Friends & Family Coloured Heart Background Card with Eloise

Hi everyone! Eloise here and today I have a card featuring the new Friends & Family stamps, along with the Friends & Family Word diesI also have a background technique featuring some die embossing with the Stitched Hearts dies as well as masking to create a fun coloured background too.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Friends & Family Colored Heart Background Card by Eloise Blue

To begin my card today I pulled a piece of watercolour cardstock and four different pink to red Distress Inks. I then used the Stitched Heart die set and taped the trio of larger hearts together. To do the die embossing onto my cardstock I use an embossing mat - they're inexpensive and super handy to have. I opened my Big Shot tab, I laid down a cutting plate, then the embossing mat, the piece of cardstock, then the dies into place, the cutting plate on top and ran it through and I continued this until the background was covered. This gets a little tricky as the dies are quite large and they can't run through as easy as they're too wide, but if you play with them a bit, you can get them through no problem. Once my background was coloured, I kept my dies taped together and ran them through with some masking paper, but this time I removed the tan mat, put my Big Shot back to normal cutting sandwich and ran it through a couple of times to get all the pieces I needed to mask. Once I had all my pieces I was ready to blend.

I first masked off the outside of the large heart, so the background and then the middle of the trio of hearts. Which revealed the 1st heart and the 3rd heart. I used Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral and Festive Berries in an ombre style to ink blend over the two exposed hearts. I then repeated this step for all four heart clusters. I then reversed the masks and covered the 1st heart and 3rd heart and ink blended the rest with the Spun Sugar - I was going to originally leave it white, but I had a few boo-boos, so I had to cover it up somehow. Once everything was blended I flicked a little water over top to create that fun Distress water splotch look.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Friends & Family Colored Heart Background Card by Eloise Blue

For my sentiment I first die cut the 'family' word die from the Friends & Family Word die set out of some white fun foam and white cardstock, adhered them together and then onto my card panel. I then stamped the 'The love of' and 'it's everything' from the Friends & Family stamp set with some black ink above and below my adhered die cut. So the sentiment reads 'The love of family, it's everything'. I really love this stamp and die set, it's super sweet. To finish my card up completely I added some Wink of Stella in the clear onto the Family die cut word and that was it.

I hope you enjoyed my card today - I really love the background, it's so fun to do and with all that extra embossing, just makes it even more wonderful. You could even die cut it and inlay it instead if you would prefer, that makes it have the same effect, you just have to adhere it together - but if you don't have the embossing mat, this would work great!

Make sure you stop by the blog the rest of the week for more inspiration!

Sun Ray Dies & Easter Wishes Easter Blessings Card with Lexa

Hello crafty friends! Lexa here today with a card that highlight the Sun Ray Dies and I'm pairing it with Easter Wishes. The Sun Ray dies actually pretty versatile, you can try to think out of the box, your imagination is the only limit.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Sun Ray Dies and Easter Wishes Bunny Easter Card by Lexa Levana

I start my card with a piece of 4.25"x5.5" white cardstock and blend Tumbled Glass Distress Ink for the sky. I die cut the sun ray on two tones of yellow cardstock, I trace the circle lightly with pencil and adhere the rays one by one. It's actually a lot easier than it seems, mine is far from perfect but after I finished the whole card everything looks alright.

I stamped all the images with Versafine black ink and watercolor them with Distress Markers. After finish with the coloring, I use the coordinating Easter Wishes dies to die cut all the images. I always love to pop everything out, the white border around the images are perfect. The grass border on the front is added the last to add more dimension. The bunnies from Easter Wishes are my favorite, they look so adorable and fluffy.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you enjoy today's post and I wish you all an awesome day!

The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge Blog Hop

Welcome to Day 2 of "The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge" Blog Hop!  You should be arriving from the blog of Honey Bee Stamps or if you are just joining us you can start at the beginning of the hop at The Daily Marker.

Kathy Racoosin from The Daily Marker has created this wonderful hop to give your creativity a jump start with some of her favorite stamp companies & Online Card Class partners.

The premise of “The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge” is to color something everyday even if it’s for five minutes. (However feel free to  jump in or out as time permits). Any coloring medium is welcomed. Click here to find out where to share what you are coloring and join the encouraging community of happy colorists PLUS answers to other questions you may have.

Kathy encouraged us today to try and mix in other companies products besides our own into our creations today and I completely embraced that idea.  As a one-woman show I frequently don't find the time to use all the other wonderful stamps that I continue to buy from my favorite companies.  I had fun trying to squeeze a number of different stamps from my stash on my two card examples today.  I think the different companies play nicely together, don't you?  ;)

Timeless Tulips and Vintage Jar Thank You Card with Vanessa

Hi everybody! Vanessa here with a card idea using Timeless Tulips and Vintage Jar. I so love the layered stamps, as it makes it very easy to create beautiful flower bouquets. And that jar is genius, it looks like real glass!

Sunny Studio Stamps: Timeless Tulips And Vintage Jar Thank You Card by Vanessa Menhorn

I stamped the tulips and the jar onto white cardstock and die-cut them with the coordinating Timeless Tulips dies and Vintage Jar dies. For the tulips I used only two ink colors (MFT Dye Ink Coral Crush and Peach Bellini) plus white pigment ink. Since I didn't have a third ink color to pair with them I stamped one layer with the darker color and then white above to tone down the color...

Now I stamped the stems into the jar and onto a panel of white cardstock that I had trimmed a bit smaller than my card base. Then I covered my card base with checked patterned paper and adhered the cardstock panel.

After I had adhered the jar and the tulips with foam tape, I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment from Daffodil Dreams onto a strip of patterned paper and adhered this to the jar. Finally, I added sequins.

I hope you like today's idea! Thank you for stopping by!

Turtley Awesome Turtle Birthday Card with Lindsey

Hi, Lindsey here today sharing my last post before I have my sweet little boy. I'll be taking a break from the design team for a while, but hopefully will be back to share more cards with you soon. I really appreciate all the love, support, and sweet comments you guys have given me during my time with Sunny Studio Stamps! Now let's get started on this fun birthday card using the Turtley Awesome stamps.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Turtley Awesome Turtle Birthday Card by Lindsey Sams

To begin, I cut a patterned piece of paper to an A2 size for my card base. Next, I cut a slightly narrower piece of orange card stock to go on top of the polka dot paper. I decided to do a circle design on the orange panel. I cut different sizes of coordinating stitched circles to make a cool design. Then, I stamped my sentiment on the bottom right corner of the orange panel and stamped the rest of the images on some white card stock.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Turtley Awesome Turtle Birthday Card by Lindsey Sams

I colored the turtle and birthday images using Copic markers and cut them out using the coordinating Turtley Awesome dies. Once I had my design layed out, I adhered all the circles down using some adhesive. I then popped up the stamped images using some foam tape, so they would really stand out on the card. To finish off the card, I added a few highlights using my white gel pen.

That's it for me today. I think this card turned out super cute and this set is great for boy birthday cards. With such a great price point, you should definitely give this set a try. Thanks so much for reading and have a great day!
