The second largest die from the Rounded Rectangle Mat Dies was used to trim the inked panel. I used the largest die from this same set to die cut a piece of red cardstock.

For the sentiment, I stamped one of the sentiments from the Inside Greetings Birthday Stamps set directly onto the inked panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Balloon Alphabet Focused Birthday Card by Hanh Nguyen (featuring Cat Antics, Party Pets, Rounded Rectangle Mat Dies, Inside Greetings)

For my card base, I took a piece of sturdy white cardstock (4.25" x 11"), scored it at the midline (5.5" mark) and folded it in half. I placed the largest die from the Rounded Rectangle Mat Dies just slightly above the fold line (hinge of the card base) and die cut the cardstock. This created a white card base just slightly shorter than my red panel.

I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and visit today. I hope you liked my card. For more info, ideas and to check out the entire Spring Release, be sure to visit the Sunny Studio Stamps Shop. Please also visit my INSTAGRAM feed for more inspirations.
