Sneak Peek Week: Puppy Parents, Puppy Dog Kisses & Staggered Circles

Hello and welcome to our Spring Sneak Peek Week!  All this week I will be showcasing cards using our new collection for Spring coming out on Friday, January 4th.  :)

Today I'm sharing our new 4x6 Puppy Parents stamps & dies, 2x3 Puppy Dog Kisses stamps & dies and a new standalone Staggered Circles die.

Card No. 1: For my first card I used 4 for the 6 puppy and Dog parent pairs from our Puppy Parents stamps and grounded them on my card using some stitched circles from our new Staggered Circles die.

This die comes with 5 small circle dies in 5 unique sizes and as the name suggests, have been staggered for perfect placement both vertically, horizontally and diagonally.  It has been over-sized so that you can have two of the circles overlap off the edge or four of the circles on the card perfectly.  The beauty of this die is that you don't have to carefully measure out where to put individual circles using traditional nesting circle dies.  Also because there is stitching on both sides of the cut line, both sides are useful.  Plus, it includes some extra sizes that some traditional nesting sets might not offer because it's physically impossible to nest the circles in smaller increments.

For my card, I cut four of the largest 1-3/4" circles out of paper from our Classic Gingham paper and Gingham Jewel Tones paper packs.  For my sentiment I used the die from our Little Angels dies and paired the stamped sentiment from the Puppy Parents set together with the word "mom" which I spelled out using our Loopy Letters dies.

Card No. 2: Up next is a card combining the sweet sheep dogs & dog house from Puppy Parents together with the sheep dog, balloons, party hats and sentiments from our Party Pups stamps. To frame my little scenes, I have used our Comic Strip Everyday die cut from black cardstock.  The Comic Strip die comes with some little clouds which I cut from 1.5" wide iCraft Purple Tape and used as a mask before inking up my background with tumbled glass distress ink.

Card No. 3: For this card I used some of the stitched circles leftover from another card using our new Staggered Circles die.  I then colored each one in the center using a finger dauber with mustard seed, twisted citron, candied apple & broken china distress inks.  For my patterned papers I mixed a variety of papers from our Polka-dot Parade Paper and Rainbow Bright Paper packs. The party hat and dog balloon were borrowed from our Party Pups stamps and the sentiment from our new Puppy Dog Kisses stamps. For the stars of the show, two of my doggies came from our new Puppy Parents set which coordinate with our previously released Devoted Doggies stamps.

Card No. 4:  For this card I positioned the Staggered Circles die on the diagonal, so that I could fully fit all four circles on my card panel without bleeding off the edge. To back my circles I punched slightly larger circles from the grid print in our Gingham Pastels paper pack and then for my decorative edge using our Ric Rac Border dies.  I then colored my little dachshund puppies with Copics and positioned them within the circle cutouts, stamping the little paw print from the set using some pink ink.  It's a pretty simple card, but I love the soft and sweet color scheme!
Sunny Studio Stamps: Puppy Parents New Mom Pink, White & Lavender Weiner Dog Card (using Ric Rac Borders & Staggered Circle dies and Gingham Pastel Paper)

Card No. 5: Up next is a card combining the dog house and two of the dogs from Puppy Parents with our new 2x3 Puppy Dog Kisses stamps. I used those same cloud masks that I created for the Comic Strip style card above for my card here, inking up my sky around them with some broken China ink and then removed some of the starkness by inking the clouds lightly with some tumbled glass distress ink after my masks had been removed.

For my grass, I started by inking it up using some twisted citron and mowed lawn distress inks and then loosely and quickly sketched in some blades of grass with a variety of green Copic markers that complimented my distress inks.  This is far from perfect, but I love that it doesn't matter once you layer it with the pieces from the stamp sets.

I completed my card with a sentiment from our Puppy Parents stamps.  In order to squeeze this extra sentiment on the stamp set, I had to break it apart and separate the words so I wanted to make sure I created a card that showed it off.  It's nice having words separately sometimes though to increase the different ways they can be used.  :)
Sunny Studio Stamps: Puppy Dog Kisses & Puppy Parents Home Is Where You Card Dog House Card by Mendi Yoshikawa

Card No. 6: For my last card of the day I have a card once again combining the dog house, bowl and tennis ball from Puppy Parents stamps with the Chihuahua from Puppy Dog Kisses.  To create my fun background, I added strips of Therm-o-web Sticky Lines adhesive to a piece of red cardstock and then heat embossed them using Wendy Vecchi's red geranium embossing powder. I am so in love with the results!  To keep things looking clean on my edges, I cut the panel I created down the center and put the clean cuts on the outside edges of my card, hiding the seam down the center with my white panel.  I then added a decorative edge using my favorite zig-zag die from our Ric Rac Border dies.

My mom has a Chihuahua that is her pride and joy so I wanted to make sure I created a card specifically for her with this little set.  While the images in Puppy Parents set can be used year 'round, many of the sentiments center around showing gratitude to moms and dads which is perfect for Mother's Day and Father's Day cards.  For my card here I finished off my card with a Happy Mother's Day sentiment on the inside using our Happy Thoughts stamps and a few Iridescent Star Crystals by Studio Katia.

  2. Adorable puppies! A definite add to my wish list. Love the use of pattern paper.💜

  3. Lovely set, Mendi, and beautiful cards. So excited for the circle dies, can't wait to get my hands on them! My favourite new year's organizational tip is to go through my stash and put a small sticker on things I feel I haven't used in a long time. If I use them this year, the sticker comes off. If not, this time next year I destash those items to make room for new and exciting goodies! x

  4. Love the cute puppies! I like putting my stamp sets in Avery Elle type envelope.

  5. I like the sunny snippet and the loopy letter die. I put all my stamps and dies in clear envelopes with a name-sticker.

  6. Love all the puppies, they are so cute! My favorite organization tip is to keep the coordinating dies with the stamps, makes it easy to grab the envelope and go create!

  7. I always try to clean up after a project, putting back my supplies. In this way I will know what I still have and where to find it if I need it again.-Maria Giselle B.

  8. Oh my gosh...are they not just the cutest! Love the staggered circles also. Cheers.

  9. Cute dogs and fun dies. I declutter by accepting any call for donations and the forcing myself to fill a few bags for pick up day.

  10. Love all of these cute pups! Darling cards!
Oooooh, I flunked organization! Not sure I have any tips to share! I did buy some of the IKEA Raskog carts and try to keep some of my crafty items contained on those shelves!

  11. cute projects - My tip would be cleaning up after playing with your stamping products, so you can find everything again lol!!

  15. Love this puppy set. I think the sheep dog is my favorite. Perfect with that circle die. I love Avery Elle storage envelopes. Just ordered more for my new things.

  16. Such cute cards today. This stamp set is so versatile for many occasions. I try to clean up my work space each time I craft so that nothing gets lost and I don't have to search for things the next time.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I love those sweet dogs, and I need a doghouse stamp! I am going through a supply purge right now, so my tip would be to get rid of anything you haven't used in a year (or longer, in the case of some of the items I'm finding)!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I am a cat owner but I do love the new doggy stamps. At the start of a New Year I love to go through cupboards and drawers and get rid of stuff that I haven't used for a while.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Such cute stamps and wonderful cards! I am just reorganizing and can't seem to get rid of anything yet!

  20. OH! I am a HUGE dog lover and ADORE these new products!! I think having furniture which allows you to keep the items you use most accessible and handy is the best tip I can offer. Thanks for the chance to win!

  21. Awww, the puppies are all so adorable. Gorgeous cards as always, Mendi.
My favorite organizational tip is to use decorative containers for some of your supplies. For example, I have three large owl shaped coffee mugs that I keep my markers in (I don't have a ton so they work for me; for now!).

    ReplyDelete
  22. Oooh, such a cute set - wonderful cards! I have a hard time with organization - my biggest tip is to continuously organize as things come in. That's the hardest thing for me to do and then I have to organize everything at once over and over.

    ReplyDelete
  23. So many cute puppy cards! To keep a handle on my stamp collection I follow Jennifer McGuire's advice of storing them in plastic sleeves and labeled to easily see what I have.

  24. Oh the sweet cards are just adorable!!! Love them all!!! Thanks for such amazing inspiration for this adorable release!!!

I am very bad at organization of my stuff:-)

  26. Love the new dog stamps! We have a bearded collie (she looks similar to a sheep dog) and it’s fun to see a fuzzy face dog in a stamp! My happy place craft room also has an antique china hutch (filled to over flowing with family items) and a set of oak barrister stacking units (filled with antique dolls, books, and old toys). I like to use some of the old decorative bowls, metal sifters, small containers from the china hutch as storage things for washi tape, baker’s twine, embellishments etc. That way I can keep organized and still look at all the old things that bring me joy! I also have a child sized roll top desk that belonged to my a Mom and it hold all kinds of stamp sets and other crafty treasures!

  28. How cute are those puppies! The best thing I ever did was invest in a pencil pouch for my colored pencils and organized by color family. Makes it easy when the time comes to color. :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm not very good at organizing my stuff, but I find it helpful to keep my coordinating dies in the same envelope/packaging as the stamps. Another thing I love is the Mom's Calendar to help me organize my time.

    ReplyDelete
  30. It's not possible to resist this adorable puppy set. Any child would smile and, in fact, I sure did. Wonderful layouts and such cute images.

    ReplyDelete
  31. My ink pad storage made a huge difference in my crafty corner and I love it. Other than crafty organization a good planner is my go to tip and item for a more organized life.

    ReplyDelete
  32. The puppies are adorable. I have a new favorite organizational/cleaning tool, it's called a trash can, I've just got to learn to use it more.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Delightful and adorable. Such cute images and loving the papers. Myorganizarion tip is to keep a bin for scraps. I have one for solids and another for pattern paper. I pull them out for use on cards.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Oh my gosh!!! I now need all your puppy stamps!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Adorable cards!!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. SQUEAL!! I LOVE the SWEET Images!! Such AMAZING inspiration too!! My organizational tip would be to keep a Caddy on your Work Top and keep your MOST used tools there for EASY crafting!! I also, LOVE to keep the NEW Products that I WANT to use close by in a Tin Container so I can access them when I'm ready!! THANKS for sharing and for the chance to WIN!! Have a FABULOUS Release!!

  36. Cutest images ever!!! Love the die circles too! My favorite organizational tip is to organize things to work for how you create... I tend to do die and stamping together so I keep them separate but near each other and labeled.... then I keep all my cardstock, stickers and pattern papers together for assembling days... I tend to spend different days doing different things rather than start one project and finish it ... so I have many projects going at once in the various areas of completion ready for me in any stage

    ReplyDelete
  37. i wish I had a great organizational tip! I'll be watching the comments to pick some up for myself! I LOVE the new products shown today!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Love the staggered circle dies! I'm a cat person, but those little dogs are just too cute! When I'm doing my Spring cleaning I sort through things, especially in closets, and if I haven't used or worn something in the past year it goes into the donation pile.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I have cleaning supplies in all bathrooms and the kitchen so I don't have to cart them around.

  47. Ohhhhhhhhh these are all wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. All the cards are so cute! My organizational tip is to touch paper only once; when I get the mail, I go through it and throw away what is junk and file the important items in their proper place. This keeps the countertop from getting cluttered.

    ReplyDelete
  49. These puppies are so cute, and I love the staggered circles too, that would be a useful die!

  50. These are just the cutest cards! My husband has been a sheepdog fanatic for many years and, yes, we have owned quite a few. So, I was thrilled when I saw this sheepdog mama stamp. Can't wait to get it and use it on his next birthday card!!! Love it!

  51. Being that I'm a bit OCD (yes just a bit lol) everything has a place and when something gets used it MUST be put back in it's place right away. Of course I can do this but that does not mean anyone else in my household complies but I try anyway. It's a pain especially when crafting but it really does make staying organized easier.

  52. Wow, amazing cards! The richness of design and coloring elevates these adorable images into stunning cards. I store my wafer dies on Art Bin magnetic sheets that I store by category in a wood crate. The sheets fit perfectly in an Art Bin handled tote for crafting on the go.

  56. OMH I love these so much. SO adorable.

  57. I guess my organizational tip would be to not get discouraged when organizing your craft supplies. If you have been crafting for awhile and have a pretty large stash it will take you awhile to get it organized. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was your stash. Take it one day at a time and don't give up. In the end you will be happy to know what you have and where you have it. Be sure to keep an inventory list as you go so that you don't have to touch stuff more than once. Might as well kill two birds with one stone. Thanks for a chance to win, too! Love those adorable pups. :D

  58. Omg...such ADORABLE cards!! I store my stamps in heavy plastic bags, but would love to convert to the Avery Elle envelop types. I also have a log of all my stamp sets and dies with pictures...I like to use that when planning my projects.

  60. Adorable stamps and cards! It’s so cute that there’s a mom and baby for each of the different types of dogs. And love the variety of the dogs.

    ReplyDelete
  61. My favorite organizing tip is to use Zip Loc bags for everything! I have them in every size and use them to organize and store Legos, tiny toys, craft supplies...whatever! I LOVE all these dog stamps and cards so much!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Those dogs are adorable! My favorite organizational tip is to use blank DVD cases to store the cards I make.A box will hold 4-6 cards and I can be more specific about sorting then in bigger boxes.

  72. These new puppy stamps are so cute! And I am thrilled with the Staggered Circle Dies! I almost bought a different set the other day and didn't. Yay! I like yours better.
Best organizational / cleaning tip: Don't hesitate to throw out the unnecessary!! I'm a pack rat, but when I clean, I have to just shut my eyes and throw the unnecessary thing in the trash. I don't need to keep every church bulletin just because it is pretty or every tiny bit of wrapping paper leftover. :D Just be like that Frozen character and "let it go!" :D

  73. These stamps are adorable - and perfect for my own dog’s puppy friends! (And their owners.)
My organizational tip would be just to get it DONE - don’t procrastinate! Take things little by little and you’ll see a difference and feel “lighter.”

  74. I guess that my best tip is to use ergonomically sound cleaning supplies. You get less tired out when you most efficiently use your body. But honestly, I think I need everyone else's tips, because I'm *terrible* at cleaning.

    ReplyDelete
  75. My favorite organizational craft products are clear envelopes and magnetic sheets to store my die sets and stamps. I used to have a hodge podge of containers that really didn't work well but now I can keep my dies in order without losing them!

  76. My favorite general organization item is my family command center. It has helped with mail and school clutter.

  78. These stamps are so cute. What a wonderful idea to do puppy parents! My fave organizational tip is to purge constantly! Don’t let things pile up! Or it will be too overwhelming and you won’t be motivated to tackle it.

  79. These puppies are so cute. I wish I had a good organizing tip, I am going to read all of them here for tips- LOL. I need to declutter, and so my tip would be to try and get rid of unneeded things in real time, and not let them pile up- like junk mail that you think you might want to look at sometime.

  82. Oh my! Those pups are DARLING and the one nursing has stolen my heart!! There aren't any cat nursing stamps out that I know of, and believe me, I have oodles of cat stamps!... hint hint!!! >^.^<
My best org tip is to use the Bead Buddy for sequins and the packaging from Sizzix Bigs/Spellbinders Contour works great for holding ink cubes and those teardrop Memento ink pads.

  85. Love the dogs! I like to divide regular chores throughout the week and keep a "clutter box" where things go when they are found in a place other than their rightful spot. I then spend a half hour (if needed) a week cleaning out the box.

  86. For crafty organization, I an a huge fan of using Evernote to document my stash. It keeps me from buying duplicates, or even from buying an excessive amount of one style. How many butterfly stamps do you need, right? So if I see a cute butterfly set i'm tempted to buy, I search on Evernote to see the other butterflies I already own and decide if I still need the new one. Many times I opt to purge an old one to make room for the new one. Saves having to do a huge purge every year. Decision fatigue is real! I also store embellishments by color so I can see what my options are more easily. And my all purpose advice is having a home for everything! Putting things away is so much easier when you know where it goes!

  87. For crafty organization, last year I discovered the Fridge Binz--they are great for stamps! I now need to update last year's organization!

  93. It wasn't that long ago when you could only get insurance for people and property. But for some time now, cat carrier owners have been demanding insurance cover for their pets and the insurance companies have been listening. When people ask me, "what insurance company do you recommend", this is what I tell them...
